Visited this Cinemark theater this past weekend to watch The Long Walk. The seats don't recline, but they're comfy and in like-new condition with adjustable arm rests. The place also has a clean lobby and auditorium, decent sound and picture quality, standard concessions offerings (like popcorn, nachos, and pizza), sufficient service, and plenty of parking. No frills, just a simple stress-free movie-going experience I can appreciate. read more

I wanted to update my review. My last review was 7 yrs ago and I gave up and started going back to updated theatres. I heard they got new seats so we decided to try them again. They have assigned seating now which was one of the things I was asking for. The other thing was reclining seats which they don't have still. However; the seats are new but still do not recline but they are comfy. The only downside is there's still not a lot of leg room which makes it difficult for seniors. The staff is way more friendly and considerate. The bathrooms are clean. The popcorn is still good. Since this theatre is in our home town I was hoping to make this our new go-to theatre but I'm not sure about the seats and the leg room yet. Good job on the improvement. read more

Lots of first-run movie selections, and they seem to show them a few weeks longer than AMC. There is easy parking. The theater is a little run down and the carpet has seen better days. It's fine. read more

This place is essentially the same as other Century theaters which isn't a bad thing. Really simple, reasonably priced movie theater that's clean and plenty of parking. read more

Never again. Had to walk out the movie because of a group of middle school boys terrorizing the theater during the movie. Yelling, throwing food, shouting profanity... making a point to make everyone uncomfortable as they laughed about it. The employees all seemed to act as if this was a normal occurrence. Staff need to monitor the theaters better! Make the drive to Pleasant Hill or Walnut Creek century for a better run theater. read more

We came here for the first time yesterday to catch a movie. We typically hit up AMC, but opted to come to Century instead as we didn't want to deal with the massive post-holiday crowds in Emeryville. We arrived for a matinee showing, so we fortuitously had nearly the entire theatre to ourselves. Several of the seats were either stained, sticky, or were broken. But we were easily able to move around until we found seats we liked due to the almost deserted theatre. My wife used the restroom and stated that 4 out of 5 stalls were not usable due to doors that either did not close, had huge gaps after closing, or were missing toilet paper. On the plus side, there was ample parking in the private lot here when we arrived. Though I imagine it gets full fast during big blockbuster showings. read more

No air conditioning! We didn't have an air conditioner so when it was a very hot day we decided to go to the movies to stay fresh. But the movie theater room was hot and stuffy. We were the only family in the room. I wanted to talk to the manager but didn't want to miss the movie. They either have poor management or no air conditioning. I've never been here before and came to watch Inside Out 2 at 8:15 pm. Also, never have I ever experienced D-Box seats either, so this is a learning experience-LOL! I asked for assistance, and Madeline, who works in the box office, went above and beyond and came over to our auditorium to assist us on how to navigate our seats. Such a humbling moment, LOL! I took my little sister to see a movie this morning. I wanted to take her to a nearby movie theater closer to us but that other theatre did not look good. The photos of the chairs and couches that they have looked so dirty, so, we decided to come to Century 16 instead since our visits here have almost always been a positive one. My family and I enjoy coming here. I find it to be clean and well maintained for the most part. I know that in the past, certain areas (such as the restroom) was unkept but management have really done a great job with making sure that staff keeps everything clean. Good selection of snacks if anyone would like to get anything and a small game room. read more

I moved to the area in the spring and still have my Cinemark Movie Club so I used it this year and every time I visit, I try to give it a chance time and time again. Tonight, my experience was the final straw that I have to give folks warning. To the credit of the staff, it's not their fault. I think out of all the (surviving) multiplexes in the Bay Area this is the theatre if you want these to happen to your movie going experience: 1.) on a Friday evening you'll get school kids loudly giving commentary on a movie you didn't expect them to be at (like 6th graders yelling 'skibidi toilet' every moment during...Gladiator 2?!) 2.) constant cell phone usage (without fail). Your movie going experience will include TikTok audio, bright screens of folks shopping on Amazon and endless text notifications. 3.) people taking selfies during the movie (yes, this has happened TWICE on two separate visits.) 4.) broken seats (theatre 8 - row P, theatre 7 - row G) 5.) toddlers running up and down the aisles in the theatre 6.) couples fighting loudly then stomping out yelling 7.) flying popcorn. It's thrown around a lot here, especially evening shows. If you're okay with these during your movie going experience, then you're all good. Otherwise, take the trek to a different theatre. Anywhere but here. Trust me. read more

Went to see The Wild Robot with its now Oscar nominated sound and score. From the previews, the spoken sound track was loud and the music track was so quiet like a whisper. It made for a surreal trailer experience of basically only talking. I've seen The Wild Robot in theaters before so I knew what it should sound like. Every big emotional moment was basically muted. I told management, and they never fixed it. I'm sad for all the people who saw this beautiful movie and didn't get to experience the big emotional moments at all. Everyone should be refunded. read more

My daughter and her friend were trying to watch a anime movie and turns out it was rated r and they were kicked out. Me and my kids have never had a problem with this theater and rated r movies so why care now? Also I have to mention that I did not get any refund of the tickets?? read more

Contemplated this theatre to be my new go-to theatre as its the closes Cinemark theatre to me. Went to watch Argylle. Pros: Empty parking lot, not crowded Cons: old seats Please upgrade the seats to luxury recliners!! First time at this movie theater. Lots of parking spaces. I bought tickets online and they just scanned my phone when I arrived. It's a bit dark inside the lobby area. I went to the concession and bought a few snacks. Theater is big enough and didn't have to walk too far for restroom or anything. I don't think they force you to wear masks inside the theater so some people have it on and some didn't wear inside the theater. Seats are comfortable enough. read more

I went to see the Little mermaid opening weekend. Very underwhelmed with the Lack of merch and advertising for one of the biggest films of the year. No big posters, no mermaid buckets or cups like most theaters have been offering. But 3 stars because when I do come, the lobby is always clean as is the bathrooms. It's a nice theater but I often feel underwhelmed here & in many ways doesn't live up to its potential. From the lack of nearby restaurants to catch dinner and a movie to the minimal merch available for big box office movies. I feel like it's just ok. read more

We have been visiting this theatre for over a year now, depending on what's playing and the times playing. I'd like to say that I've found the interior to be cleaned up since my last review. We still come at the end of the day so naturally the place has been abused, but it is being kept cleaner and that makes it much more welcoming. The attendants, from ticket taker to house keeping have all displayed a much kinder, warmer welcoming giving one the over all feeling that they are genuinely happy you are there. We enjoyed the absolutely BEST Starbucks coffee drink ever at this theatre. How did that happen?! We also took a D-box demo experience and decided that for those action packed movies that are destined to be epic, we'll spend the extra money to get that extra experience! I'm very happy to say my opinion has changed for the better. read more

YELP 100 CHALLENGE 2017 - PART 3: 36/100 Movie date night with Hubbers! It's been awhile and I'm so glad we ended up here because I've been dying to try them pao de queijos! So, Hubbers and I got our usual popcorn, drinks and those cheese balls. 5 pieces for $3.25. Wasn't too bad... ... until they served it to me in 2 plastic water cups. Watda... they didn't even have containers for them. And what made it even worse is they were NOT good. They tasted like they've been in a warmer for days. The only thing I tasted off them were OLD. Boy, were they extremely dry!!! Otherwise, the movie experience was great. But take my word for it: AVOID THE PAO DE QUEIJOS!!! (They should really call them Pao de Quei-NOOOOOO!!!) read more

Super clean and friendly staffs. They helped me picked the best seats & explained the new safety guidelines. Each rows were blocked off in front and behind us. The 2 seats beside my friend & I automatically got blocked off after I picked our seats. They scanned the tickets without touching it. I did saw someone wipe down the restroom, when I was using the it. I would feel safe returning here in the future. read more

Love the Tuesday $5 Special, friendly staff and haven't really had any problems. Been here at least 5-8 times. Not the biggest fan of their ancient cloth seats. Also they could do a better job cleaning the theaters between movies. To me the 3DBOX is not really worth the $$. All your seats do is shake every now and then. No big deal! If you sit close enough to them, you can feel the vibration w/ out paying the money. I call it the Ghetto 3DBOX. read more

While in the East Bay between commitments I decided to catch a flick. This location has ample parking but it is on a tiered system was quite a climb up and down stairs if the lower parking lot is full. The lobby has very high ceilings and in the middle is the concessions which includes ice cream Starbucks coffee and the usual popcorn soda hotdogs etc. Downside was if you ordered coffee from one side you would have to walk around to the other register to order popcorn etc. Theatre must get a lot of traffic as there are popcorn spills everywhere and lots of trash cans full. Seats are the "typical" stadium seating kind--no luxury loungers Nothing awful but upkeep, inflexible service and parking knock the stars down. read more

Always a good experience. Can easily find parking, it's in a good area, and the customer service isn't bad. Their concessions are cool, icees, popcorn and kettle corns, candy and ice cream. I think they also do barista stuff and food but I'm never really here for that. Show the latest movies, with plenty of showtimes to catch. Obviously go to the matinee to get cheap/cheaper tickets. The screens and nice and huge, great surround sound. Seats got cup holders, nothing fancy like reclining seats or butt warmers. Come, grab a pop, see a movie. read more

I love the fact that during the week the matinee shows are only $6.75 per person. This is a great way to catch a couple shows for cheap. We purchased the refillable tub and cup. This always make a trip to the movies way less expensive. $4.50 for popcorn and $3.50 refills on the drinks. We use the extra funds to upgrade our seats to D-Box. The service here is cool, and everyone is friendly and helpful. They usually only have one side of the snack bar open so arrive early so you don't miss the previews waiting in line. read more

Where do I begin, 1st the movie I saw was really a feel-good movie and a real good comedy. 2nd What I didn't like about the movie is it took 20 minutes to buy the tickets because they designated seating and what was really funny is over 85% of the theater was vacant. I understand designating seating when it is a blowout movie such as maybe the Star Wars. But when it comes to a movie that was out the day before and they did not have a big response I can't understand why they would take the time to assigned seating. I took my nephew to see Dragon Ball Super for a 12:30 showing. I did not have any issues. I would assume the theater is filled with teenagers at night. I will return. There's plenty of parking as well. read more

I've been here a few times and it's not bad. Staff itself are nice. But i don't believe the place itself is being managed properly. Definitely dirty in which I would blame the people that come here because they have no regards to the place. This particular movie night is the worst and these three people in the theater were the most inconsiderate, disrespectful, Ill-mannered people. They were absolutely loud, screaming and laughing hysterically loud when there's people in the theater. Obviously it's not Century's fault but maybe better security would prohibit and kick out people like that. read more
