We were having no luck trying to get his phone number and contacts, etc. rolled to the new phone and decided to go into the store. What a SHOCK, we were treated horribly! We were told that "because we have Verizon Pre Pay" they couldn't really help because that is a "help yourself, you're on you're own" service. WHAT?!!! Are you kidding me?! I asked how we could get in touch with a person at Customer Service and were told to just keep calling and pressing '0' over and over and eventually we would get a person. WOW! The "boy" who waited on us, had taken the SIM card out of my husband's new phone because he didn't believe it came with one. On our way out, he held out his finger and said, "You won't get far without this, better take your SIM card". What a horrible disgusting experience! I worked in Customer Service type jobs for many years and would never have dreamed of treating a CUSTOMER this way! All the other, FIVE employees were just standing around kind of snickering.

Didn't have cause to contact them until the internet speed was slow...like 4 download and 6 upload...yes, that is correct, the upload was faster than download. In the country, I have few options. Was tired of dealing with it and I could tell their customer service model had changed. Have since gone with Starlink. I cancelled with Centurylink using their app about a week before the end of the billing period and it showed me a prorated amount. I was waiting for the online amount to adjust. It didn't. Called customer service and was surprised to get someone domestically. She said my cancellation order didn't go through but that she could see I tried to cancel using the app...didn't have an explanation on why it didn't go through. Told me the prorated amount. I asked about paying the final bill and was told I'd receive a paper bill in the mail. Waiting for that paper bill, I received a "courtesy" email with an amount due that was more than the prorated amount. Using Chat, I chatted with non-domestic customer service reps and discovered they charged me a late fee. Long story short, and after chatting with a supervisor, they will not remove the late fee. Why would I have paid the full amount when I was told it would be prorated and a paper bill was forthcoming? Not my fault (now my problem) their billing system would not update the amount due to reflect the prorated amount and they would have had to refund the overpayment...and probably good luck there...more time and effort on my part. I paid the bill, minus the $18.00 late fee and filed my complaints. Not sure what happened to them, but steer clear!

Them passing the cost of upgrading to there consumers. I was promised that when called and having it turn off I be prorated and it be 25 dollars if turn off then. Then they call back tell me owned whole 83 payment. Trying to get a last full payment out of me. I had no internet. After 3 calls arguing with me for most part calling me lier. If they had any sense they made me happy and do as first promised. I would of most likely returned as a consumer again someday. Now can not because of the way treated. I make the payments for other elderly family members in town. When they get there new cellphone I will get them a cheaper internet alternative also. It was so easy for them to do right thing. They needed to fleece one last time. Now they will end up losing total of 3 accounts. In a town of 300. Also will be telling my friends where got cheaper internet. If that not bad, to top things the outside box left smashed taped with ripped out screw holes in siding. I was planning to put the emergency line back in for a disabled person care for now can not with them. Oh they said they talked to him in a second call to me ! He turned it back on. He paraplegic and can not speak. Nice try !! Classy

The tech was never there when I called and never did return my calls. He either lies to the owner about what was happening or the owner himself is not trustworthy. Because what I was told was absolutely not true. I eventually insisted on taking my PC back after 2 weeks and it was not repaired. Not the way to run a business. There is zero chance anyone is choosing mediacom over competition. The ONLY reason people "choose "…read moremediacom is because of no actual choice. Also Don't be fooled by Mediacom "Total Care". This is a department that seems very trained in "legalese" and are depending on customer ignorance to push service problems back on the customer. The only reason the "Total Care" email is spammed all over social media, reddit, Google/Yelp reviews, etc is to give the illusion they are fixing the customer issues. They simply aren't. tl;dr - In my opinion (and others), this department is a waste of time. My advice is to avoid Mediacom if you can. Sometimes you get lucky and their service works great but as someone who spends a lot of time on the internet, their service is very subpar for the price.

After 2 years of arguing and using Webmail, with both companies blaming each other and Apple, I couldn't take it anymore! I switched back to Mediacom, so now I'm tearing out what little hair I have left!! The service was installed in mid-May, and the cable is still not buried!!! I have called, texted, emailed, chatted, and even went into their Iowa City office! All I get is apologies and excuses! And the worst thing is, their Customer Service phone lines and chat ring in the Philippines! Nice people, but they do not have a clue!! At least Imon had USA-based Customer Service!
