Each time it was a different plumber, older guys that looked like they were experienced and honest. Now I wonder about that. I had to call him twice for one toilet to come out the second time and twice for a shower to come out a second time to fix the leak They just fixed weeks earlier. I figured it was the luck of the draw all my stuff was leaking until I found out why. The valves were leaking because the pressure reducing valve leading into the house was blown and the was 120 psi pressure instead of the normal 50 to 65 psi pressure. Not one guy from Norm's checked the pressure of the water coming into the house, would've found out the pressure reducing valve was blown, causing all these leaks. Apparently, these valves should be tested every 3 to 5 years and replaced if they're leaking. I did not know this because I come from a part of the country that do not use pressure reducing valves. I Called ServiceXCEL once and they spotted the problem right off the bat and brought it to my attention

We asked Nu-Star Heating and Cooling to replace our failing 25-year-old HRV (Heat Recovery and…read moreVentilation) system with a new one that has similar functionality. Instead, they gave us a downgraded HRV that does not have a summer mode. As a result, our HRV expels cool air in the summer and retains hot air. This is a problem because a) we live on the ground floor and cannot leave the windows open at night for security reasons, b) Some rooms have windows that do not open, and c) We have a relatively "tight house." We told Nu-Star that we would write negative reviews if they did nothing to address the problem. Despite our requests, they have done nothing since March of 2022, and it is now November of 2022. If they change their tune, I am willing to revise my review.

First of all, his quote came in approx $2000 below the next nearest quote (he installed Carrier products, so very well rated and established). We actually got six different quotes, and his was by far the best. Second, even though he works on his own, he is the most dedicated and conscientious tradesman we have ever dealt with! He took approx a week remove our old furnace; replace duct work; install the new heat pump and pad; and change out our existing thermostat. Third, he explained everything (numerous times!) in layman's language, and made everything easy to understand. He was so patient and approachable. He kept us up to date on exactly he was doing every single day, and gave us options where they were available. If you have any HVAC, heating, air conditioning, furnace, fireplace, or other "heat control" questions or concerns, make sure you get a quote or talk to James at ProTemp Control. We hired E and S Heating to install a heat pump that met with Provincial and Federal guidelines for…read morethe rebate program. We were assured that they would install the correct unit. They installed a cheaper unit that didn't qualify and then tried to charge us $3999 more for the proper unit to receive a $4000 rebate. When we offered to split the difference of the lost money they wouldn't take responsibility for their mistake saying that the unit they installed had qualified before but it was actually not on the list for the rebate program. As professionals, we would expect them to know which units would qualify but they said they only have to give us a ARHI number. We were very disappointed in the service we received.

Replaced a very old heating fuel furnace that was at it's "end of life" with a new gas furnace…read more Received a quote from Angelo less than 3 hours from his visit. Becky at the office, answered a few questions and altered our order to include a programmable thermostat with no problems. Sent updated information, and confirmed the install twice, at time of order, and again the day before. Their friendly crew were on time, paid attention to details, kept me informed as the install was happening, answered all questions. They double and triple checked the install. Checked the registers. Insured the gas stove was operating fine before wrapping things up, as the gas was shut off to run a new gas line. Removed the fuel line, shut off the fuel from the old tank and capped it as well. Ran through the thermostat settings. Cleaned up everything and used drop cloths. Place heats quickly, fan is much quieter and can actually be set to lower speeds if desired. The programmable thermostat helps reduce heating costs. So far, I am quite pleased and toasty warm. If I don't update this review, the furnace if working fine. ;)
