Unfortunately, I am leaving this review because of how Jason reacted to this not being the right fit. Firstly, Jason seemed completely disengaged throughout our sessions. It felt like he was just going through the motions, offering generic advice that could have been found in any self-help book. There was a distinct lack of personalization or effort to understand the unique dynamics of our relationship. However, things really went downhill after my partner and I brought our frustrations to Jason. He was unprofessional saying things like "I just want this to be done" and "take it or leave it" when we asked for a refund. He also led many emails saying "I know I said not to do this, but I'm going to anyway" and was overall more interested in defending himself than making sure we got the counseling we needed. Overall, our experience with Jason was a waste of time and money. He did not provide the guidance or expertise we expected from a professional couples therapist. Instead of helping us work through our issues, he added to our stress financially and personally. I would strongly advise anyone considering their services to look elsewhere for competent and compassionate couples therapy.

So I'm really bad at long stories so I'll try to just give the bullet points…read more So I was a patient here very briefly. So my visits went like this. I unload my problem and get diagnosed. I'm put on meds. These are strong meds givin to me after a 40 minute appointment to meet me for the first time. So I use there pharmacy to fill the script they just gave me. The pharmacist then begins to freak out over the way my prescription is written, the dosage it's written for, and the way it's broken up and supposed to be taken. It was extremely odd and very offputting. It's nerve-racking enough to take these kinds of meds but to have the pharmacist himself acting like he had never encountered these medications or this issue before was just horrifying. So I get home and begin to take the medicine. After 10 days I go into a psychotic episode from the meds. I proceed for the next five days, eight phone calls, 4 voice messages try to get a hold of anyone at this place, not just my doctor but simply anyone to help me and give me guidance of what I should do with these meds. After all the calls and voicemails I finally get a hold of a nurse who barely speaks English and assures me she will ask the doctor for me. Several hours go by And i finally get a phone call that simply says stop taking the meds. No follow up nothing more than that just stop. It took me months to crawl back up to just the depressed horrible self that I was before I ever stepped foot in this office. And last but not least the receptionist at this place looks and acts like he just got out of prison a few days ago. He is completely unprofessional, rude and bad at his job. I made an appointment with him, the appointment was over a month out so I waited and waited and waited. Four days before the appointment I get a phone call from him stating he made the appointment with the wrong doctor and that I would have to wait a month again before I could be seen. If I was hanging by a thread before and barley able to make it threw each day this place definitely cut the thread on me. My only goal coming here was to try and feel a little human again and try and come up with a reason for going on. This place took what little hope I had of ever feeling better and simply threw it in the trash. Thanks wellshire!

On one occasion, I used the call back feature, and never got a call from them. As for billing, I had about 2 months of weekly sessions in the beginning before they ever billed my insurance or my credit card for the co-pays, then they billed them all at once. It was a big charge on my credit card. After that, they billed them more frequently. The app was useful, and it was great to be able to see my therapist virtually when needed. I had one instance when the link for a virtual appointment didn't work for some reason, but my therapist was quick to call me and we just had the session by phone that day, which was fine. All in all, I feel I was helped by my therapist, but experienced some aggravation with the customer service and billing department of SonderMind. My therapist gets 5 stars!

Between the poor communication, delayed responses, and the overpriced, low-value session, I would not recommend SonderMind to anyone.

JT is incredibly kind and well-intentioned, but the therapy felt one-dimensional. Sessions largely focused on validating feelings without providing structure, tools, challenge, or actionable guidance - all of which I repeatedly asked for. Given that this therapy was priced at the higher end of what we've seen, we expected a much deeper level of engagement and clinical depth. I consistently expressed that I did not feel understood, and that concern never felt meaningfully explored. The turning point came when JT continued asking the same questions and implied that I wasn't going deep enough. When I asked him to take a different approach and ask more thoughtful probing questions, he responded by asking me what I thought he should ask instead. That felt backwards. If he is the trained professional, I don't believe it should be my responsibility to determine how we get deeper in session. He also seemed dismissive of modalities like the Gottman Method and Nonviolent Communication, as well as the self-work I was doing independently. Despite repeatedly asking for homework or guidance between sessions, none was provided. We were looking for stronger direction and more skill-based, structured work, which is why we chose to move on. We're very happy with our new therapist, who also practices EFT but brings a broader, more versatile approach rather than relying on a singular method.

I was then charged $225 for an intake assessment. Not only was this not what I was told it would be, I was also met by a therapist that I did not request. To charge me $225 for a mistake on their part is incredibly wrong. More recently, I realized that I was charged another $150 a week later for an unknown reason. I have tried to get in contact with them and requested a phone call many times now. I have been completely ignored and received no call from the owner or upper management that could assist me with this. I will be reporting them to DORA unfortunately. Please beware of this practice trying to steal money from individuals solely trying to seek help. It is a very unethically run business and it is so disheartening to have discovered that this is occurring within a therapist community. I highly recommend seeking help elsewhere. This practice has only caused me more stress in life.
