We feel incredibly lucky to have found Center for Developing Minds! Our son is almost 3 and has ADHD. He is bright, energetic, social and wonderful, but traditional preschool environments have not always known what to do with a kid who needs more movement, more support with regulation and more explicit help learning social skills. CDM is the first place where I have really felt like the adults understand him. They see his strengths just as clearly as they see the areas where he needs help. The class is tiny, the teachers are incredibly attentive, and everything they do feels intentional. They are actually teaching skills rather than just expecting little kids to somehow already have them. I also really appreciate how transparent the program is. Parents can observe the classroom, ask questions and understand why the teachers are doing what they are doing. I have learned things just from watching them work with my son that have helped us at home too. It is not a place where kids are expected to all behave or learn exactly the same way. They seem to genuinely understand neurodivergent kids and how regulation, sensory needs, executive functioning and social development all fit together. We have already seen our son learning and growing, but maybe more importantly, he is still completely himself. They are helping him function more successfully in the world without treating his personality as something that needs to be fixed. There have even been a couple moments where I questioned an approach or wanted to understand something better. I actually think that's worth mentioning because their response is part of why I trust them. They listened, explained their thinking and were willing to adjust and work with us. It feels collaborative rather than defensive. Finding the right environment for a neurodivergent little kid is really hard. CDM has been one of the first places where I don't feel like I'm constantly explaining or defending my child. They just...get him. If you have a young child who is or you think might be neurodivergent, do not hesitate to go there. Thank you Dr. Korb, Cassie, Ally and all the wonderful and talented helpers. They saved us already, and we still have a long way to go but we know we're in good hands. Very, very grateful this palce exists. The only "negative" is the price out of pocket, but it is no different than every other top notch specialty doctor these days. It's a sign of the times and the terrible insurance system, not of this specific center. Some insurance may reimburse too My heart goes out to those who can't swing it, but if you can it is worth every penny. If you only have a limited budget, I'd say buy the SCRIPT online course and really implement everything. read more

Let me just say if your child is struggling with behavioral issues, you MUST check out the SCRIPT course, taught by Cassie Korbfort. It's a game changer. You won't regret taking this course, it has helped me immensely! read more

I would recommend to do your own homework on your child and seek IEP from your local public school district before you go here. They basically gave me what I already know and sadly I wind up forking out $4400 for it. It's a mistake. Don't do it and learn for yourself by doing your own research. read more

We've had such a wonderful experience working with Center for Developing Minds! Over the past 6 months, we've seen Dr. Korb and three other CDM professionals for a variety of services...everything from getting an IEE and learning disability diagnosis, as well as an ADHD diagnosis and treatment plan, and working twice weekly with an educational specialist to close academic gaps. Every single staff member we've interacted with has been incredibly attentive, compassionate, and on board with helping our daughter meet her full potential! My daughter loves going to CDM, even though it involves academic work. I think this is because they approach children and their learning differences with such warmth and curiosity, rather than a cold approach which could make a child feel something was "wrong" with them. As a parent, the staff has routinely gone above and beyond to support our family. They are constantly willing to write up additional information, send me resources, answer questions as they arise, and sometimes simply just listen when I need to bounce some ideas around or get their opinion or some help with different things we're going through. Also, it has been refreshing to have all these services under one roof rather than fragmented through various providers...the CDM staff members work collaboratively when needed and can easily discuss your questions among themselves or access past assessments or evaluations already on file, rather than having the parent act as the go-between in shuttling information/documents/updates between service providers. Yes, their services come at a privately-paid cost...although, compared to other evaluators and specialists in the area, the fee doesn't seem higher than usual. I know not every family will be able to afford these services, but we are lucky and grateful to be able to make it work. For us, it has been absolutely worth the investment to have CDM on our family's team. read more

Do not bring your child to this place. They charge $380 to ask parents some basic questions, without even talking to the child, give you some printed paper, write a report with wrong facts about my child, then simply declare my child with ADHD. It's a Joke. Take the child to primary care doctor to refer a real psychiatrist. they charge 50% fee of canceling appointment 1 day before. Who does that read more

We went to the Center for Developing Minds for a private evaluation and found it was thorough and informative. Dr. Korb administered Behavioral and Developmental assessments in our first appointment. While he had a specific appointment block we felt that he answered questions thoroughly, clarified anything confusing, and treated our family with respect and caring while not speaking about our son as a set of symptoms but rather, a boy. Dr. Korb gave us specific instructions and guidance to improve the diagnosed deficits before we left the office so we could begin immediately. We received the full typed evaluation results within 10 days. While discussing the initial diagnosis he gave us options for treatment routes, listened to our concerns, and we have worked as a team to alter treatment plans ever since. Dr. Korb is flexible with scheduling and when there is an urgent issue he's been available for a phone call or a Skype appointment. Dr. Korb has a good staff in the office. He recommended Jana Parker to administer testing for private school entrance and she was thorough, professional, and made my son feel at ease during the process. I would recommend the Center for Developing Minds for a warm, caring, and professional environment. read more

They were not flexible with appointment times or locations nor were they helpful with payment plans. There are several other excellent doctors and centers that all do this type of work. I would highly recommend using another one. read more

They do not accept insurance! You only want to help children & families if the payment is cash?!

Lara Zawacki at Center for Developing Minds is the best. Over the past 8 years, she has conducted psycho-educational evaluations for three of my children. They have all been exceptionally insightful and informative. Her experience as a school psychologist gives her added perspective on the school environment and options to help children be successful learners. For areas where there are weaknesses, she always identifies a range of practical interventions to help address those areas. As a parent watching my smart kids struggle, I tremendously appreciated the compassion and respect she showed each of my children. I have referred other parents to her and they unanimously agree that she does an outstanding job. A highly-esteemed Bay Area psychiatrist, who is not affiliated with the Center for Developing Minds, reviewed the reports for my children and told me they were the best she had ever seen. I recommend her without hesitation. read more

Dr. Korb was recommended to us by our pediatrician and two other parents when we moved to California and wanted to get our son evaluated. It was a little different for us that he did not accept any insurance, but at the same time, his wait time for an appointment was 3-6 months less than at Packard, and his office was closer to our home. So we decided to move forward to access treatment earlier. My son was a patient at the Center for two years. He received his diagnosis and Dr. Korb was great about giving us providers in our area of Morgan Hill/Gilroy that could help with OT services. We also saw Dr. Korb for 30 minutes every quarter so that he could monitor our son and keep his meds on track as he grew. Dr. Korb, like my kiddo, is kind of quirky. I think that's what my son liked about him the most. Dr. Korb was easy to talk to, he listened and he worked directly with my son. Yes, as a parent he valued my input, and I, too, felt listened to. But we've been in a lot of doctor's offices where the child is there -- but is not there. I liked that my child was central to the team that was working to help him get the services he needs. read more

We loved Center for Developing Minds. My son was a patient for over 10 years and would be still if we lived in CA. Dr. Korb is wonderful, knowledgeable and resourceful. I highly recommend this office to anyone searching for answers to why their child is having challenges. read more

We had Janel from Center for Developing Minds do an evaluation for my daughter. She came to my daughter's school and observed her there, and then wrote a very detailed report identifying her developmental issues and suggested treatment. Overall very satisfied with their services. read more

yes it is pricey and no they don't accept insurance. but I have to say that it was well worth every cent! CFDM was a life saver for our family. Often times providing therapy for me as much as treatment for our son. years of frustration understood! I will always be grateful and highly recommend CFDM. read more

We've seen both Dr. Korb, as well as ongoing appointments with Teri Jeter at Sensory Solutions in his office. I appreciate the way Dr. Korb was able to distill our broad range of observations, test data, and concerns and provide a very detailed plan about what we should do and watch for going forward. When we were at our wits end, he provided more wits and expertise to help us navigate unknown territory. read more

My son has been treated by Dr. Korb for 6 years. After visiting numerous providers it was a relief to find Dr. Korb. I truly felt like we have found a partner in helping my son be successful. My son also likes to share his successes and struggles with him during appointments. It is unfortunate that they do not accept insurance but they have always helped with documentation and letters of progress so that I could get reimbursed by my insurance company. Dr. Korb has a wealth of knowledge and is familiar with many resources all over the Bay Area for OT and social skills services. I highly recommend A Center for Developing Minds. Terese K. read more

I went to the Center for Developing Minds to get help with my daughter a few years back and again 2 months ago for my son. We had psycho-educational evaluations done for both kids with Kim Noll. She was great with the kids and made them feel comfortable right away. She listened to both myself and my husband. Really listened. Something we really appreciated. She helped us enormously with both kids, zoning in on their individual needs. I would recommend Kim to anyone who is struggling for answers with their child. read more

Dr.Korb started seeing our son when he was five years old. Dr. Korb came highly recommended by our pediatrician, which made me feel very confident. Our experience with the Center For Developing Minds has been good. Dr. Korb's first assessment on our son was 2 1/2 hours long, very thorough and detailed. This was very helpful since our son was adopted as an infant, and we have very little health information on our son's birth parents. Dr.Korb has also worked closely with our son's therapist, communicating with her to further assist our son, this communication has been beneficial for the therapist as well. Dr.Korb wrote a letter to our sons schoo, on his behalfl which assisted us in getting an IEP for our son, due to his diagnosis. We have now been seeing Dr. Korb for five years, he has treated our son with so much kindness and care. If you have a difficult to diagnose or special health circumstance with your child, I highly recommend Dr. Korb with the Center For Developing Minds! read more

Cassandra Harms has a great rapport with kids and teens.

Its interesting that most of the positive reviews are filtered for no apparent reason. Note medical practices bill for scheduled time. This is typical for practices that accept or do not accept insurance. Our son has been going to this clinic for 8 years and has made remarkable progress. Its takes time for change. read more

Dr. Korb seems to know his stuff but his business practices seem to be more focused on making $ than providing care. $400 an hour cash, with no insurance. is pretty steep. And don't miss an appointment or you get a bill for at least $100. $25 to just sign a prescription refill really gets my blood boiling. I guess they want to make a dollar any way they can. read more

The staff did not evaluate my son sufficiently in the beginning to provide a team approach to help his family develop a program to assist with his learning disabilities. They were not open to exploring all possibilities since my child was an older teenager. They seemed more interested in making money than being a resource. They are not a center for developing minds just money. read more

Our family had an excellent experience at Center for Developing Minds. Psychologist Kim Noll evaluated my daughter and diagnosed her with dyslexia, a condition we suspected she had. Ms. Noll had great rapport with our daughter and was thorough. She wrote an excellent letter on behalf of our daughter to college testing agencies and she attended our 504 meeting at our daughter's high school as our advocate. She spent time educating us about this condition. I highly recommend Center for Developing Minds. read more

Dr. Korb was unable to establish rapport with my child and in fact his aggressive interview style caused her to withdraw. He was not able to give me any answers to my concerns about her development that I did not already know. Visiting this clinic was a very expensive waste of time. Dr. Korb was unresponsive to my concerns -- he fell very short of his advertised services. read more

I love their free child development chats! Just went to another one they held yesterday. Such a great way to talk to the doctors and therapists in a small group setting. Interesting to hear about issues other families are facing too. Hope they continue to offer these. read more

There are many excellent service providers at the Center For Developing Minds and Kim Noll is one of them! She was recommended to me by a reading specialist to conduct a Psycho-Educational Evaluation on my 9 year old son. He was nervous for the exam and Kim was great with him, very kind. The evaluation showed that my son has Dyslexia. My husband and I were completely caught off guard by the diagnosis. When we met with Kim to go over the evaluation, we were overwhelmed and confused about what to do for our struggling child. Kim explained everything to us and suggested that we start off with a certain treatment. We took her advise and everything has worked out really well for our son! Kim even checked in with the business providing his services and sat in on one of his sessions. She is now part of our team and we can call her any time if we have questions, etc. I highly recommend her! read more
