I have done everything…read morethere such as swimming in the State Swim Meet for Special Olympics Ohio and upcoming Indoor Winter Games at Ohio State, Sync Cancer Swim for Pelotonia each year, and doing the 50-meter pool swim; volunteer for Ohio State swim meets along with Men's and Women's B1G Big Ten Championships, NCAA Division I Championships (Women's in 2008 & 2018 and Men's in 2010), and more there. It is a fast pool that is home to The Ohio State Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Teams, and The Ohio State Artistic Swim team. McCorkle is frequently used for swim and diving meets. My goal is to jump off the 10-meter platform one. I love swimming at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion so much when getting an opportunity to swim at a meet or gathering.

The pools are pools, mostly, except... there's this one pool. I call it the "Fun Pool" but I doubt that's an official title. But it is a pool. And it is fun. It is filled with built-in pool toys, like a whirlpool tub (spin!) and a series of chain-pull showerheads (splash!). It's a fun way to cool down from a hard workout over at the RPAC, or just a fun way to swim if you don't want to do laps in the "real" pools. McCorkle also houses saunas- a great combination is to hit the sauna, then hit the pool, then hit the sauna, repeat. I don't know if you're supposed to do this- it's probably unsanitary in some fashion and it's probably unhealthy to so drastically alter your core temperature or whatever blah blah. I love it. So yeah, you could say McCorkle is just a pool facility- and you might as well, if it keeps you from crowding up my fun pool! But really, if you are a student at OSU and you aren't using this place (and the adjacent RPAC) then you are really missing out on some of the better things our fees have paid for in recent years.

The drawback of the pool is that there is debris after a storm. Diving blocks could be installed by the lap lanes for swimmers to practice their starts for races. The locker room has a bad odor. In order to be up to date, the club could be remodeled. The facility is a nice place to spend a summer day at, especially when it's warm and sunny. It's a perfect place to lay down and relax or be in the pool and swim or play games and have fun. The employees are very affable. The attire the lifeguards wear is first rate. The food at the concession is pretty good. I've eaten lunch here a few times. The hamburger is delicious. At the eating area, it's nice that a TV monitor is there. If you're not in the mood to read like many people do while sitting or don't like the music being played, you can relax and enjoy a television program on the monitor. Despite some drawbacks, the Northwest Swim Club is a fine place to spend a summer day at to relax and to swim.

There is also a large, separate baby pool that is perfect for toddlers. There is lots of grassy area for spreading out. Also lots of shade trees for when it gets hot. There are also picnic tables and a large shelter. For kids who are interested in some fun summer competition, Northland also has a swim team for grade school ages. Prices compare well to other community pools. This one has a very family friendly atmosphere.

I visited the Marysville pool for the first time since living here this past Friday and was pretty…read moreimpressed. I figured the pool would be smallish, but it's actually pretty big. They have a huge main pool with a shallow, deep end and lap lane. They also have a mini kiddie pool with sprinkler type fountain in the middle. They have a concession stand/snack bar but I didn't purchase anything. The lifeguards blow the whistle every 45 minutes and all kids have to get out of the pool for 15 minutes. Adults can continue to stay in. If you want a chair you have to get there early. A single 1 person pass for the year is $90, however I just paid for 1 visit and the charge was $7.50 which I didn't thing was "that" bad. The pool water was nice and clear and free of bugs, floaties, etc. Lots of kiddo's, but that is expected at a public pool. I'm looking forward to going again really soon to get my "sun on"!!

This is a nice park adjacent to the Aquatic Center. There are some nice amenities like sports…read morefields, a fitness station, and shelters. The draw that caught my attention when driving by, however, was the beautiful wetland area. There is convenient parking right next to it, and a combination boardwalk and paved trail that loops around. Right now, the beginning of August, there were a lot of beautiful blooming plants and flowers, and a lot of wildlife were utilizing the area. There was a very large pack of ducks, and an egret up in a tree. What a beautiful little spot!

A couple of cons: there is no longer a dedicated lane for laps (disappointing for my husband) and because the grass was wet/muddy after all the rain, there were people who placed their chairs on the sidewalk, therefore blocking the walkway in places (annoying). In doing so, you selected a window and you could enter any time during it. It's a nicely sized basic pool with swim lanes, space to play, and a little mushroom with spray. The pool is located close to the Tuttle Community Center, where there is a parking lot available - you just cross a little bridge to get to the pool entrance area. It is also nicely accessible from the Olentangy Bike Trail.

With a sweet, super-shallow world for the little ones including all sorts of spraying water, fountains and a little slide, to larger slides for the bigger kids and a 13' (i think it's 13' at least) deep lane/diving pool for everyone in-between. Staff is very friendly and courteous, and the whole place is clean and well kempt. My only criticism, and this is more from my whiny kids than me, is the limited candy selection at the snack bar! Great place to spend some quality family time on a summer afternoon. Translation: take your kids here and you might get a couple of hours to sit quietly and go to your mind palace while they run around and make each other tired. Highly recommend!!
