I recently thought i would give this gym a try, i had heard a lot about it thru the baseball…read morecircuit and that they had recently expanded. I wanted to take classes and was told the owner offered and taught some great classes so why not give it a try! Well let me just tell you, all the praises I heard thru the grape vine seemed to be the opposite from my experience. When I arrived I was not impressed by the dark creepy parking lot that i had to park in back of because a restaurant operates in the front decently lite part of parking lot and then I was not sure which door to enter thru so went in by the batting cages and had to cut thru a crowd of parents and aimlessly figure out where I was going, thankfully some parents helped me. Once I got upstairs, settled in and the routine started, the instructor(who was not the owner as I was expecting it to be) did not seem like a well trained class instructor as I have encountered elsewhere in the past, I felt as though they lacked knowledge of technique and thought to myself someone is gonna hurt themselves in this class, then the instructor proceeded to continuously take out their phone and was texting and taking what im assuming where videos and pictures of us, which made me super uncomfortable. I could not wait to get out of there! All in all the facility itself was nice, clean, and new(upstairs) but i dont like to feel uncomfortable or affraid of injury based on lack of trust and knowledge of a instructor. And I most certainly do not want to be made into a advertisement for there marketing This gym is not for me, I wont be back!

On her first day, my husband arrived he could not find our daughter nor could the staff explain/account for where she was. Additionally she was signed up for tennis and was playing by the pool. The center refunded us for the week and the week we had registered in the future after clumsy and half assed apologies, "sorry, we have a lot of kids to watch". This was a horrifying and inexcusable experience. Children should be easily accounted for at a summer camp, without hesitation, not several moments of several staff stating, "we don't know where she is." Horrifying. We are avid tennis players and were planning on eventually joining Paxton but now I'll be staying far away and will also be sure to pass on this experience to others in the community.

This place could be so good, but unfortunately the people making decisions must think it's already…read moregood. Truth be told. It's sub par. I am not a member here, although I would be if it was a better maintained establishment. A few months ago I inquired about hosting a pool party for my sons 8th birthday via email. I did not receive a response. I followed up with two phone calls over a four day span, where two different people took a message. I still did not receive a phone call back. So I emailed again, I was finally responded to with some half ass excuse as to why I hadn't heard back from her. We basically set the party up, I went in to pay my deposit and I show up for my sons party. They told me when I got there that I could set up tables outside by the pool, or upstairs. I chose upstairs because it made the most sense. While getting decorated upstairs I noticed how hot it was, there was some jimmy rigged air conditioner unit that did absolutely nothing to cool the room. My mother in law verbalized to the woman in charge that she was upset about it, but I tried to have faith that it would cool down while we were outside and apologized. While we were outside there were No accommodations set up for the party so we ended up taking over tables that other peoples things were at. The umbrellas they have set up on two occasions blew the umbrella out of its stand and hit my 65 year old father. An hour and a half later, the kids and their parents headed upstairs to what felt like a sauna, the air was hot and stuffy. Kids just came from the pool and were dripping wet with sweat. For the last half hour of the party the children and parents were miserable, I voiced my frustration with the woman in charge of the party as we finalized payment. She tried to tell me that's why they gave me the outdoor option. I told her why we chose inside and had I known that the air conditioner would not do the work, I would have easily chose the unsafe option with flying umbrellas. I told her it was absolutely unreasonable for us to have been forced to sit in that, she took $50 off my balance but in hind sight I should have never booked the party here to begin with. Aside of that, the pool was great and the Kids had fun, but to have to pay $350 to pretty much run my own party with no help from the staff... I'm completely unsure what I actually paid for.

Fraudulent company and worst management ever, all to swindle your money!…read more Worst gym I've ever been to and worst company I've ever dealt with. Doesn't even deserve one star. They lied to me about the fees and what the gym offered when I signed up at Shrewsbury gym, lied to me that I could pay the monthly payment using a credit card, then charged me a late fee when they thought the account they charged was a checking account and didn't go through. I gave them my checking account and paid the late fee. First strike. They told me there weren't any fees except the monthly fee when I signed up, and that I paid the monthly fee when I signed up. But there was an annual fee and what I paid when I signed up was only the start-up fee. So I was surprised when they charged a large sum for the annual fee on my account. Strike two. I signed up at Shrewsbury but had been using the Hadley location so I transferred to the Hadley location. The Hadley location gym stinks and smells like the bathroom plus they don't offer any classes that Planet Fitness claims to have. They told me the so called "classes" were just telling you how to use the equipment, and the personal trainer just did that and nothing else. So they don't actually have a "trainer", just employees who tell you how to use the equipment, which obviously every gym person knows. Strike three. My 12th monthly payment should be in April, but the workers and manager lied to me that my last monthly payment was in May, and after that I could cancel without a fee, but after I cancel I would still need to pay the fee for the last month. So after I filing many complaints to the regional manager, they told me that my last payment before I could cancel without a fee was actually in April, which what I was insisting to the manager who worked at Hadley in the first place. So planet fitness workers either can't count above ten or they use all sorts of deceptions to get you to sign up and then swindle your money. Strike four. When I was trying to negotiate with the regional manager, he was extremely aggressive, verbally violent, and just rude when he hung up on me purposely while I was talking. Strike five. I'm out. I put a stop payment on my account and will never pay a cent to Planet Fitness ever again. The regional manager said that they will continue to charge my account each month plus charge me late fees and then send it all of it to a collection agency. I'll dispute the charges with the credit score agencies and sue this fraudulent company if I have to in the end. They don't treat and respect their consumers like human beings. My experience with Worcester Common Fitness has been extremely disappointing and ultimately led to…read moremy membership being terminated after I attempted to address an issue. One of the biggest problems is the lack of professionalism from staff. On multiple occasions, employees have been on their phones instead of assisting customers and appeared unprepared to handle basic questions about services. When I approached staff for help, the responses were not customer-friendly and often came across as irritated or dismissive. The initial dispute stemmed from the fact that the employee I interacted with did not appear to be properly trained to handle the request I brought forward--despite the fact that other staff members I've dealt with previously were able to assist with the exact same issue without any problem. In contrast, this situation was made unnecessarily difficult. Part of the issue involved my 16-year-old guest. Rob and another staff member claimed that my guest was required to have his own credit card on file, rather than being processed as a guest under my account. This directly contradicts how other staff members have handled the same situation for me over the past month, where they were able to provide quick and straightforward solutions without any issue. This inconsistency points to a lack of proper training and internal communication. During my most recent visit, I went in with the intention of resolving the issue calmly. Instead, the interaction escalated. The staff member involved was not easy-going or understanding, and the situation quickly became unproductive. What was more concerning was how the situation was handled by the general manager, Rob. Rather than acting as a neutral party, he was, in my experience, combative and condescending. He made accusatory statements toward me before backtracking and then asking questions, which gave the impression that he approached the situation from an aggressive stance rather than trying to understand it objectively. He repeatedly tried to control what I could say and how I could say it, insisted that I answer his questions in a specific way, and criticized me when I did not respond as he expected. Rob also accused me of violating company policy, despite the fact that I had been following the same process for bringing in my guest over the past month without any issue. This policy concern was never raised previously, which made it feel selectively enforced and introduced only during this dispute. Today he also tacked on another supposed company policy violation that I have witnessed others commit on the daily basis. He claimed that it is against company policy to bring in a guest and train that guest, but from what I observe on the daily basis, there are groups of people who are not members, coming in as guests to be trained by a member of the gym who are not gym employees. And this is very common and prevalent, so I am confused as to why this policy is now suddenly only applying to me. On top of that, I never once verified or claimed that I am training anyone, they have not verified it, but he made the accusation before trying to backtrack the accusation to ask me if I am training anyone... just overall very biased and confrontational. At no point did I feel like I was being treated as an equal customer or that my perspective was being fairly considered. Instead, the situation felt one-sided, and the decision to terminate my membership appeared to support an employee who was not equipped to properly handle the situation. As a result, my membership was terminated without what I believe was a balanced or professional review of the circumstances. Overall, I would not recommend this gym to others who expect to be treated with basic respect, consistency, and professionalism. Customers should feel heard and respected, not dismissed or talked down to. I hope management takes a serious look at staff training, consistency in policy enforcement, and how conflicts with customers are handled moving forward.
