The place is a cute coffee shop, and it has that going for it at least. I sort of felt bad because…read moreI'm a coffee connoisseur, and our coffee was dark tea, if that. We had stayed the night in the room above, and were thrilled to stay at a very nice Airbnb with a coffee shop just below.
The owner is nice, and gave us a slight discount for staying guests. I appreciated her hospitality, but as I give reviews on here about ambiance, service and food, I can't lie.
While staying here, I learned that she will be remodeling the place, and hopefully when she does she considers a bit more comfortable seating rather than just the stools up against the wall, with no outlets to plug into either. There wasn't many tables available either, so this will need to be addressed.
The food, besides the coffee, there was only breakfast sandwiches (already made), how nice and convenient, right? But with an exception, they were on lightly toasted Texas toast, with slightly scrambled wet eggs, and double sausage with American cheese. All of this sandwich wrapped in an aluminum foil, and placed in a warmer for the guest to grab it and eat it. As you can imagine it was one warm and gooey mess. I didn't take a picture of the sandwich, but I can tell you that as I chewed it the bread stuck to the roof of my mouth. I did order a berry turnover of sorts, but it seemed that it was just slightly baked with very little golden brown. Ultimately, this was a place of mere convenience for us, but I wouldn't have wanted to have driven from I-70 all the way into Blackwater for this breakfast.
