Please read if you're a parent considering this school!!…read more Today my newly diagnosed Level 1 autistic son was kicked out of The Goddard School in Roseville, and I'm honestly still trying to process it. I am heartbroken, angry, and deeply disappointed. My son is extremely high functioning. We have worked incredibly hard to support him -- I drive two hours twice a week to get him to occupational therapy, he will be receiving ABA support, and we've put countless hours into helping him thrive. Because of that work, he doesn't even qualify for speech therapy. He is a bright, loving, energetic three-year-old who deserves patience and understanding like any other child. Instead, we were essentially told he could not stay unless we provided a full-time one-on-one aide ourselves -- something that would mean paying tuition while also paying privately for someone to supervise him all day. As a parent, there is nothing more painful than watching your child start forming friendships and getting comfortable somewhere, only to be pushed out because he needs a little extra support. If a school is not equipped or willing to support neurodivergent children, families deserve honesty about that from the beginning. It would save parents and children a tremendous amount of heartbreak. Right now my momma heart is just broken. My son deserves a community that sees his potential and supports him -- not one that shuts the door on him. If you're a parent of a neurodivergent or high energy child, walk the other way. Thank you for reading.

We were part of this school community for nearly 2 years. During that time, our child progressed…read morethrough multiple classrooms : Orange, Yellow, and then the final Montessori level (Green class). He spent approximately 6 months in the Green class, which is a significant amount of time, and was doing well academically while continuing to improve in social behavior. Our experience changed significantly during the final weeks. Within a span of just two days, there were two incidents (one pushing and one hitting), after which the situation escalated rapidly and our child was ultimately removed from the program and labeled a "safety concern." While we fully agree that physical behavior must be addressed seriously, we were concerned by the lack of a structured, fair, and professional approach: 1. No incident reports were ever formally documented or shared with us -- neither for prior nor for these incidents 2. The first incident was only communicated verbally during pickup 3. No clear investigation or context-sharing of what led to the incidents 4. No opportunity given for the child to demonstrate improvement, despite the very short timeframe 5. No behavior support plan or structured intervention was put in place It is important to highlight that prior to this week, our child had no history of hitting or pushing incidents reported to us. There were zero documented behavioral incidents of this nature over nearly two years. In fact, during the final week, we worked closely with our child at home and provided a simple set of classroom rules, which he was actively trying to follow. Given our long-standing relationship with the school, we expected a collaborative effort and some time to allow these improvements to take effect. Additionally, an observation document was shared that included ADHD-related terminology. This was concerning, as such developmental assessments should be conducted by qualified professionals and in collaboration with parents. The document lacked basic professional standards. It did not include the child's full name, date, observer credentials, school identification, or signatures. At 4 years old, children are still developing impulse control and social skills. We believe that immediate expulsion after one or two incidents, without a structured plan or consistent communication, is not a developmentally appropriate approach. After nearly two years in the school, the response to two incidents over two days was immediate exclusion rather than guidance and support. We do appreciate the academic foundation and social skills our child developed during his time here. However, the handling of this situation lacked professionalism, structure, and partnership with parents. We encourage other parents to ask detailed questions about: 1. How incidents are formally documented and communicated 2. Whether children are given time and support to improve behavior 3. What behavior support plans are implemented before escalation 4. Who is qualified to make developmental or behavioral observations We hope the school reflects on its processes and adopts a more consistent, transparent, and supportive approach for young children who are still learning to navigate social interactions. We also hope that future decisions involving children in similar situations will be handled with greater consistency, care, and collaboration, so that families and children are supported in a fair and developmentally appropriate manner. This review is shared as feedback for both the school and for parents who are evaluating early childhood education options.

Key issues were never communicated to us as parents; instead, they were presented as negative remarks about our four-year-old, placing unfair blame rather than offering support. The green class lead teacher acted outside her professional role by presenting herself as a medical authority and assigning our child a diagnosis without any formal evaluation. She does not hold a medical license and is not a medical professional; therefore, she does not have the authority to make such a diagnosis. There were also inappropriate negative comments made by the green class lead teacher about other staff members to parents. Discussing one child's issues with other parents without any formal diagnosis reflects a complete lack of professionalism. Although a complaint was raised with the director, no action was taken. Moreover, the director and teachers were unapproachable and rude, and we were not given the opportunity for a face-to-face meeting. Additionally, the administration lacked transparency and accountability. They completely blocked us from contacting the school, from phone numbers to email IDs. Overall, the experience was highly unprofessional, and I would not recommend this school.

I've purposely held off on writing this review because I feel it is important to get as close to…read morethe full picture, before spreading the word (whether good or bad). Especially when it comes to a service or program that involves children. When I was searching around months ago for an educational toddler daycare I researched about a dozen places and actually reached out to maybe half of them. Something that I was thoroughly surprised about was the poor customer service I received. Whether it was severely delayed responses, terse and rude responses or no response at all ...I experienced it. Wendy Spencer the Director/Owner of Woodcreek Montessori responded quickly and was very cordial. In addition to the customer service being on point, I quickly found out that the price was right. In regards to the other sketchy places: I get that anything involving kids can be pricey but when you couple that with poor customer service I would have been an idiot to send any sort of money their way, let alone my offspring! For example the Montessori school that is no more than a mile away from home, never responded to an inquiry I sent via their website, then when I called it sounded chaotic and it didn't help the lady who barely spoke a word of English (not to mention they were twice as expensive as Woodcreek Montessori). Please, no and thank you. Getting beyond the research phase, Wendy was phenomenal throughout the entire enrollment process as well. Informative and patient is exactly what the doctor ordered for someone going through it all for the first time. It is nice to encounter folks who are cognizant of the typical concerns and fears us newbies face and she showed nothing but understanding and patience for my seemingly endless questions. And it wasn't even like they were hurting for business, my kid was on a waiting list for the days we wanted! You know what I am getting at? Some business will be over the top friendly because they need the numbers to add up at the end of the month, not the case here. We pick up a happy, fed, educated and WORN OUT kid. Talk about a priceless scenario.

I can't recommend this place as a parent. In my experience Wendy puts her own personal schedule…read morefirst vs that of the schools. The other thing I have experienced is that she selectively chooses certain types of children for her class. So if your child does not fit her "profile" expects to be looking elsewhere with little to no notice. This was extremely disappointing. My children are flourishing elsewhere.
