I want to give shout out to Tom and Eli, who came to fix my washing machine that I had bought from Central Radio. They worked really hard at fixing it so I did not have to buy a new one. I appreciate all they did. They have the greatest personalities and I will recommend Central Radio to all of my friends like I always have. Your customer service has always been top-notch and these two get five stars from me. Mary Ellen Palmer Dalton mass read more

My mother bought a new power lift chair for my father who has had a stroke. This chair was delivered and very uncomfortable for my father who spends 24/7 in this chair. Even sleeps in it. After one week of trying the chair we tried to return it. Central radio refused to even try to help us with a return. They only tried to sell her another chair. It's awful. I try to shop local, but it's hard when your local store won't do anything to help you. read more

My refrigerator died in April during a freak heat wave. With 90 degree temperatures and guests coming for a visit, I needed a new fridge, fast. I didn't have time to shop around, so when Central Radio said they could install a replacement the next day, I agreed and shame on me for not doing my homework first. I paid $2700 for a fridge that sells for $1900 at the big box stores. I don't like shopping at the big box stores, and always try to shop local, even if it's a bit more money, but Central Radio is just plain greedy. When our washer, dryer, and dishwasher need replacing, I'll know where not to shop! read more

This has been the absolute worst customer service experience of my life. I wanted to shop locally to put money into the local economy. I paid a bit more than if I'd shopped at a big box store but I thought it was worth it. I initially ordered a unit that the salesperson incorrectly measured. It wouldn't fit down my stairs because I had such a small margin where it could have fit. No big deal. About 2 months later I ordered another set through them that fit but when they installed it, it was defective. Obviously I was frustrated but I had them take it and order another. I was told they'd rush it by the sales person and that I should have it in two weeks. That was a lie. I didn't get it until 1.5 months later. They said it was a new unit but I'm fairly certain it was the same because one of the delivery guys let slip that they'd just "fixed" the original. Lo and behold, this one is broken in the exact same way. The delivery person refused to take it back and said my only option was having a service technician come out. I was offered a $100 discount on a $2500 set for my inconvenience. They also threw in an extended warranty, since I was nervous at the longevity of the machines. I appreciated that, although I don't think it was sufficient since I'd probably spent twice that in laundromat fees while still paying off the units (essentially I didn't get a discount since I had to use the laundromat even though I had a brand new washer and dryer in my basement). The service tech came and was very nice but said he'd have to come back another time with parts. A few weeks later he came and "fixed" the unit. The washer and dryer worked for about 2 months or so, and then broke in the same way. This time the defect caused damage. I called because I wanted a replacement. They offered to replace the unit but take away the extended warranty. This doesn't seem like good service from my perspective since this was offered as a solution for the MAJOR inconvenience of all of this. When I spoke to their customer service reps, they all had snotty attitudes, were argumentative, mocked me, said I didn't make any sense, and had zero empathy. One person said they shouldn't have to take it back since I'd had it for 6 months. I find that hilarious since I had it for about 2 months working and only after it was "fixed" by their technician. I am not a rich person and buying my first washer and dryer after purchasing my first home as a young woman on my own, who worked very hard to earn my money was a big deal for me. The last customer service rep I talked to said he "didn't understand" when I explained if you pay full price for something, it should work and not be damaged. I'm not sure what is so hard to understand. If I buy a set of plates and one is broken, I should get a new set or a deep discount. From the first day I owned the first unit they gave me it hasn't worked correctly. They keep bringing up the $100 discount as if that makes up for the fact that I spent $1200 on a dryer that I can't use and is now damaged as a direct result of the inherent defect it had. I will admit I got pretty upset with their customer service dept, but only after I had people repeatedly act rude to me. The ONLY person who has been helpful through this was the owner but he refused to talk to me this last time. Hopefully this can be resolved before I am forced to go to the better business bureau and also contact the credit card company to dispute the charges since I STILL have a defective dryer and a washer that I can't use because I have nowhere to hang clothes to dry. I'll have to go spend even more money at the laundromat while making payments on something unusable. Bottom line: if you pay for a brand new item, it should work and be in pristine condition. If it is not, it should be taken care of and the customer service department should be apologetic and helpful rather than smarmy and argumentative. I wish I had recorded the conversation, I've never had a customer service person act so unprofessional to me in my whole life. read more

I have bought a brand new washer from this company which started making a ton of noise only a couple of months after having it. I had the owner call me to reschedule a service appointment that I waited 2 weeks to get and the owner was rude and started yelling at me. Then hung up the phone on me. I would not recommend this company. The fact that the owner would speak to a cus in that way is mind bogglin. read more

Wendy helped me get many items at this store - she is wonderful. She knows so much! And is extremely helpful. Best service of any furniture store I've been to in a long long time. We already have plans to go back and buy a fridge and dining chairs. The store has many levels and it's easy to get lost looking at furniture, so give yourself some time to explore this place. Their website had 1,000's of pieces though. Delivery takes 2-3 weeks just be aware (unless they have it in stock, they deliver for free). Parking super easy. Good store hours. Also has TVs and other appliances. read more

I have been a loyal Central Radio customer since 2013 when bought our living room furniture set from them. Since then, we have purchased a clothes washer, a queen sized bed, and soon I will go to them for a clothes dryer. They have a wonderful selection available and will help you find exactly what you are looking for. They are very honest and have AMAZING prices! One of the best things about them is that they deliver for free and take away whatever old appliance or furniture you had before at no cost! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Central Radio for all of your furniture and appliance needs! read more

Since moving to the Berkshires 15 years ago we have replaced all the appliances in the house some more than once. The first dishwasher we bought was a high end LG from another source. It was about the worst we've ever had. Central Radio told me they don't sell that brand for several reasons. When the LG failed and cost us a new floor, we decided to go with tried and true GE. The people at Central are knowledgeable, patient, and funny. They do not work on commission so no upselling; tell them what you want or need and they will do their best. We've bought two washers and dryers in the 15 years. installation is quick and competent and they clean up after themselves. Recently, a range we bought there in 2005 had the oven stop working. I replaced the element, no luck. Checked the manual for troubleshooting and learned that the control unit, the likely culprit, cannot be repaired and is no longer made. Panic! The stove is built in and is an odd size. Called Central and they sent out Tom the repairman. He's a treasure. He arrived on time, was friendly, and assured me the unit could be fixed. We sent it out to some place {Partsimple} in Illinois. Sent Friday, back the next Wednesday. Tom came out, installed the unit and checked it out. Sadly, I tried cleaning the stove and somehow got the lock mechanism to malfunction so the oven wouldn't unlock. Called and Tom came back, fixed the problem and told me what happened. Try to get that service from a big box store. We're off today to Central Radio in Dalton to look at beds. They are our go-to store now and forever. Best sales and service staff around. read more

I highly recommend Central Radio. The salespeople know their products. They're incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, funny, and competent. Each time I've needed a new mattress, box spring frame, or appliance, this is my go to store. Can't recommend it enough. read more

I purchased all new appliances for my kitchen. Patrick was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and courteous. I had a question regarding the refrigerator. I was in Pittsfield, and could not get to North Adams before closing. Patrick took and sent me a video that answered my questions. Patrick worked with me to schedule delivery around work being done in new kitchen. Everyone involved was a pleasure to deal with, and I would definitely go back! Thank you Central Radio! read more
