I was in a dead-end job and overeating in order to show my body how unhappy my mind was…read more With careful counseling and customized instruction Jen helped me through a very dark period of my life. I went to see her I was awash with inarticulate but pervasive sadness. After weekly sessions, I left with meaning, purpose and self-compassion. It takes as many sessions as it takes but Jen is always your advocate, never just your therapist. She worked to help me on my own terms. When I described her to my other friends who were in therapy they were surprised that my therapist talked back and that we held discussions. She is here to help you, not just her wallet or resume.

Suncloud provided me with the life-saving and life-changing care I needed to get back on my feet…read moreagain. I was looking for a treatment center that would allow me to restabilize, after becoming torn apart by anxiety and depression. Suncloud not only provided me with that space but pushed me further to want more than just stability but to flourish. A big part of a successful treatment is the "want" you bring in to make a change. If you keep an open mind and have trust in the program, you will grow to find trust in yourself again and find yourself adopting skills like they are second nature. Suncloud also provides a community-like experience that builds in the support and relationships we may be lacking or have lost due to our circumstances. I am so grateful for the people I met and the friends I made in the program. These people allowed me to practice my skills and readapt to life outside of program support. Suncloud pushed me to look deeper and attack the root of my issues. It is not easy, it is not always comfortable, but it is worth it a million times over. *I want to also note that there is room to grow in the program. There were concerns about the functioning of policies regarding race and equity work, safety regarding other patients, and smaller requests on program functioning and such. I am not in the position, as a white patient, to comment on the success of efforts made to prioritize race and equity work. However, I can say that I was pleased to see that the staff had a positive response to patients' feedback and appeared to work to attend to a majority of these concerns. I feel that this valuing of patient input in the program helps to make it possible for us to take the most we can from treatment.

Yelp should have an option for Zero Stars. This is the worst facility I have ever come across. It…read moreis a fully locked down facility in every way. Access to the rooms are locked during the day. Bathrooms are always locked and require staff to open. There are prison style beds and prison style toilets. Patients are required to eat in the same spot for each meal. There is no access to the outside unless on a patient "walk" accompanied by staff. Everything is closely monitored including conversations with other patients. This is not a facility for individuals with addiction or alcoholism. This is a psychiatric facility for people that have bi-polar, suicidal ideations, etc. Go elsewhere.
