I moved here after I had a fire in the apartment I had lived in for more than 20 years and was #forced to relocate. Before I start, let me say that my health has improved an enormous amount since I began living here; due mostly to the fact that my diabetes is completely under control at this point in time (3/20/24) The Nursing staff @D.G. initiated treatment w/insulin about a month after I moved in in July of 2018 which I objected to fiercely, because I'd never had to be on it before--I have/had 2 Uncles who were both diabetic-the one who is still living went first on insulin-and is now on dialysis 3? X a week and I didn't want that to be my own course so I changed to a intermittent fasting diet which works well for me & continues to. I am back to what I weighed in H.S. & honestly feel pretty fabulous. I just had my 70th birthday & when I moved here I could not have conceived of living that long. more to follow...

I was proven very wrong and regret my decision to have my mother stay here. With the exception of a very small few the only thing most of them cared about Is the money. The people working there I am referring to. They would constantly have infestations of rodents to which I cleaned my moms room when she was at hospital temporarily and found it to be over run with rodent feces I threw a lot out and had to disinfect everything in the room. They let it get out of control in the time I was healing for surgery not able to visit then I cleaned it and while mom still in hospital, it happened again she died a few months after this before I could get her out and I found mice dead in traps half decayed in her room. They dont care about these people. These vulnerable elderly. They also dont respond to the emergency button my mom had on her neck right away could take hours DO NOT put your loved ones here. I miss mine everyday and will always regret she spent her final days here.

Both my mom and dad need Memory Care, and while they were…read moregetting great Assisted Living services in the suburbs, I wanted to move them closer to me (in St. Paul) and also bump them up to Memory Care (a locked facility that will make them food three times a day, provide activities, let them live together in a one-bedroom apartment, provide help to the toilet or walking for dad because he has Parkinson's and Dementia...mom also has Dementia). The nurses and aides at Willows really care about what they are doing, and have worked for the privately-owned company for a long time (it's owned by a brother and sister who are awesome). I LOVE that we found this memory-care place for them, and it's in a great neighborhood--if you're not local, you might think of it as Mac-Groveland, but it's really actually Ramsey Hill (closer to the Cathedral than to Macalester College). It's close to the restaurants on Selby like the Happy Gnome, and close to the grocery store (Mississippi Market at Selby-Dale). I'm 100% glad we got them there--whew!!! :-)

In the house my mom was in one resident died, then another one died shortly after, then my mom rushed to the ER. I started to fear something fishy was going on. Beware: If you report them to MDH or MAARC, the President will keep you from your family member. I am thankful for Ulissa, Ace, Ann, and Brooklyn. I certainly hope the 4 of you move on to a more reputable company and realize the terrible company you work for. It's a cult-like facility and actually scary. It's an absolute shit show. So glad my mom escaped their cult-like prison safely. They actually told me that Red Robin would be her home permanently. Then they pulled a stunt saying it would be shut down and moved her to the more expensive house to steal her money. The other house never shut down and the other 2 residents my mom lived with still live there. They wanted my mom's money. Thank you to the Guardian and the Ombudsman. You saw their true colors. My mom is free and safe and I get to love on her non-stop. The staff at her new facility are amazing and so understanding and loving. Night and Day Difference! Stay away please!
