I probably come up to this range about once a year to shoot the Abbotstown NRA .22 Indoor…read moreSectional. I am not a member, but have been attending this sectional match for the past couple of years. So I can only attest to the indoor .22 range. This sectional is an annual occurrence ran by Neil Kravitz, and is regulated by NRA rules. The range itself is pretty nice. It is a .22 only 50ft range. They just installed overhead heaters which make a world of a difference at the range. Drafts from the outside are very distracting during the match. Plus, if I wanted to freeze on the range I'd shoot OUTSIDE! The indoor range is on the 2nd floor on top of the club room. The club room is also very nice. There is a kitchen area and plenty of table space. This is usually where the shooters hang out awaiting for their relay. This range is quite a haul from Baltimore. You'll go through Hanover to get there. Be careful with your GPS, it usually leads us astray so if you are not familiar with the range, print out the directions and allow yourself plenty of time!

First the general manager called and apologized and said they would offer me a discount once the owner came back from vacation. The gentleman that owns this clownfest called to tell me that the continued employment of his worthless staff was an internal issue. Oh. Ok. Had a new rest put on my bow, after watching a tech and the owner fiddle with it for hours I finally get it back and within two weeks the cable set up for the rest shreds down to a thread resulting in damage to bow cables. If I hadn't noticed the damage and shot another arrow or two it could've resulted in even more damage to my bow and a wild arrow being sent down range. When brought into shop questioning how this brand new rest install may have broken and damaged my property, owner insisted I was questioning his knowledge and attempting to argue with him. Persisted to call my rest garbage and claim I was attempting to argue with him. "Why would you put this garbage rest on your bow" "do you put bows together everyday?" "You shouldn't question my knowledge" owner also mentioned under his breath as he was working on my bow how he "couldn't wait to get the fuck out of here" I attempted to be as level headed as one could be when treated like a nuisance but resulted in taking my things and walking out of the store unassisted and displeased. Incredibly unprofessional and downright unsettling to treat a customer and fellow archer this way. I will never return to this shop again and I urge you to seek greener pastures with more understanding bow shops in your future.

Don and Sam from SAFE FIREARMS TRAINING are to be highly recommended as trainers in all things…read moreFirearms related. Both men are well versed in current training methodologies, legal considerations, and historical perspectives in the world of Firearms and Personal Protection. I recently attended a Maryland Wear & Carry Renewal class that they held, and one of many considerations I came away from the experience was a realistic and sobering perspective of the reality and responsibility of self-defense with a Firearm. Understandably, a one day eight hour class is a bit arduous but with their presentation style incorporating a myriad of real-life videos (gleaned from body-cam police sources, surveillance videos etc.) , real time discussion with the students present, and concise informative powerpoint graphics (many of which I actually photographed for later reference!), it was time well spent. This particular class incorporated/required live target shooting to demonstrate competency and accuracy on the range. There was one particular student who I believe had very extremely limited experience with a Handgun. Students were given the opportunity to practice fire their own Pistol or one of a selection that Don brings to the Range. Sam took this particular fellow aside and within a relatively short period of time gently guided him to a level of competency so much so that he achieved a near perfect score on the qualifying target!,,, a true testament to Sam's ability to quickly access a student's needs and ability to convey guidance for a good outcome. What is unique about SAFE FIREARMS TRAINING is the enthusiasm exhibited by Don and Sam,,, they actually ENJOY their profession and it's clear that they want their student to share their passion! Don has gone out of his way to make the "paperwork" elements of the Maryland State Police Carry Permit process as seamless as possible, he offers to all his students the opportunity if necessary to meet one on one with him (on a date and time THEY SELECT from his personal calendar!!) to complete the online application process utilizing his computer skills for those behind the wall tech-wise! SAFE FIREARMS TRAINING is not just a once and done operation,,,, they really care about their students and they seem to live the acronym of their title. Second Amendment For Everyone (SAFE).
