Caitlin did a great job at first trying to think through the cause and when she couldn't figure it out, she didn't just suggest but told me to move on and force my son to go to school and ignore his pain. We decided to pursue some other avenues and needed a 2nd opinion. We went to Dr Bouzarelos who helped me think through some options. Under the notes, I saw Caitlin tell an admin that a 2nd opinion completely undermines the patient-doctor relationship. Once she heard I saw Dr. Bouzarelos, she called me at work to re-enforce her thoughts. I called the office and asked to switch our primary care physician which Caitlin wouldn't allow. She said that if I wanted to switch, I don't believe in their practice and I was not allowed to see anyone in their practice. I was left without a primary doctor overnight in the middle of a medical emergency. Fortunately, Partners in Pediatrics understood my emergency and got me in right away. They encourage 2nd opinions and would love to hear if I have any other ideas. My son's chest pain has been resolved and we continue to partner on his care. I hope the more senior physicians at 5280 learn from this review and coach the newer doctors. A few other things: I know Caitlin only worked a couple of days a week. Since they won't collaborate across physicians, I often had to wait several days to get any answers back. The front office can be pretty difficult. None of this really mattered to me until I was in a true emergency. I suggest finding a great pediatrician because when your child is chronically sick, it can be very difficult to manage.

This place was always a…read moreplace that I knew I would get the proper care and as a child, I was lucky to be in the supervision of Dr. Andy. I grew up over 40 minutes away from this place and it was well worth it for the excellent care I received. Even now as I'm nearly 40, I still remember and appreciate how I was treated.

23 years ago, just before my son was born, my dearly loved OB/GYN (Tibor Engel, MD) recommended Dr…read more Andy Bauer for a pediatrician. Dr. Andy came to the hospital to meet my son, probably out of respect for Dr. Engel. I was a new mother, and my mother lives in NY. I cannot overstate the quality of the care that my children have received from Dr. Andy, his PA Beverly, and Greenwood Pediatrics. My son was quite small, 6 pounds 5.5 ounces. I'm tall, and his father is tall. So we all expected an 8-lb baby. Dr. Andy had me bring my son in for weight checks for a few weeks, until my son started gaining weight at a faster pace. He was in the 95th percentile for height, so the weight had to catch up. When my daughter was born, she was even smaller. I asked Dr. Andy if he wanted me to bring her in for weight checks, and he said, "Nah. You just have small babies." Turns out that baby weight is correlated to the mother's birth weight. I weighed 6 lbs 7 ounces. I would never have had 8-lb babies. There was a terrible incident where my son's diaper was filled with a bright green mess. I PANICKED, and called Greenwood after hours. Dr. Andy called me back, laughing, and asked me if he had had any blue ice cream at Cold Stone. Well, yes, he did. Problem solved :) We are fortunate that that our kids are healthy. Dr. Andy used to joke about how he almost never saw them, except for checkups. I told him that they ate a LOT of vegetables, and weren't allowed soda or junk food except on special occasions. He said, "H'mm." I like the fact that antibiotics are only prescribed when necessary, and never without the child being seen. Dr. Andy is a no-nonsense physician, and doesn't coddle children or their parents. My kids actually like seeing him, and Beverly :) This recent visit was for my daughter, now 19. I was THRILLED to learn that Greenwood will keep seeing patients up until age 26. I hated leaving my NYC pediatrician, Dr. Edward Davies, when I turned 18. I'm very grateful to have a pediatrician that we can trust implicitly. I wasn't sure about the HPV vaccines, but Dr. Andy recommended them, so the kids got them. And once there was a time when I was convinced that my infant son had some sort of very rare syndrome, which I based upon an ear crease. Dr. Andy rolled his eyes and pointed out that we would have seen enlarged organs on the ultrasounds. Well, yeah. I'm impressed that he knew about this rare syndrome right off the bat. And for new, inexperienced parents, the after-hours on call service is amazing. We rarely used it, but when we needed it, Greenwood was there. I will say that projectile vomiting is quite disturbing, but does not require ER visits. My babies are now healthy young adults, and I'm grateful to Dr. Andy, Beverly Garrison, and the rest of the team for their part in getting them here. I never had any problems with the front desk staff, except for one nurse who constantly mispronounced my son's first name, but whatever. He would correct her, and then next time...same mispronunciation. Weird. I like the fact that you never feel hustled at Greenwood. Yes, you might have to wait a bit to see the doctor or PA, but when it's your kid's turn, you will get the same level of care. Son had a motorcycle accident on a weekend, so I took him to Urgent Care and then to Dr. Andy on Monday. Dr. Andy examined him and also spoke about motorcycle safety. I appreciated that. Being a parent can be scary. Having excellent pediatric care is a saving grace.

We were in a time-sensitive situation and only needed a single signature from our pediatrician…read moreconfirming our son has an up-to-date physical so he could participate in a same-day basketball tryout. We emailed the form at 9:30 a.m. and politely asked if it could be returned by 2:00 p.m. Understanding that offices are busy, we felt 5.5 hours for a simple signature was reasonable. After receiving no response, we called multiple times to confirm the email was received. Four calls later, including being placed on hold twice until the calls disconnected, we still had no answer. We ultimately drove the form to the office in person. My wife then waited 45 minutes in the lobby, during which only one patient checked in, and we still did not receive the signature. We understand that medical offices are busy, but responsiveness and basic communication matter -- especially when it involves kids and time-sensitive school or sports requirements. Unfortunately, this experience has led us to look for a new pediatrician for our three children. I would encourage others to consider the importance of communication and responsiveness when choosing a provider.

However, over time the overall experience has changed, and unfortunately not for the better. The practice now feels more focused on growth and volume than on patient experience. Appointments often feel rushed, wait times are much longer than they used to be, and customer service no longer has the personal, family-centered feel it once did. While I understand that continued growth is a sign of success, it also seems the practice has become too busy to maintain the level of attentiveness that initially set it apart. Clearer communication, improved scheduling, and a renewed focus on patient experience would make a meaningful difference. I hope this feedback is received in the spirit intended, as we would love to see the practice return to the caring, patient-first environment it once had. Example would be our appointment for flu "mist", which was communicated at the time of the appointment scheduling. We showed up and the MA seemed rushed and annoyed stating they are out of the mist and have to administer a shot. She was far from patient with us as we decided on this change; quite rude, actually. Additionally, we made a 7:50 am appointment, showed up on time, went to the room, and had to step out twice to ask if the doctor was coming. By 8:30 am there was no doctor, no authentic communication as to why we are waiting so long, and we left without being seen. We've been passed through 4 different doctors in our time here, and are considering a switch. I'd say since 2020 we've felt more like a number to get in and out the door. Not impressed anymore. 3 stars for the service we enjoyed and remember from the past. Zero stars for the past few years.

We've seen several of the doctors especially since my daughter was born premature so we were in there quite a bit. I've liked every doctor we've seen. A vaccine not approved for infants this young. This was after discussing and agreeing to a clear vaccine plan that included giving only 1 shot at a time so as not to overload his tiny body. I was not informed of this error for over a week and even then had to piece it together myself and could not get our doctor to call me back until she was back in the office. (She doesn't work Sat-Monday). When she finally did call us back, her apology seemed completely insincere. It was clear she seemed to think this was not a big deal. We have filed a medical board complaint for Dr. Bangs. Avoid this practice and these horrible nurses and doctors. They do not care about their patients and are unable to follow basic standards of care in the medical industry.
