I have no idea why I was forced to go here as a minor nor do I understand why the rest of my family…read morekeeps going. I have experienced neglect, harassment, and discrimination from Dr. Volz or his wife, Laura. Despite immunology being a specialty and a textbook case, Dr. Volz neglected for over 22 years to diagnose my mother, my sister, or I with an immune deficiency. When my sister was finally diagnosed, he neglected to mention that it was genetic and that the rest of us should get tested. Turns out my mother and I also have the same exact immune deficiency. Dr. Volz would harass me about allergy shots and my asthma symptoms at every visit. I would, at every visit, turn down allergy shots, request that he not ask any more, and told him that if I ever changed my mind I would let him know. Also, I don't, nor have I ever had, asthma. The final straw was when Dr. Volz's wife, Laura discriminated against me. I have progressive hearing loss as a side effect from my immune deficiency (hmm, I wonder if I would not be going deaf had I gotten proper medical care here?), which is in my chart and on their paperwork. Because of this, I need to use alternative telecommunication methods. Laura straight up refused to communicate with me except by oral phone call, which is illegal under the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and the Telecommunications Act of 1996. As a cherry on top, Laura then mailed out paperwork to my parents about privacy and permissions regarding communication with me (HIPPA violation, anyone? I was 22).

I was told he is an allergist but have no way of confirming this because the person answering the phone isn't really sure. its really annoying. Whatever I ask, the answer is: Ummm...OK...uhhh...well.... I'm not sure....maybe......silence......so what do you want.......do you want to make an appointment. Yeah. Like I wanna pay a $40 specialist copay to find out if he's an allergist or not and can perform a specific test. Anyhow, I finally ended up going, the Doc is OK and does an OK job at explaining your condition but the Bfld office and building are kind of run down. All in all would not recommend.
