Unfortunately, I have to give this company at least one star for the review to post. If I could give negative stars, that would be more appropriate. We had Celtic come out and redo our paver patio a couple years ago after we had our pool put in. We paid Celtic thousands of dollars to do this. Within a couple months, the bricks at the edges of the patio started falling away due to the sand being washed away (poor drainage design by them). The following year we had bricks along one of our retaining walls start to sink and the sand underneath was being washed out from under the retaining wall also. After several attempts to contact Celtic by both email and phone, we finally got a hold of someone. They came out at some point and put fabric under the sinking bricks and I assume put more base down (I don't know for sure because they never called to say they were coming, or that they had been here. I noticed one day that the bricks weren't sunk anymore and there was black fabric sticking out between several bricks. It's still sticking out). Later in the summer, we noticed that the bricks around the pool are sinking horribly and one of the retaining walls is about to collapse, again due to horrible drainage planning and the sand/base being washed out from underneath. After many attempts, AGAIN, to contact Celtic, we finally got a hold of the owner. He came out and told us that we should have built a supportive wall around the pool, under the patio. When we told him this was the first we're hearing of this, that he never mentioned it before, he told us yes, he did, that we refused it to save some money. He said he would redo it for us this spring, but he would have to charge us $400 to do it. First off, when we had them come out initially, the bricks around the pool were not in place. They were all pulled back due to the pool being put in. We had dozens of extra bricks laying around that could have been used to make that support wall due to the retaining wall that was removed to make room for the pool. It would have literally cost us nothing additional to have that support wall built. He never mentioned it (I have the original estimate...states nothing about a support wall around the pool). Now he wants to scam $400 out of us, not to mention he STILL has not addressed the washing out of the sand and collapsing bricks (the support wall would not have stopped it). They have made mistake after mistake on my patio, and when asked to come out and fix it, he wants to charge us to fix the mistakes (that he has already been paid thousands to do, what we thought was correctly). Celtic does shoddy work, and they won't stand behind it. He was supposed to get back to us months ago......we've heard nothing. They don't return phone calls/emails. He took our thousands of dollars, and has left us with a crappy patio. We now have to have a real, reputable company come out and pay more money to have them fix what Celtic won't/can't. I'm furious. Celtic used to be a very good local company that we used several times before. But, since the new guy has bought them out, their work quality has dropped and they could care less. read more
