I brought my 2002 BMW here for transmission work. I was concerned because the car is old but I already put a lot of money into it, including a new paint job and I love the car. Tom the owner checked it out and said I needed it to be rebuilt. He said the car was in great condition or he would not recommend that, so I had it done. I am not only extremely happy with the work they did, but I can't say enough about Tom and his crew. Before I brought my car to him, Tom spoke to me and my husband many times, and we were so impressed that we decided to go though with his recommendation. I am so happy I did. The car is running great and it's like new. Tom really cares about his customers and is the most honest person in the business we have ever met. He won't do the job if he thinks it's not worth it. they get 2 stars because the counter guy was ok. Otherwise it would have been 1 star. they had my pathfinder for a month. it wasn't long after the pandemic so I get it. The morning after I picked it up I found fluid in my driveway not a few drops but about a 1/2 a qt. Enough to run a couple of feet down my driveway. Turns out it's fluid from my transfer case. Their first response was, it's probably fluid on the rail. ??? Their next response was, yeah those seals sometimes leak when we change the transmission. they should have offered to change the seals. At that point, I would have paid for it. I also would have paid for the Freon that I had to add so myself. $10 bucks for a can of 134a. At Walmart . It went back to them twice and $5400 later and I still have a leaky transfer case. I drove by today and I realized that I forgot to leave a review. read more

Ok so 3 transmissions later I am in the same boat. Bad trans. Left the van there for a whole day and wasn't even looked at. After the first warranty repair they denied me a warranty on the replacement which has gone bad a little over a year later. Customer service is non existent. They replace shit with shit. I would never go to this place again. Ever. They push you out the door act like they have never met you before after 15 times at the shop and their end product will last you a year at best. I'm convinced they do it for repeat customers. I will never ever go here. I'm a big support your local guy but this place just did me in. sunrise transmissions is the worse possible place to bring your car. I'm out almost 9k and they can't even be bothered to look at my truck. read more

Everything is great about this company and Tom. He's honest and funny and definitely does treat you like family. My nissan was on its way out after 127k miles on the ODOmeter. Instead of pushing me to get it fixed by him he suggestion I should get a new car. Horrible. Took 12 days for them to replace our trucks transmission. Gave us the run around, saying it would be completed in an hour, but took days. Never got a clear answer as to what the delay was. They didn't even bother to contact us to let us know what was going on. Every time we called they just said another hour. When the job was finally finished, they would not offer any kind of compensation or any reduction in price after all our troubles.
