Listing agent from this office represented the seller of a property we bought. As the process unfolded, she presented herself to be Ms. aggressive to our agent. She sent demanding emails. After we agreed on a date to close the sale (which we shortened to 10 days out), she immediately began harassing our agent with more e-mails, and multiple daily phone calls... pushing to know what was taking so long !! She verbally questioned our agent as to whether we had "sufficient funds" to buy the property (casting a negative vibe on us personally) , and non-stop badgered him until the day of closing. To say this style of communicating pissed me off would be a gross understatement. It genuinely made us concerned that there was a negative mitigating circumstance that was motivating this childlike style. It nearly prompted us to walk away from the deal entirely. We waited for years to buy a property that met our needs, and to be pushed, intimidated, and bullied by this agent took some of the excitement out of the event. It really displayed a lack of polish, knowledge and was hugely unprofessional. If other agents in this agency employ similar tactics...I would STEER WAY clear. Time for the broker to RE-TRAIN this "tough lady" agent and probably others that are out to sell at all costs. Glad the process with this firm finally ended. read more

Our agent Kathy Laney along with her broker/ owner of the affiliated escrow company Joe Lins of Equity escrow breached their fiduciary duties failing to perform reasonable care and diligence with the selling of our property in Fullerton Ca . Their negligence or lack of security checks and proper escrow protocols allowed fraudsters to manipulate the wire transfer instructions sending the funds to their account in New York City. Great experience with both our real estate agents, Dennis and Marie Bagger and with Equity Escrow. They walked us through the process of selling two residences and two industrial buildings. They answered our call/texts in a very timely manner and were very patient with us when we needed extra help with paperwork. I had to give them at least one star because we did end up with a house but I would NEVER recommend anyone to them. They are nice before they hook you but be aware of any "good intentions" they may have. They are really only looking out for themselves. There are a lot of other realtors out in Fullerton who I am sure are going to treat you much better from beginning to end. Again...stay away from this office and its agents. We used this office, for both a home purchase and the sell of the home. Our agent was extremely friendly, had very many years of local experience and seemed extremely knowledgeable. He was very responsive and the purchase went well. While selling that home a short time later, we learned that there had been fraud only the selling party involved in the first purchase, which cost us $5,000 to resolve. Subsequently, the deal to sell our home fell through just a couple of business days before closing. A contingency that we thought had been released, suddenly had not. Paperwork was not signed by the buyer, somehow. Our agent counseled to accept a certain buyers offer (we had multiple offers) because he was the strongest buyer, turned out (at least claimed) to not be able to get a mortgage at all. While investigating why, we became highly suspicious of the transaction. At one point, our agent refused to give us copies of documents. While we don't know for sure what, or how many, things went wrong, there were many irregularities that made us extremely concerned about either the ethics, oversight, and or attention to detail that is exercised in this office. To us, it felt like individuals involved in the transaction were working toward what was best for them, without concern to what is ethical, legal or fair. We chose to re-list with another office and thus far, are simply amazed at the difference. read more

All we have as consumers is our opinion and our voice... Very disappointed in the performance of this office! Their performance was so poor it took the owner's intervention to try and salvage everything they did wrong. In the end it took an attorney to correct all of the poor decisions made. The most discouraging for me was the fact that once things got tough, the owner Joe Lins, simply washed his hands of the situation and walked away. I have known the principals for Discovery for anywhere from 6-20 years as both a competitor (5 years) and vendor (15 years). Their success is by working from a consistent value set. I've seen many good and bad things happen in the industry during the last 20 years. Discovery has always avoided, by design, the shady practices that damaged not only homeowners buying what they couldn't afford, but also our national economy. They've never reached for the quick buck when many around them were profiting from doing so, and they have consistently taught their agents to practice high ethical standards. They work in the community they live in, and contribute to through volunteerism. They are the kind of people who can look their past customers in the eye when they see them in the community. read more

We bought our home from one of the agents here who represented the seller. We have been disappointed by her performance. Our agent (buyer's) was excellent throughout the entire transaction. The agent from this office made his job more difficult and did not complete a simple task we requested of her. Despite this, we think the agent performed according to industry standards. read more

It's disappointing to read such negative reviews about this office. I had a a really great experience! From beginning to end my agent was friendly knowledgeable and helpful. She diligently went shopping with my wife and I week after week without ever a complaint as my wife and are very picky and were looking for a deal. When we finally found our house and went into escrow the other agent was playing games and trying to get stuff by us. Our agent was persistent and professional and kept the deal alive when the other party threatened to back out. After a couple of months in escrow we were in our home! Shopping for a home is not easy and unless you are extremely lucky for easy going it is stressful. Things happen that are not always positive but I was very happy to have them on my side to keep me motivated! I can guarantee when it was all said I done I was happy to have them in my corner. read more

My husband and I found a property listed with this realtor. So they represented both us and the seller. Won't name names here but our sales agent did not work in our best interest, misrepresented pre-existing conditions of the property that we purchased. After we closed we had major problems with the plumbing and sewer. We reached out to her and she said that the owner routinely had the plumbing serviced. But why didn't she tell us this fact before we closed? When we got no where with her, we went to the owner of the office and he was worthless, didn't offer any help. We're now considering our options. I'd stay away from this office! OMG, just read the other review and - yes - they totally made us use Escrow equity! And when we first had the problem with our sewer, the broker had us contact the home warranty, which refused our claims because it was pre-existing! read more

A horrible office with even worse service. We entered escrow on a house that one of their agents listed. She didn't do the very basics in making sure that the woman who lived there was on title and was able to sell the property. We found out the occupant had dementia, the house was in a trust, (something ANYONE could find out through Public Records) and had no right to sell the house. When we complained to the broker of this office, he tied up our $10,000 good faith deposit for a month and made no effort to help us. He was arrogant, dismissive and rude. In short...we did everything that was asked of us during the sale and never so much as got a telephone call with an apology for their errors. I walked into this Century 21 with the excitement of finding my family a home to purchase. I spent over an hour with an agent explaining what I was looking for, my desired price range, and other personal information required. The agent stated she would begin her search and help me find what I was looking for. I was thrilled and relieved to find some help in purchasing a new home. The agent never contacted nor did she ever return any of my calls. What a disappointment! I would never recommend this place to anyone. read more

Scum bags is not enough to describe this office. I canceled an offer on a property because they were trying to deceive me. I have had to fight to get my deposit back and even then have not received full refund as agreed. The scum bag acting as a Realtor denied any responsibility and left me alone to deal with he escrow office. I will sue their asses if I don't get my money back. Avoid this trap/ read more

I am very surprised and saddened to see any negative reviews about this office. I recently worked with them on the sale of my mother's home after she passed away, and they made this very difficult situation as painless as possible.. Her home needed a lot of work to get it ready to sell. They assisted me with finding very qualified and reasonable repair people, were there when the work was done, and even shipped me some of her belongings that were left in the house (at their personal expense). We had 3 offers in 3 days. The one we accepted was just slightly above the asking price, and escrow couldn't have been smoother. The buyers were very difficult and demanding, but our agent worked with them and got everything taken care of without my having to get too involved. I couldn't have asked for better service, or for more competent, caring people to help me through a very difficult and emotional process. I am now in the middle of a sale with this company...They have been stringing me along for 65 days now and will not let me get out of this deal. They are lying to me every week. The contract was up may 10th and today they again are saying 3 more days. I need help. this could go on for years. read more

Wow - where should I start. I am towards the end of buying a home from a seller represented by an agent (DebSan) at this office and I really wish I would have read these reviews before I bought the house. She has been nothing but terrible and so has the escrow company she insisted on using, Equity Escrow. Beside being rude and downright nasty to us and our real estate agent, she is now refusing to complete the repairs the seller agreed to before we close escrow. On top of that, the house was damaged during the sellers move and she has told us that the damage made after we inspected it, is not her problem. Honestly, it's almost unbelievable how horrible she's been. I keep feeling like someone is going to pop out of the bushes and say this has all been a joke.Oh yeah, and did I mention that when we arrived at the house to check the repairs, the electricity was turned off! She is so uncooperative that the broker of her office had to get involved and meet at the house in order to make any progress with her. I have friends selling a home in Brea right now and they've asked me for her name and info because they want to make sure that they don't work with her, even if she had the highest bidder on their home. That's how bad it is - I've made an effort to ensure that my friends, family and neighbors know and will never use this office or their cohort Equity Escrow! read more
