    Made the mistake of stopping in there for gum this morning. I know, pretty awful of me, right?…read moreShame on me. Paying for products the store sells. The lady behind the counter, named Angela, scanned them in and the total came to $3.35. I didn't have exact change but I gave her $20.35. She took the money from me, clearly annoyed. Then she slapped a 5 on the counter and counted out some loonies and about $4 of quarters. As she was doing that she let out about 7 or 8 pissy sighs to let me know she was annoyed. Then she slammed her drawer and left this messy pile of coins for me to gather up. I had been nothing but nice to her, smiling and friendly and not once did she so much as ask if I had another method of payment, nor did she explain she was low on change. I then said "sorry for whatever I did" and her response was a snarky "don't apologize to me, you should apologize to the other customers" and then she said "it's my first day" as if that excused her behaviour. My feeling is that it's not the customers fault if a store hasn't planned properly. Had this clerk so much as explained the situation, asked if I could use another form of payment, etc I would have absolutely accommodated her. I offered to let her take the change back, with the thinking that I could pay another way and she pulled the twenty dollars out and slammed it on the counter and said "take your $20 and go". I never did get my 35 cents back. I later called in to speak with the owner and she answered, saying the owner wasn't there, and that they wouldn't be back for 5 or 6 weeks, she didn't know. She wouldn't give the owners name, or the name of anyone covering the store in the owners absence. Told me I was trying to "blindside" and "harass" the owner when all I did was to ask to speak to the owner. Not sure how that's harassing. I was actually trying to give him a heads up and probably save him customers. Maybe he or she will read this instead. Angela is costing you customers.

But I had another ticket with a $7 winning on it. She claimed she scanned it and it was not a winner and after arguing with her she finally scanned it then gave me my money back. She was rude and inconsiderate. I will not be returning to this location. If you need gas I suggest you go to the Esso across the street.

    I first took my car in for a belt replacement. Later on I got it and it seemed fine but the next…read moreday it started to fray and was basically going to break off. I took it in again and they claimed it was put on the wrong way. They said it was covered under warranty and would put it on right and have it ready by end of day. Ok no problem, but when they phoned me they said there was another problem: the power steering rack decided to explode as they were taking it out the garage door. I was somewhat suspicious of this as they couldn't even put a belt on right in the first place. I brought up this possibility of them maybe doing something wrong to cause this breakdown with the manager. He of course got defensive & rude and said this was definitely not their fault. Afterwards he said he would replace the power steering rack half price and I wouldn't have to pay for labor due to all the trouble & being near Christmas. I found this really strange he said this since he first claimed none of this was the mechanics fault. I of course took the offer cause I was in a rock and a hard place & basically had no choice! This was done December of last year. Just found out my power steering rack went again! I phoned Oakridge and asked about a warranty on this rack which should have been for a year. We compared BOLs over the phone and he claimed there was no indication they had ever done a rack replacement on their BOL!! Therefore there was nothing they were going to do about it. Since I'm in Edmonton now I decided just to forget playing these games with these guys and just go over to a certified auto garage and get it done right. Now I have to pay $1200 for a job that should have been covered under warranty. Will I go to Oakridge Automotive ever gain? Never! Buyer beware and make sure you go to a trusted mechanic!

    I've had a few things fixed from these guys. I noticed they have a habit of saying they can fix…read moresomething that they could not fix. Spent $2000 to fix a ticking noise in the engine.. what do you know, its still ticking. Additionally, they have a tendency to add random services that I never asked for. For example, I went in to get my tires changed and they also replaced my breaks (which I already did 2 months previous) for an extra $100 or so. Today, for some reason my family insisted we go to this place again for a busted taillight. They quoted the job at $160, when we go to pick up the car and pay the bill was $260. When I reminded them what the job was quoted at, the lazy eyed alcoholic behind the counter says, "Oh yeah, now I remember". I swear they have a "idiot charge" button on their register to try and con people out of a few extra bucks. Go here only if its minor repairs and make sure to get a paper version of your quote because these guys will very likely try something shifty. Good luck
