I totally loved my massage with Mira!!! I'm sitting up straighter, breathing easier, and I swear my shoulders are sitting back and relaxed like they know they wanna be. I'm quite particular about what kind of touch I receive and I'm seriously glad to report that I totally trusted her knowledge of the body and felt very comfortable communicating with her through each and every step. I am so shocked! I had a full cranial sacral session with Mira, a first for me. I'd had partial sessions at the end of a massage and it didn't feel like much. I had no idea what all the excitement was about. I tried it anyway... it so incredible!! I will say, I had to be ready to receive this. When I found Mira, I was having extreme lower back pain and hip pain. The pain was making working difficult and even getting to the point where I was barely able to sit. I work over 60 hours a week as a nurse and am repositioning and transferring patients often. My patients depend on me and having this pain makes it difficult to perform at my best. She was able to get me in quickly and the structural work she performed has helped substantially. She had to work through probably 15 years of muscle tension, but she worked miracles. I'm not going to lie, I'm usually not a big fan of massage but in this case it has helped me immensely. Her office space is so relaxing and quiet and Mira was able to explain and articulate everything she was doing structurally. I appreciate her explaining what to expect as she goes and why she is doing what she is doing. The best part was the cranial sacral therapy at the end. My job has me lifting heavy materials, crouching in awkward positions, and making repeated motions with my hands. My back aches, my neck and shoulders were tight, and my hands and arms were at risk of carpal tunnel. I broke my fingers earlier this year and this further compounded my other injuries. Mira used structural integration techniques to relieve me of muscle tension I had been carrying around and compounding. An incredibly healing experience. The space is very calm and peaceful and Mira is very kind with a peaceful energy herself. I wasn't sure what to expect since I've never had structural integration but Mira was very understanding and explained what she was doing throughout the process. I'm so grateful to find someone with Mira's experience for what seems like a chronic condition from a car accident years ago. I've spent so much money and time through chiropractic, massage, acupuncture(which I still love), etc yet never gotten the results I received from SI with Mira. I've always felt my body need more(stronger, deeper massage, etc) but with SI I now understand that my body just needed something different from the usual practices. She got down into the EXACT areas I thought could never be reached and worked out. The session is much more intense and specific to what your body needs and the pressure and points that Mira works with is exactly what my body has needed for years. I was quite excited after reading the reviews here. But somehow my experience was not so good. She seems very knowledgeable and at the start she did some quite painful bodywork. But when she got into the massage, most of the time, I could barely feel anything at all and then there were times when she was not even moving her hands. I thought she may have been doing some energy therapy but It just felt like wasted time. It was really frustrating. I came in for specific issues that weren't addressed which is very disappointing when you spend $100. I have seen Mira off and on for several years when I lived in California and now that I also live in Oregon. I have primarily experienced Mira's Thai massage and structural integration work. When you see Mira, you might expect a light touch due to her small size, but she is extremely skilled at delivering a therapeutic experience with the deep pressure that I prefer. I am a muscular athlete and light Swedish style just does not help me with my tight muscles and overuse injuries.
