And since my prescription is expired a little more than a year and since the glasses were purchased just over a year, the best they would offer me is 50% off a new prescription for the crappy ass job that they did in producing this one year-old set of freaking glasses, to prevent it from getting scratched. 23 years. I will never, ever, use this company again.

I like the flexibility of them offering walk-in or appointments, but remember to bring a book if your a walk-in! The staff was friendly and the doc is AMAZING and super-thorough. I will definitely keep coming back. They offer "digital imaging," which is not covered by insurance, for $29 ($19 every year after). I asked if the images are included in my patient files when I change duty stations. I was told they are not released or included if you request copies of your medical file from them unless you want to pay $92.00, however another eye doc can request them. I asked if they charge the new doc a fee for releasing them and I was told "not usually." Hmmmm... I already paid the $29.00 fee for the digital imaging BEFORE I asked these questions and now regret it, because I do not own the images. I requested my money back for the $29 fee and had no issues.

At 3 months old he has been waiting for glasses for more than a third of his life. Originally the nearly $500 glasses were supposed to take 2 weeks. After constant calling through week three and four we find out the color of the frame was discontinued and a new color would have to be chosen. Would have been nice to know. Fast forward a week and surprise! That color is now also discontinued. With my daughter and grandson leaving in days they asked for a refund on the frames. Guess who doesn't do refunds. This place is a joke. 2 week glasses are now going on 6 weeks.

While the front…read morestaff was following COVID-19 protocols, the doctor conducting the eye exams (Dr. William Philbrick) did not. He states to his staff that he refuses to wear a mask due to some study presented to him at a conference he attended. It doesn't matter what study or conference you attended - the Governor mandated wearing masks in public and public-facing businesses. Not only that, but then he tells my children to take off their masks when conducting the exam. A board-licensed doctor essentially asked a child for consent to make a medical decision when the child's parent was in the waiting room. When I called to make these appointments, I specifically asked if they practiced the COVID-19 protocols, and they advised me that they did. On the outside looking in, it seems that they do, but for the doctor that never came to the waiting room, he obviously does not. This is ridiculous as a parent of children who are categorized as high-risk for COVID-19. I only found out afterwards, when my kids and I were eating dinner, and I called the clinic to question if this was true, and they confirmed it. After all that, I asked for my money back, and instead of giving me my money back, they charged me twice!

Oh my gosh where do I start. I lost my Grandaddy. So I ended up keeping a few things. His very thick prescription glasses were one of the items. I was very nervous and embarrassed to call and ask VisionWorks if they could help me take out his glasses and change them into sunglasses (sorry for my run-on sentence) When I called I was treated so kindly, Ms Edie helped me by double checking what I wanted. She offered to put some "Demo lenses" in. I was ecstatic that they were willing to work on a frame that didn't come from them. I drive up there tell a Mr Jacob what was said on the phone, I didn't even need to finish my explanation (insert tears here) they were all aware of what I requested and were waiting for me to arrive. They asked me what colors I would like I really didn't know I said black/brown. I asked them how much this would cost and they shook their heads and said "at no charge this time". So I leave before I cry in the store. I'm beyond grateful. I get back a few hours later and they are ready, another man Mr John helped me to adjust the frames to fit my face a bit more. And I tried them on and here I go crying in VisionWorks. I can't even describe how much this touched my heart. I miss my Grandaddy terribly. But this store has helped me with my grieving process and I'm sure there aren't many stores that can hold that title. Sending ALL of my Love and Thankfulness.

I came back two weeks later to pick up my glasses (still happy), and after about 3 more weeks I received a text saying I had an outstanding bill. I thought it was a scam and reported it junk. I received an email a couple of days later again saying that I owed $133 for my visit. Confused, I called the number at the office and went through the options. I was sent to an offshore service that barely spoke english and could not explain in detail why I owed more money AFTER my visit was compete for almost a month. After another call I was able to receive another version of my billing statement. It STILL did not detail why I owed an additional $133. The math didn't even work out on the document. I called the number, and again was sent to an offshore call service, and all they would say is, "your insurance didn't pay what we thought." I have reluctantly paid a bill that came a month after I had my appointment and follow up because I don't want to affect my credit. Because I still have not been able to have a detailed explanation of what was/was not paid by my insurance to explain why I owe the additional payment I will 99.9% certainly be going to a different eyescare provider in the future. The medical care was great....the billing/customer service after was awful.

Our son began wearing glasses at age 6. He began wearing…read morecontacts when he was 10. By age 12 his vision was such that he couldn't use the bathroom in the middle of the night without needing glasses. Having just moved to the Fay area, we needed to establish care with an eye doc. Happened across Eye Medics website and saw this crazy thing about SleepSee lenses. Immediately realized this might be an option for our son to not only help slow down his vision loss, but also help with managing glasses, contacts, and (as he had been swimming competitively since age 5) prescriptive swim goggles. Not yet sure about the lenses, but knew the kiddo needed an annual exam. So made an appointment (receptionist was super friendly!) Dr. S needed one reminder to slow down just a tad with my special needs kiddo. And from then forward he did. He was very patient in answering all of my questions about the pros and cons of SleepSee (Ortho K) lenses. And as the receiver of LASIK 20 years ago, I had a lot! Dr. S explained that the night lenses he specializes with aren't typical. He has invested in special equipment that maps out each eye taking special measurement, and then he reviews the report, makes any adjustments needed, and has the contacts specifically made for each eye. Talked with the husband and came to the conclusion of "how can we NOT do this for our child?" The only downside to the entire process was having to go back for multiple (3 or 4?) short visits to ensure the lenses were fitting properly - not because they weren't, but because Dr. S wanted to ensure they were right. This required our son to miss some school. Fast forward three years. Our son is now 16 and has been wearing Sleep See lenses for around three years. THEY ARE MAGIC! The initial cost is a bit steep, but when you consider the cost of glasses, contacts, goggles . . . over two years, it just about evens out! The huge bonus is the preservation of/slowing down of degradation of sight! After the initial investment, the lenses are far less expensive when they need replacing (about the cost of a pair of glasses). The first set of lenses lasted our son just over two years (just as Dr. S predicted) before one lense snapped in half while my son was cleaning it. The second set of lenses took a few extra days to come in (around the holidays) so Dr. S was was kind enough to provide a disposable soft contact lens when mono-vision was giving headaches. This review would be amiss if I didn't also rave about the receptionist, Rose. The woman must have a photographic memory as she remembers us when we walk in and treats us like great friends with a genuine smile and hello. When I've called to get an appointment or ask a question, she refers to some off-subject something we spoke about long ago. She makes it feel good to walk into the office!

This unprofessional doctor does not meet the needs for single parents of various socioeconomic backgrounds . Facts I'm a single parent of 7 year old twins and a 14 yr old son with no adult supports therefore I don't have the luxury of leaving my kids with someone or getting some one to take them to appointments while I'm occupied with the other child. Now if I have no choice and I was informed in advance then I would have schedule early enough to pick one kid up while leaving the other in school but no signs are posted in office, nonething mentioned when you call the number to office and nonething posted on website that would have prepared me for such a visit. So once I brought my child for an appointment I was told that my other kid could not be brought in the back with the child that was being seen yet I had to be present with the kid that he was seeing in the room. So what am I too do , when I'm already at the appointment . he literally felt it ok to have me sit outside of the room with the door open literally two feet from where he was examining my child . I felt embarrassed . So reviewers of this review, is it best for the client #1 privacy to be violated by keeping door open or his issue with not wanting my other kid in the room with me and my child that he is working with?? Clearly in this case, his interest went before the interest of the child and parent, (((so patient being first clearly is not anything that he honors ))) ((. No signs were posted of his "made up today policy "( the name I gave it)) , none thing mention when you call for appointment, and nonething on the website. my kid was not loud, didn't move from they seat. Now I get kids acting out , breaking things disturbing people peace. My child was tired and sleepy. Next incident happened today ,9-18-24 @1 pm. I knew I should have trust my gut instincts because he is not friendly with me, it's as if he has a problem with single black mothers because when I observe him with others he sounds so kind to them but that's not what I get and yes blacks can discriminate against they own race. But I didn't feel like getting a new doctor and it's not like I got to see his hateful ass often so I went today but I received an work call and had to take it , he tells me don't allow phones in his office. I said fine and walked out to the waiting room area , not mad, just focused on the important call. Not one sign on the wall . Afterwards once my son work was finished he calls me to the back I assume it's about my son BUT AGAIN he makes it about himself and waste my time by telling me again about this law . I stopped him in his tracks to address my son care and he tries to argue with me by Bringing up his rules that were mentioned twice . So again , he ignored my interest only to overexert his authority and and opinions over telling me about my son visit. I HOPE HE IS PROUD OF HIMSELF BECAUSE HE MADE IT ABOUT HIMSELF AND NOT ABOUT MY SON!!! Another point, if the law you claim is a law no one abides by it cause I've never been told that by another doctor. why did you engage in me breaking the law by taking me to a room while my kids were unsupervised to discuss the law you claim I was breaking by me allowing you to offer a service to my child while I was in the wait room with the other child. I have never in my life met such a nasty , rude and disrespectful doctor in my life with such strong narcissistic tendencies. I pity what his staff and wife have to go through and it's unfortunate that she had to lose me as a patient because of her husband lack of compassion . His wife and staff have a beautiful personality and He could really take notes from her and the staff that works under him on how he treats single mothers and to think I gave him a good review last year, he gets no stars and I take back everything I said I the last review and I pray God humbles him for how he treats people that are not doctors.
