The endodontist here is downright rude and has absolutely no bedside manner. I came in for an…read moreevaluation for a root canal and was visibly nervous -- shaking, anxious, and walking with a cane. I clearly expressed my anxiety and asked about sedation or gas because I believed a root canal was oral surgery. Her response was dismissive: she said it's "only given to patients with anxiety," while I was near tears and nauseous from anxiety. When I stated I was feeling anxiety and would pay for the sedation, she said they weren't equipped and didn't have it. During the numbing process, she was hurting me and repeatedly misrepresented what I was saying. I was trying to explain that the area was not numb enough to proceed because I could still feel sensation when my tongue touched the area -- not that my tongue itself wasn't numb. Instead of listening, she snapped at me and said, "You're so sensitive!" Yes -- I was anxious, in pain, and scared. That's the point. She also repeatedly made me stand to rinse and spit, which might be fine for most patients, but I was walking with a cane. Bending over a small sink was difficult and slow, yet she showed zero patience. At one point, while I was rinsing, she looked at me with visible disgust and said in a malicious, condescending tone, "You can use the napkins, you know -- they're right there." I was humiliated. She lectured me for being "uninformed," and when I tried to explain my misunderstanding, she became even more hostile. She kept starting and stopping the procedure, repeatedly asking in a threatening tone, "Do you want me to do this or not?" By then, my anxiety had been completely escalated by her, and I no longer trusted her to work on me. I left with a partially numb mouth. I immediately found another endodontist who was kind, professional, and was also a lot more thorough. I also contacted the dentist who referred me to her. I made it clear that she threw him under the bus regarding the filling that caused the nerve inflammation, and that her behavior was rude, unkind, and condescending. I also told her directly that part of her job is to guide and calm patients -- not belittle, intimidate, and escalate fear. This woman should not be working with patients. She is cold, abrasive, and completely lacking compassion. I genuinely don't know how the other two lovely women in the office tolerate her miserable demeanor. Avoid at all costs.

On my new issue of upper left pain, I received fantastic advice and care from Dr. Borinos. My intense tooth pain is gone, resolved. My dentist insisted that I needed a root canal on two teeth. Dr. Borinos did her diligence - her analysis, scoped out what my dentist thought was the problem. Dr. Borinos put me on a treatment plan. No root canal. Pain gone. I feel great. I have no reservation in recommending the Doctor. I have full faith. Too bad she cannot be my regular dentist.

I was surprised that the exam room had a huge plant that seemed to take up too much space. There were leaves on the floor. After examining me for 2 minutes, she stated, "I cannot help you, I only do root canals. Your tooth cannot be saved". As she was walking out the door, she said see my secretary. I was handed a piece of paper and I was old I needed to see an oral surgeon and that the consultation was $75.00. I told them that the only reason my tooth had cracked was because I waited 2 months to see her. I told them to bill me and I walked out. I was not there for a consultation, I was there for a root canal. I found Dr. Borinos rude and the three minutes she spent with me is not worth $75.

Do not come here. I…read morewas looking for a new local dentist. They were able to fit me in, so I stopped in. They said they take insurance and they were listed on providers that my insurance company covers. WP Dental told me I had to pay for all visits upfront in cash before I could be seen and then they would contact my insurance company. I have never experienced this before and this is very illegal. I went in for a follow up because I had jaw pain. I waited over an hour to be seen and I ended up walking out. I do not recommend this place due to price gauging and lack of professionalism.

We scheduled what…read morewas clearly a routine yearly teeth cleaning, which is fully covered under our dental insurance when performed by an in-network provider. We both have been treated at this office before and intentionally returned because they advertise participation with our insurance plan. During this visit, he was never informed verbally or in writing that the dental hygienist performing his deep cleaning would be billed under a different dentist who is OUT OF NETWORK. This information was not disclosed prior to treatment, nor was he given the opportunity to decline or make an informed decision. Only after the appointment did he discover that the services were billed under an out-of-network dentist, resulting in unexpected charges for what should have been covered care. At no point did anyone explain this arrangement, obtain his consent, or provide cost transparency before proceeding. This practice feels deceptive and unethical. Patients should not be expected to navigate hidden provider assignments or surprise billing within the same office especially when they explicitly choose an in-network practice to avoid these exact situations. Trust and transparency are essential in healthcare. Unfortunately, this experience demonstrated a serious problem in informing the patient. It's not the money that we had to pay out of pocket, it was the bait & switch that was done.

My son is on the spectrum and receives dental care from a local provider that accepts Medicaid and…read morecharges patients nothing. They have performed a root canal on either the tooth Dr. Chiao treated, or an adjacent one, I'm not sure which. Recently, he complained of pain in the area and a dentist at the provider told us that he needed a root canal on a tooth they would have a problem getting to and recommended Dr. Chiao for him. I made an appointment and we went to see her, for what was supposed to be just a preliminary visit, yesterday. As soon as the doctor looked at his X-ray, she discovered that my son had a major abscess that needed immediate attention. Instead of an initial visit followed by a series of treatments, she got immediately to work on him. During the process, she vacillated between the possibility of requiring three visits or powering through the work she was doing and keeping it to two. Ultimately, she completed what she started yesterday and we will only have to make one more visit. So, he was in the chair for nearly 90 minutes for what was occasionally very painful work. I remained in the room with them for the duration of the treatment. Obviously, I can't say from personal experience, but from close observation I can say that that Dr. Chiao was as gentle as she could be and did everything possible to help my son through the procedure. She completed the work she started, obviating the need for an additional visit, which we really appreciated. A day later and my son is pain free. Can't ask for more than that. From watching her work and interact with her assistant and my son and seeing the interim results, I have concluded that she is a terrific dentist. No one wants to have endodontic treatment, but if you need it, she would be an excellent choice and I am happy to recommend her.

Her rush in and saying emergency, emergency concluding that I needed a root canal, the situation disallowed me to make a clear decision. I was in her office for over three hours or more which is questionable. After a week the pain intensified so bad that she insisted I needed second root canal on tooth 30# which never hurt me. I never once complained about to my dentist. Dr. Chiao promised me and my mother for me to get out of the pain I needed second root canal. As a result of two root canals and multiple Novocain injections into the gums performed in her office, everything I learned about my Neuropathic facial pain Trigeminal Neuralgia. (Do not allow Dr. Chiao to perform multiple root canals without getting two or three professional opinions. Dr. Chiao IGNORED the fact, all the nerves in my right lower jaw were highly irritated and I needed immediate medical attention, neurologist / nerve medication because I was suffering in terrible pain from the first root canal. Not every patient can take multiple root canals procedures in a short duration.
