There is a German lady that works there that is very nice! The owner is also very cool. You can get a discount if you place your rental order online too. I showed up without a reservation, and they were able to fully outfit me with a jacket, pants, helmet, boots, and a snowboard. They also allowed me to store my clothes and shoes at the shop while I was out skiing, which was a huge plus. The staff was very friendly, and the whole process--from fitting to walking out ready to ride--took about an hour. The only downside was that goggles and gloves were not included and were quite overpriced, which is why I'd give it one star less. That said, it's Zermatt, and things are generally expensive. In hindsight, it was still better to have them than risk not being prepared on the mountain. Overall, a very convenient and efficient rental experience with great service.

Staff were friendly and helpful and got our gear sorted in minutes. We also bought our lift passes in their shop which saved us having to queue at the lift station the next, which was a bonus! My brother didn't have a ski jacket or pants and was going to buy a set but in turns out they rent ski clothing so he did that instead. The next day we headed straight up the mountain, the skis we were all given were really good but I changed mine after our first few runs for a slightly longer pair. I did this at their shop up the mountain which was really nice feature. We also stored our skis up there overnight on the last few days which saved us carrying stuff back to the apartment in town. Klettersteig / via ferrata gear in the summer is fairly straightforward, and CHF20 for the day --- cheaper than I'd expected. New-style EPS helmet (rather than hard plastic), a harness with speed buckles, and a progressive-tear via ferrata setup; mostly very-new-looking Petzl gear. Front desk staff was polite, if uninterested in dealing with rental customers; the rental desk was much more friendly.

One pair of skis got damaged when skiing on piste with an instructor so we took them back only to be shouted at and told that we couldn't have any more skis we would just have to ski on the broken skis or have no skis for the rest of the week. He was incredibly aggressive and shouted at us and stormed off refusing to speak to us or help. The rest of the staff were incredibly apologetic and embarrassed by his behaviour and had to help us behind his back! Do not use this company, they will take your money for insurance but won't honour it.
