Sounds like a death-knell, right? Not exactly. The place still has good workers on the retail store side and the homegrown chicken joint is still the original one for now, and their product is always selling out the door at this still-well-used fuel-n-food location. Add a star and a half if breakfast was no interest for you here, and remove the same if that's all you came here for aside from the fuel. You've been warned.

Having said that - the store had clean but small restrooms, the attached restaurant was packed at lunch time, so I assume it is good, and an ecletic collection of stuff to buy, including a broad selection of Missouri wines and Route 66 souvenirs. Note: Stuckeys has purchased some candy making capacity and is actually making it's own products as opposed to outsourcing the production which it had for several decades.
