This large, green park is situated on the edge of town, along the Crow Creek (also named after an Indian tribe.) The park is along a big loop that you can barely fit a car down most of the way. There are plenty of places to pull off in the shade and park and get out and explore the varied landscape of Chautauqua Park. The park offers a wide range of activities, from frisbee golf, to horse and hiking trails, to soccer goals, and playgrounds. There's lots of areas to just explore, with big hills and the stream that meanders through the park. There's a little something for everyone here. The park is large enough that you can get your own area to play, or meet up with others to relax. The park seems to have a lot of history. It's clean. Not very well lit, but still feels safe since you're in this small town.

Kinda the only reason I went was to see the caves. Theres alot of litter as well. I didnt get to see inside the building, but the rock climbing literally has boards nailed to it so its closed I guess. No mask requirements but I mean the only thing you can do it walk through paths, everythings out of order or closed. They have benches everywhere so you can enjoy the view of the many closed sites. If you want a workout rather then an experience, here's your wet dream.

What I enjoy most is the opportunity to make photographs and videos of the wonderful wildlife found so abundantly there from Canadian Geese and woodpeckers, to fox and deer. Not to mention the frolicking squirrels. The park is well maintained, run and appreciated by all. A little sanctuary from a busy, bustling life, in the stillness, tranquility and wonderful, warmth of mother nature's embrace. Many thanks to all involved in making it possible and keeping it going. It's a priceless treasure I think we all take for granted when we should be thanking our lucky stars each and every day.

This Waterworks park is named…read morefor the fact that the low end of the lake is the Fairfield Waterworks, where they're pumping the water and filtering it and probably adding fluoride and such, and pumping it to your homes. So don't go peeing in the lake, okay?! They have public restrooms set up by the side of the lake so you don't have to do that. The restrooms look like concrete bunkers, filled with crude graffiti. There's swimming in the lake, with a cordoned off area with buoys and a beach volleyball net and some picnic areas. There's some trails that go around the lake. Waterworks Park has ample parking and good signage to let you know where to park and where to go. It's a nice green park with lots of grass and trees for shade. There's plenty to see and do around here. It seems like it'd be fun to ride horses around here!

I used to play on the playground when I was younger and really enjoyed it. I like eating at the tables. It's one of the only parks in Fairfield that has them and I really appreciate that.

Beautiful park with plenty of scenic picnic areas, a campground, boating access, and hiking…read moretrails...we went on the shorter, woodsy Honeybee Hollow and Loop Trails--about one and a half miles total. The trailhead is located across from the park office. The Honeybee Trails aren't too strenuous or hilly, but you won't see the lake (there is a longer trail around its perimeter, about seven and a half miles). The main park road was a little difficult for us to find (GPS took us to a back entrance which was closed) so if you end up on Agency just make sure to take the right turn if you want to find the beach and park office (which is off of Racine). There also wasn't any signage for the park until we were right at the Agency Road entrance. The drive was well worth the visit, though.

We popped over this weekend for some fresh air and fall family photos. I am always just in awe of how busy the park is year round. Since my last review both of my kiddos have had the chance to take school field trips out to visit the Conservation Education Center, which is located at the park. It offers year-round educational programs and workshops. The staff is knowledgeable and the kids always have a blast. There's something for everyone at this gem. A bird blind for bird watchers. Access to the entire shoreline for anglers. Nine miles of trails for hikers and cross-country skiers. Seven historic bridges for photographers and families looking for fun family photos :) A large campground for campers-- available April through October. As well as a handful of picnic shelters (available via reservation). And, of course, Kent Park beach, my family's favorite (open Memorial Day through Labor Day) -- it is pristine, free and a great time. Overall, FW Kent Park is a wonderful place to get outside and clear your head. Drive over and explore today!

The park boasts a swimming beach, a nice trail around the entirety of the lake with benches if you want to stop and enjoy the views. There are many picnic shelters around the park, and a gazebo in the middle of a prairie area. I recommend taking a hike through the prairie trails. I'm also partial to taking a hike through the forest as well, or around the lake...heck, try them all at whatever length or difficulty you choose! There is a large playground area as well as a campground, so something for everyone. It's common to see many people out around the lake fishing and kayakers exploring the water.

I just discovered a driving range, $3 a bucket, bring your own clubs. A giant soccer area. tennis courts. Outdoor fitness equipment. Softball fields. Frisbee golf - which looks incredibly hard for some holes. I think I remember seeing volleyball nets somewhere. Oh and what draws me is the running path that goes over the interstate to the high school on the other side and beyond. I do miss the apple trees. We used to collect them and press them and make cider. I know you can also rent the gazebos for parties through the parks and rec division. Lots of open green space!
