What followed was deeply upsetting and unacceptable. After gaining access to the home, Ronni completely stopped responding to calls and messages. Without permission or communication, a large portion of the home's contents was removed overnight and loaded into their personal vehicles. We later received an inventory list claiming items had been "sold" or "donated." Despite the home containing thousands of dollars' worth of furniture and belongings, we were told that after fees, we would receive only $800. That check was never sent. This experience involved a complete lack of transparency, communication, and professionalism, and resulted in the loss of valuable personal property during an already emotional time for our family. If you value your belongings, clear communication, and ethical business practices, I strongly recommend finding a different company. Legal action is being pursued.

I engaged Mike for support in an insurance claim. During our discussion I advised I didn't want to…read morework with the insurance company and wanted to be sure Mike would handle and address issues on my behalf. I was not in the mood for phone calls or exchanges of any kind unless it was with Mike. Mike advised if I retained him to represent me, he would take care of everything in about 30 days and I wouldn't have to do anything more than wait for him to do his job. He advised immediate payment on the original claim and in about 30 days he would send an additional check to me based on his negotiation. None of that happened! I was constantly contacted by my insurance company causing far too much stress and every time I told them I was represented by Mike, they advised they had no idea who he was. After more than a month of not being compensated and after Mike advised he would handle things, I had to reach out to my insurance company, and they again advised Mike had not requested any action on my behalf. I told them to issue my original claim payment and to work with Mike on any outstanding balance. At the end of the day, Mike didn't do what he promised. He now wants to threaten me over his mistakes. The negative reviews are real, there was nothing but confusion and mistakes dealing with Mike and although apologies were made, no responsibility was taken.

My parents' 3800+ sq ft home was so full of things that they had collected over 40 some years it took Joe, Heidi, Tony and a crew of at least 4 others more than two months to get through it all, helping donate, sell and recycle everything. Caring Transitions put together five separate auctions to help us with the cost of clearing out the house. I could never have accomplished it on my own - nor without the professionalism, diligence, and knowledge of this team. These are people who truly care. They helped my mom through her anxiety of parting with years of accumulation of things, by providing caring, emotional support as she downsized to a 870 sq ft apartment. The Caring Transitions team eased her stress by helping her identify what would fit in the smaller space and then carefully packing those items. Joe arranged for movers to take everything to her new apartment. Before my mom arrived at her new apartment, Heidi, the lead for the job, had unpacked everything, even hanging family photos on the apartment walls, decorating it with care and love. She created a moment like that which you'd see on a home makeover TV show; I had to hold back tears as my mom and I walked into her new apartment, decorated to feel as much like her previous home as possible. After my mom moved out of our family home and during the clearing of the house, burglars cased the home and attempted to enter one night after the Caring Transition crew left. Because of the Caring Transitions crew's diligence for security the burglars were thwarted by the bolted doors, windows and active alarm system. Being observant, the crew noticed evidence of an attempted forced entry. They not only reported it to us, they also work with the local police! They went above and beyond to insure our belongings and property was safe. Throughout the clearing and Joe's team put together multiple e-Bay style national auctions, targeting specific collectors and websites to help us achieve the best results possible. Joe's communication and transparency was amazing. He kept us informed about the results of each sale. Every piece of furniture, jewelry, household item, and antique sold was cataloged, professionally photographed for the sale and accounted for with impeccable documentation. Joe's contract clearly states what Caring Transitions is going to do, how the process works, and, most importantly, what it costs. Joe made sure we understood what services we were getting from Caring Transitions and how the auctions were to contribute toward the costs of the mammoth clean out of the home. Joe prepared us for these costs, gave us a reality check - setting a realistic expectation for the prices we may get for beloved antiques in an auction and helped us mitigate the expenses. He was open and honest in all concerns. Though not every item sold for the price we had hoped, there were no financial surprises and definitely no ethical concerns. There are few, if any, companies or people that I could recommend more highly than Joe and his team from Caring Transitions of South Puget Sound.
