I have patronized the Central Cafe for many years and today left totally unsatisfied. Our order was for a sampler plate, with chicken wings. Well the first attempt was futile as it was turned back by our waitress as she noted it was incorrect. The second attempt was also incorrect and we turned it back only to be told we would charge 1/2 price. Our order did not contain Chicken tenders and that is what we got, chicken tenders. I expressed my concerns to the waitress and got the bill for 1/2 price. Be careful what you order and don't pay for what you don't get. Not happy and will redirect my business elsewhere. read more

My wife and I heard that Central Cafe has awesome bar pizza so that's why we came. I don't know the area very well, but it seems like there is only on-street parking. Luckily we found a spot right outside. The cafe has sort of an old saloon feel to it. Everything is dark wood but the room is bright and clean with high ceilings and plenty of light. The Central Cafe has apparently been in business for decades. The interior has a lot of vintage touches but it definitely doesn't seem run-down at all. The pizza was great. I had the Buffalo Chicken. It wasn't the best Buffalo Chicken bar pizza I've ever had (that would be Town Spa) but it was a pretty close second. If I remember correctly, we had very good service from the staff. Sadly, we don't live close to Central Cafe, but I hope to return sometime in the near future. read more

Came here with a friend who recommended it and boy was he spot on. Its bar style pizza, came on Wednesday half price pizza, $3 for a cheese. For the price and taste, I scored it 9.4 out of 10. If you are in Middleboro MA and haven't been here, you've been living under a rock. EXCELLENT! read more

Love the pizza but the restaurant is FREEZING in the Winter. The single front door just lets so much cold air in and if you sit in the first 1-3 rows its terrible. We no longer go in the Winter. The food & employees are great. read more

We used to love this place. It was our go to for pizza every week until we found a piece of grill brush on our pizza one time and something we couldn't even figure out another time. Everyone said how great the pizza was and I thought it was average at best. Went in for take out and stood there for several minutes with the money in my hand with no response from waitress. The bus boy volunteered to retrieve my food to the waitress/bartender. She said sure but finish what your'e doing first. We've eaten in and had take out. The pizza is awesome. My kid loves the Mash Potato and Bacon pizza. They have a decent selection of beers and plenty of screens to watch whatever game is on. It does have a townie bar feel to it but the staff are welcoming to all so don't pass it up. read more

Great pizza! It's inexpensive and delicious. Bar style pizza and probably the best around! The last few trips in, it has been busy inside and the pizza has taken a little longer to come out, but it is still well worth the wait! Went in on a Monday with my parents because they love the $2 cheese pizza deal. They also have a good variety of beer to choose from. Met with a friend while we were staying in Middleboro. There was very little parking - we both had to do a few laps around the block before we each found a spot. When we went inside nobody greeted us and after standing there a few minutes we decided to snag the remaining table. My friend had the chicken parm, I had linguica pizza, and my husband had the Greek pizza. The food was good but nothing outstanding. Realistically, I did not see a lot of non-chain food options in the area and other reviews mentioned how it was kind of a dive. So no real surprises here. My husband and I just left The Central. We live right down the street,but for some reason had only been there once before tonight. The food is good, typical pub food. The reason for the poor rating was the service. My husband ordered clam chowder, but it never came. Since the waitress never came to check on us,we asked another employee for it. Our waitress, Ana, delivered it about 5 minutes later and said "You never ordered this. Otherwise I would've brought it." He did order this, and not getting it at first was not a big deal, we just figured she hadn't heard or forgot because it was busy. After that, the service and unfriendliness got worse. She ignored us until we were almost done and our drinks had long been empty. She then brought all the tables around us their drinks before returning with ours. We will not be returning to the central because of this waitress. read more

Central Cafe's beer selection is always lacking, they have $1.50 Pabst Blue Ribbon Drafts which I mostly have opted for, the usual beers on tap, plus some newer micro brews on tap that are pretty expensive considering the atmosphere. They used to have Hoegaarden on tap and to my chagrin they switched it for Blue Moon, but I suppose that makes sense from a business standpoint. The best bottled beer they have there is probably Stella Artois. Many times I asked them to order Carlsberg, having worked in a liquor store nearby and knowing we had the same distributor, yet the bartender there insisted they couldn't get it. I talked to the owner myself and they had it the next week! Unfortunately they never re-ordered. Also I think the owner is racist, judging by the way he acted towards my friends on one occasion. I started going there for the $2 cheese pizzas on Mondays (Tue/Wed is half price pizza), at times the pizza is great, though countless times it has been undercooked and their pizza has a reputation for causing diarrhea. It's like a local joke, and it's true. As for regularly priced food it is decent but expensive. The very last time I went I got the steak tips (around $12) which I enjoyed thoroughly, though should have considered the consequences of before an eight hour flight. Here is a real review...Stopped in and got a pizza, buffalo wings and a chicken parm sub. The pizza was terrible, the buffalo wings were chicken fingers drenched in hot sauce (really gross) and the chicken parm was bits of chicken cutup with some tomato sauce on top. The waitress brought over another beer before my husband was even finished with his without even asking....The french fries were nasty they were cooked in grease that must have been sitting around for a very long time....Safe to say we will NOT return! read more

I had burnt burgers, wrong orders, cold orders, just not good, a buddy of mine bought a chicken parm sandwich and was ill all day, very gross.
