We just had Josh and the boys back out to paint all of our trim after they did a major dormer…read moreaddition and kitchen remodel for us earlier this year. First - reading the review prior to mine - I couldn't be more shocked. Our remodel was just finishing up as their project was starting and I strongly believe some of what is said below is wildly fabricated. Josh was nothing short of a consummate professional on our job. Did everything go perfect? No - does it ever on a major home renovation project? But Josh made sure every single issue was taken care of. Including when an electrician royally screwed up our wiring. Josh lost a lot of time and money having it redone and didn't even try to up-charge me for the difference despite the lost time, materials and re-do of the job by a new electrician. Even months after the job was done - he has come back to fix minor issues that pop up (grout fixes, etc) and has never charged us one extra penny. I have recommended Hastings to several friends and neighbors - including a friend who has them doing a full second story addition on their house right now and is very happy and our neighbor who runs a major house flipping company (tv show) and he has hired them on to help him as well. We will be having Josh and the boys back soon to remodel a bathroom for us. If anyone wants pictures or more info feel free to reach out to me. Remember that there are two sides to every story and Josh is being kind in his responses to the prior review. I'm the pickiest and most honest customer (just ask josh ha!) and we will work with Josh on any project we have.

Josh was very understanding of our problems, professional and thoughtful. He helped us finalize outstanding permits from the previous contractor - truly going above and beyond. Sonrise Construction did an amazing job on my porch! Everything is top notch and more than what was…read morerequired of them. We had a double deck porch built, screened in upstairs and downstairs. Metal roof with gutters. Adding the metal bars and ceiling fan installation was barely more. It turned out way better than I imagined. The extra creativity they brought and the structural integrity really looks amazing. They made sure everything was properly done, above and beyond what code would require. Michael was who I mostly spoke to. He always returned my calls and was very professional. He was super honest every step of the way. One of the workers, Justo (I'm probably misspelling that), was a near constant perfection machine, going over every detail to ensure everything was done just right. And the cleanup afterwards was super tidy. Anyway, you can't go wrong using this company.

We hired this company because of a neighbors recommendation. It was a costly, horrible situation…read morethat we continue to have to remedy. It started with a wooden fence were the boards were apparently hard to find. They used nails that were too long and had to be sanded down. The screened in porch and deck expansion was horrific. They continued to ask for money up front until I had them call from where they needed the materials. If we paid them, they usual disappeared for days. After the initial agreement, Michael disappeared, avoided my calls and emails, and made excuses and straight up lied about things. His brother worked hard but eventually disappeared as well. When we had someone come in after them, we found out the quality of the materials as well as the craftsmanship was horrible, Brother blamed brother and the people they hired quickly left due to not being paid. What disappointed me most was that they use a company name that should come with trustworthy, honest people and work.

We have worked with a variety of contractors and Stratton exceeds them all. Are they the cheapest in town? No. But we have learned that a cheap quote doesn't equal the pain and strife of dealing with a whole lot of issues along the way. Stratton is professional, responsive, and quality. They always did what the said they would and let us know if there are delays and issues. We did go over budget and timeframe, but that's hard not to do when you are renovating in 2021. Special shout-out to Scott the Project Manager who is the easiest person to communicate with and an all around pleasant person. Also Regina was great when handling our bills and answering questions.

I initially opted to wash my hands of this company and not leave a review but after finding out…read morefrom a friend they'd posted photos of our home on Facebook as examples of their work, I felt the need to chime in. The final paint job is not their work, it's mine, because his crew did a horrible job on it. Paint on the ceiling, all over the vanities in both the upstairs and downstairs bathrooms. I repainted and repaired nearly every surface they touched because whatever compound they used to patch holes started peeling from the walls (although they hadn't sanded or properly patched to begin with...merely painted over leaving huge marks all over our walls. Some holes weren't even patched and some screws were left sticking out--see pics.) Not to mention the fact you neglected to install gaskets on every single water fixture--three new faucets and all three leaked. Two new tub fixtures and both moved and had to be repaired after you left without completing a final walkthrough. My dad found two of the three drain pipes for the sinks leaking in the vanities. In the upstairs bathroom they'd actually installed the wrong size gasket. And they weren't just a little off; it was twice the size it should have been but instead of going out to buy the correct size to do it right, they shoved it in and left it. A toilet your crew left marked up with a black, hardened mess, deep scratches on our closet doors, terrible install on our kitchen backsplash? Even the small refund you ultimately paid us doesn't account for the time and work and additional contractor we had to bring in to fix what you did. Brand new vanities weren't covered before they painted, paint left on our new tile because they didn't cover the floor or take care around the shower surrounds--very basic things that ANY contractor should do, they didn't. They actually left a couple of trim pieces simply propped up against the wall and never bothered to attach them! A few weeks later, I was washing dishes at my kitchen sink and heard water trickling in the ceiling above me. After calling my husband down and trying to figure out what was going on, he suggested I go upstairs into the second bathroom All Trades renovated and pour water into the overflow drain. Sure enough--there was a huge splashing sound in the ceiling above him. Lucky for Jim and All Trades, we discovered their improper install before it was too late and yet another leak caused major water damage. I do NOT recommend this company. I also suggest you consider removing the photos of our home from your social media accounts as they do not accurately reflect the quality of your work.

I have zero knowledge about foundations, so I was completely vulnerable to being upsold. Jim came out and spent over an hour walking through every single item with me. He is extremely knowledgeable and, most importantly, honest. He could have easily sold me on $5,000 - $7,000 worth of work, and I wouldn't have known the difference. Instead, he did the exact opposite! He explained why everything was actually okay and taught me how to monitor the areas myself. It is so rare to find someone who prioritizes the truth over a paycheck. I will 1000% use Jim for any future foundation or waterproofing needs. If you want an expert you can trust, call him!
