This is the high school I attended. I graduated very highly here in 1999…read more The school is a nice place. Nice grounds, nice equipment, nice building. I thought the teachers were very good. The problem was and remains the administration in Keller, and the school board. As happens way too often in Texas, the religious right controls this place. It is sad that we had to deal with the occasional anti-science teacher, or that kids would be prevented from attending graduation because of a single joint in their car. Also, at least one play has been canceled because of "inappropriate" subject matter. Also, when I was on the HS newspaper staff, the administration routinely censored out very harmless article or cartoons. Bleh.

They even helped my little girl get over her fear of waring glasses. My daughter was so shy an nervous about having to were glasses to school this year an would hide them in her bag pack. Well her teacher Mrs. Gonzales had a wonderful solution. She began wereing her glasses instead of contacts for a couple weeks. She even got onother teacher to do the same thing.This helped my baby understand that she was not alone an lots of people wear glasses. My daughter proudly wares them now with no shame. I am so grestful to the staff here. The tutoring they offer has been so beneficial to my other daughter an i have seen her improve greatley. I have also been to several events an fieldtrips that are so much fun an full of smiles. Keep up the good work it makes all the difference. I wish i would of got this kind of help an incougment when i was younger. We need more schools an teachers like this.

We moved our son to FWC in the beginning of his junior year from an excellent public school system…read more He struggled through his ninth and tenth grade years and was barely passing classes. He is smart, and did well on tests, but couldn't understand the importance of daily work and putting in the effort on a regular basis, so he would fail the class until the last minute, when he would turn in late work enough to get his grade to a 69.5 and pass by the skin of his teeth. FWC doesn't allow late work (at all) and it shocked him at first, but he began doing his work regularly. In October of his senior year, I got an email about the honor roll, and wondered why I received it...until I saw his name there in black and white! He also received Academic All-State honors for Track & Field in the spring of his senior year, and he is now going to play football for Hendrix College, which is a D3 high-academics institution in Arkansas. FWC helped him immensely to improve academically.

The Keller Center for Advanced Learning is some good folks doing good things for the community…read more They are helping to prepare students for life after school and/or to be ready for college as well. There are a variety of disciplines they offer here that include automotive repair, health care, legal professions, and more. This is a great resource for the Keller community and proof that public schools can and do keep and even surpass private education in some cases. Review #2137

When I ask the coach if she was cut or what going on. He replied he did not know there was a 13th child. Wow how convenient. This is unacceptable and I am appalled by this situation.
