My relative had fallen many many times and the response times to alarms were on the slow side. Depends on who the care aid is on duty. I have a relative who has been here for two years already and here's my observations. Re Food: the breakfast does not vary day in day out it's the same old, oatmeal, steamed eggs and half a peanut butter/jam sandwich. Some rare days might get a muffin or scone. The lunches ususually not that good. The fish pieces often are heavily battered. The soup half of the times is good. The main objection I have is that this facility uses a lot of ultra processed food. Perhaps budget only allows for processed food. The dinner if it's not to your liking there's always chicken drumsticks to be had. Re Care: surprise that there's only 1 care aid after 11 pm while there's 4- 3 during the daytime. As anywhere else, there are some good care aids and some not so caring, All the LPNs I have encountered are very good. The care aids some are very helpful and caring. Re Cleanliness: the housekeeping staff does their best with this aging facility But there are mice that runs around the hallways and rooms during the evening. Generally all residents are congregated at the nursing station facing a small TV during the daytime. Easier to look after all at one spot perhaps. Too small an area for too many residents. Nice garden area for seating outside. there a really nice and very caring attending doc here but unfortunately not everyone can have her.

Just recently Little Mountain Residential Care & Housing Society or what it's commonly known as…read moreLittle Mountain Place experienced a violent episode where a caretaker hit a patient in the head causing a major concussion. Abuse is abuse and I think it would be right to have caretaker fired ASAP. The caretaker at Little Mountain Place still works there and I find it extremely digusting that I have to worry about a relative of mine staying there. I would advise people to think twice if they want to take their family members, relatives, or friends to stay at Little Mountain Place. It would be advisable that all patients should wear panic alarms and video surveillance be manditory at this care facility for the safety of the patients themselves. It is sad because Little Mountain Place built its reputation as being safe and friendly for seniors, but from what I witness, Little Mountain place has gone completely downhill.

Came here for a blood test. I made an appointment online on the lifelabs website the day before and…read morewas able to find a time slot for the next day in the afternoon. Oakridge mall was undergoing heavy construction. There's many signs that point to the stairway and up the stairs towards the medical offices area that made it a breeze to find the blood test lab. The staff at this location were great. They were fast and professional. They only asked the relevant questions needed for patient check-in. People who had difficult questions relating to their situation seemed like their concerns were answered and taken care of. Shout out to the people who volunteered to wait on the side who had lots of questions or lost something they needed in their bag and let the people behind them take their turns first. The technician who administered my blood test was professional and fast. It wasn't as painful as i thought it would be and it was finished before I knew it. The only downside is that this location is pretty busy in the weekday afternoons. When I arrived, the place was very busy. There was one or two chairs left in the waiting area and there was a queue that spilled out into the hallway. As far as I know, they accept walk-ins but the wait was about 45-60 minutes. You'll still have to wait awhile even with an appointment. I came in 5 minutes early for my appointment but i still had to wait 4-5 minutes to queue to check-in and another 20 minutes in the waiting room. The other blood test lab i visited last year on Fraser St. took me in almost right away when i came in for my appointment and there was no queue to check-in. Note that there is no free wi-fi available in the medical building or reading material provided so you should probably bring something to occupy your time while you wait. Overall i don't really have any negatives to say for this location except for the long wait times due to it being so busy.

I had an appointment for bloodwork today and found myself waiting almost 10 minutes to check in…read morebecause absolutely no one was available to assist me. Then I had to wait 40 minutes with 3 people ahead of me. There were two people working (as far as I could tell) working in this busy office, with very 5 minute increment appointment slot filled for most the remainder of the day (and I had to wait a week for this appointment time). This is the least personnel I've seen yet working in any Lifelabs office of any size and considering those two people also have to do all the administration it's laughable. When I left the lineup of people waiting to check in was 6 people deep and almost every chair filled by waiting patients. By not providing proper staffing levels are doing a big disservice to the patients for which you claim to want to provide a good customer service experience. I've seen a noticeable decline in the quality of care provided and most of it is down to staffing levels. These skeleton crews simply can't keep up. You should be increasing your workforce, not decreasing it.
