They even state from the top of their company History page that they "have been making your pickups and deliveries and providing millions of miles of ACCIDENT FREE service for over 88 years. 88 years? Accident free? That is quite a statement. This is why we were shocked when they handled our damage claim with such negligence. One of our loyal customers received three of our products via shipment with Central Freight Lines. Once our customer opened their shipment they saw the damage and emailed us pictures. At this time we reached out to Central Freight with a complaint and placed a claim with the company. Our claim was denied because according to their records, the delivery driver made a "clean delivery" and the claim was not filed quickly enough. No apologies or partial compensation - just an email from Central Freight stating that our claim had been DENIED. This company was hired by FreightCenter.com to move my shipment of my life across the country and while their pick up and transport of my goods was just fine the delivery has been completely awful. First I was told that they couldn't deliver my possessions without a advance call, but no one at either company made that obvious to me until it was too late. Then when I called the next morning first thing I was told that the driver would call me himself when he was going to make the delivery. 5 hours later I call this company to check that everything is ok. Instead I'm told that the shipment never made it onto a truck since no appointment for the drop off had never been made. Which goes against everything that had been told to me back in the morning. Now I'm going to spend time tomorrow sitting and waiting and hopefully I will be able to pull a crew together in time to move this into my apartment. I don't know how a company like this can stay in business since after 10 year in the entertainment industry receiving shipments on time almost all the time, the fact that this is soooooo hard for them to pull off is mind boggling. To anyone commercial or personal who think s about using this company I hope you have time to kill while waiting for your shipment. read more

Worst trucking company out there they have drivers who just cut you off with no care in the world for the safety of others on the road one of there drivers almost merged and had my car under there container with a child in my car. I had to slam on my breaks and basically scraped the sidewalk I honked at there driver then there driver merged In back of me and was trying to ram my car!! Filed a complaint and Pat Chism Manager - Loss Control of Central Freight Lines, Inc. Completely denied there driver ever being in the area when I took pictures on the trailer/tractor and claimed there drivers story contradicted mine and she refused to do anything about the damages to my vehicle and I'm sure no disciplinary action was taken on there driver who could of killed me and my passengers! This says a lot about this company's morals and cares for public safety having drivers like this on the road representing there company!! read more

My brother died while he was an employed by Central Frieght. He faithfully paid his insurance premiums and was never in the hospital until his motorcycle accident. Central Freight has not paid his hospital bill and a lien has been placed on what little property he has left. That means the hospital will get most of what my brother owned because Central Freight will not pay his bill off. This was May of 2018 and they will not return our phone calls. It is wrong for a company to take an employee's insurance premiums but not pay the bill. It is a bad thing to do to a faithful employee and their family. This has happened to other employees who have been turned over to a collection agency because Central Freight hasn't paid their medical bills. read more

After 2 days of calling numerous times throughout the day, I finally talked to Linda and when I asked her if she was the one to speak with about paying a bill, she hung up on me! We transfer materials between 4 locations throughout Texas but I can guarantee you that Central Freight will not be moving anymore of my materials. Linda can take the credit on that decision being made. What kind of idiot hangs up on someone trying to pay a bill? Answer = Linda. 5 claims for damages totaling $915. It should be more but I was told one claim was not done properly so they reduced it by over $500 dollars. DO NOT USE CENTRAL FREIGHT FOR TRUCKING NEEDS. They damage the products, they are never on time and their custom service is horrible. I have a freight claim in from June and it's still not paid. It's November and I refuse to let it go. They damage the product and are in possession of the product and I get no response from the claims department manager, Kelly Perkins. We used Central Freight to deliver a shipment. As it turns out the shipment was going to an area far from a city. Typically what happens with a shipment like this is Central Freight will hand it off to another shipping company for final delivery. The company the shipment is being handed of to does not come into Central Freight everyday to pick up these shipments. The problem is we would call into Central Freight and the customer service reps would promise the shipment would be delivered by the next day. This went on for three days. After explaining our frustrations we have found the Central Freight reps on the phone did not care and were properly trained. If we could have been aware of these issues from the beginning, we could have dealt with this issue in an appropriate manor. Very poor customer service and unwillingness to help. Horrible tracking, horrible customer service, needs an updated system, did not follow the original company's delivery promise. Our Company ships many LTL shipments daily. Most Companies offer average service; i.e., nothing to remember. Occasionally, there is an outstanding driver with outstanding, on time service, although these instances are rare. I can,honestly, state Central Freight Lines is the worst carriers we have ever encountered. Their service is so horrific that we have threatened to drop a major supplier if they ever use Central Fright Lines again; their lack of delivery on four non-related deliveries has cost our Company about $20,000.
