Dr. Roupas fixed my grandma's hearing aids quickly, with little notice and for a fair price! I highly recommend him and his office.

My 95 year old mother needed a hearing aid so she went with a friend to Decibels. She is blind in…read moreone eye and half blind in the other so we felt that getting professional help was necessary. The cost of the heating aids was $3,000. We were told that there is a 30 day trial period and a $350 charge to replace a lost hearing aid. Unfortunately, my mother lost one hearing aid during the trial period. When I called them about the list hearing aid, they said it would be about double that amount. After I told them that was unreasonable, they said that they would charge her $350. The hearing aids cost $3,000 and that seemed reasonable. I was led to believe that the payment of $350 resolved the lost hearing aid issue -- but it didn't. That was clearly a deceptive business practice. She tried a second set of hearing aids, but they were too small, and they would fall out of her ears. So she returned them. At that point, she was out of options. An over the ear type would not work because she can't lift one arm over her shoulder. When my mother said she'd like her money back, she was told that she'd get only $1,500 back. They gave her one hearing aid, but what good is that? They said my mother signed the purchase agreement and it stipulated that she'd get only half back. They claim that the contract says the $350 pays for a replacement but she's still out $1,500 plus the $350. But ask yourself, would you expect a 95 year old, nearly blind woman to read the fine print in this contract? None of this information was mentioned to me or to my mother. The sad part is that now that my mother got burned by this company she's not interested in looking for another hearing aid. My advice -- STAY AS FAR AWAY AS POSSIBLE FROM THIS COMPANY.
