In June of 2024, he suggested I have cataract surgery for both of my eyes. His assistant explained the three different cataract procedures, and she answered all my questions. She helped me to decide which lenses to get. She was super nice and personable. Actually, the whole staff knew how to treat a patient. I never felt rushed. I felt like I was the only patient that day. Dr Ruttig, in my opinion, is a very nice and knowledgeable doctor. I had each eye done on different days so the first eye could heal. After the second surgery, I wasn't happy with how my eye was healing. I explained how I was seeing. I waited 2 weeks to see if everything was going ok, but when I went for my appointment, he told me he and his assistant thought maybe a different lens would work better, so they scheduled another surgery. I also had issues with my bill from the hospital. I totally misunderstood the cost of the lenses and surgery. Hoda listened to my issues and said she would do some research. Hoda got back to me quickly and Dr. Ruttig refunded me a little under $3,000 to cover the costs of the hospital. I was so shocked. The office is amazing and so is Dr. Ruttig. Everyone is so professional, helpful and nice. I would highly recommend Eye M.D. of Niceville to anyone.

Dr Corredor, OR with Terrezza's office compared my photos of my eyes that they had just taken & then compared them to last years. That's when he immediately said "this doesn't look right to me". Dr Corredor, OD immediately referred me to Retina Specialty Institute. Because of the severity of my right eye, they got me in in less than 30 minutes. He took care of me so well. So I then arrived to Retina Specialty Institute statute. I waited less than 10 minutes before they called me back. According to Dr Ahmet Ozkok, MD, It turned out that my right eyes's retina had torn/detached in a horse shoe type pattern. I believe he said it was 80% detached. He immediately did a type of laser procedure. He made sure to add numbing drops first. And when I cried, he would stop and calm me down. I cried because apparently I'm just a baby! He has a wonderful bedside manner. I may be older - but I was still so scared. He gave me very specific instructions and the staff stayed late because of my procedure. Everyone was so very nice & patient with me. Dr Oscar Corredor, OD (Terrezza's Optical) and Dr Ahmet Ozkok MD (Retina Specialty Institute) saved my vision. Because this happened late on a Friday afternoon. Had they not cared about me - I would have ended up in emergency surgery over the weekend. I love both these doctors and I know you will too. After paying $3000 extra for the Johnson & Johnson upgraded lens we requested a refund which he gave us a sob story it would come out of his pocket... no regard for messing up my eyesight. He finally refunded us but when we returned for follow-up scheduled appointment he refused to see us and had nurse tell us we did not have an appointment. Total lack of integrity and honesty. No improvement in eyesight and he still got paid by Medicare and supplemental insurance.

I have been in such pain for 2 days. Every time I open my eye I have tears running down my cheek and their response is put some cream in your eye and wait till tomorrow. It's been 2 days.
