The team is made up of College and University students from across North America, and the Dawgs play in the Western Major Baseball League. The venue is very family friendly. The cost of the tickets is low - $12.50 for seats, and $5 for the berm. We've done both, and neither have disappointed. There are often activities and events for little league teams as well. You can tell the community really loves this team, and every time we go to a game we feel like we're a part of that community. The Stadium seats 3000, which is a great size for minor league play. It is new (built in 2007) and clean. The stands are never empty, which makes for a great atmosphere. You can also tell that the fans really love baseball. The parking is free as well! I can't say enough good things about the Dawgs! #GoDawgsGo!

Ball Hockey for little munchkins in the early morning all the way to grown ups playing some sort of men's league hockey. Next to the hockey area, they have two full size basketball courts and soccer which they play league games or tournaments I'm guessing. As well as a couple work out areas where I've seen them throwing footballs in some sort of training programs. Overall, the facility is in very good condition even though the building looks old. Read on their site, you can book the facility for whatever you may need. I would recommend looking into this facility if you need to book sporting events or hold league games as it's a pretty nice facility.

We were there for a kids basketball game. 2 basketball courts, a ball hockey rink and a dry land training area. A little off the beaten path, but worth checking out! Do note the parking is a challenge in front. They have a small lot to park that is very busy. They also have an over flow lot so don't get discouraged looking for it.

Saw some speedskaters in training, a hockey game going on and skating lessons for kids....if this gives you any idea of the size of this place. From what I understand, it has the fastest ice in the world, hence making it the ideal place to break records- not that I was going to try... After the skating lesson, there was public skating allowed and I got to skate on the ice of the speedskaters.... not being the greatest figure skater there is, I had to be assisted for a while until I felt comfortable enough to go on my own. I am proud to say - no falls :) I actually had a great time and was able to hold my own. No wonder this was the location for olympic events.... Wish there was a facility like this in Texas....but then again, that is Canada for you....home of hockey....

The Adult Learn to Row course was the reason I was there, and really loved it. While a bit pricey, it offers an experience nearly unattainable in Calgary, and it's a great way to spend a few summer evenings. I suggest taking any opportunity you might have to get in one of the boats here. The instructors are knowledgeable and have an overwhelming passion for rowing.

This is a decent facility way out here in Blackfoot Country. I never really used it much on…read moreprevious visits, but on my last one, the hot water was gone at the house, so I came here to take showers. There is an NHL-sized hockey rink AND a smaller ice rink (they love their hockey up here in Canada!). There's a full-size basketball court (my cuz helps put on an Indian Basketball tournament here every April). I shot a few baskets last time I was here. There's also a decent weight room. Last time I was here, I ran the tread mill, lifted some free weights, and punched a punching bag (well, I didn't do the latter, but thought it would sound cooler). They also generally run a few children's programs out of here throughout the year. I wish more people would use this place. It's so nice to have a facility like this on the Rez.

I attended the Siksika Health Fair, held today at the Sportsplex. I don't know who's responsible…read morefor cleaning and maintenance, but I question how long someone has been neglecting their job. I was so disappointed in the condition of the facility restrooms. Knowing that a significant community event was on the roster, you'd think someone would ensure the place would be in its finest condition. There are several restroom areas for men and women, as this complex is huge. The women's restroom closest to the large arena was a disaster. Several stalls were unusable because either the toilet didn't work or the door was smaller than the frame and you had no privacy. The stall that I did use actually had feces on the wall. Soap was lacking. I looked everywhere because I couldn't believe my eyes. In doing so, I noticed that the ceiling was creatively decorated. I don't know about you, but as I kid I engaged in the prank that involved soaking toilet paper and whipping it at the ceiling to make it stick. That's what was all over the ceiling. Thankfully I found the other restrooms, which were considerably better in comparison, but still not in very good condition. Long strands of toilet paper were hanging in the stalls to cover up gaps. I toured some of the Sportsplex, as I'd not been here before. I truly couldn't believe the size and assume many activities take place here, hence the reason for certain areas to be dilapidated. I was impressed that there is a gym. The venue really was perfect for the Health Fair and the amount of attendees, but if I ever go here again, I sure hope it's cleaned up. Such a community asset should be treated like a treasure.
