Took two colleagues to dinner…read more Was my first time and found this to be a beautiful restaurant. There is a retail area along with a tasting area that was pretty busy. The wait was very short and once seated we had an amazing server. I wasn't sure what I wanted to she brought out 2 wine tasters for me to decide. She took excellent care of us and was not over the top. We ordered 1 app, 3 meals and 4 glasses of wine. Our total was $170. This is an upscale dining so have your wallet ready.

Made reservations at 7:15, weren't seat until 7:30. Friday night, it's busy, okay NBD…read more Appetizers: Bruschetta & Calamari 5/10. Calamari taste and texture resembled that of a soggy onion ring with slightly fishy taste, bruschetta was nothing special, could have made it better at home. Great portions on the appetizers though. Ordered the butternut squash gnocchi and it was actually tasteless. It tasted nothing like butternut squash- just unflavored gnocchi with cheese. Partner was satisfied with steak dinner but not impressed. Ran out of water during dinner, server never refilled or checked, also gave everyone else bread and butter besides us. Crème brûlée was so disappointing. It was cold, and more runny pudding texture. Way too much salt. Partner spent close to 200 on this meal, an it tasted like a target dinner. We also got bit by mosquitos w outside dinning. We won't be back! Waiter was decent, but bummed he didn't refill our water, or give us bread. He cracked an awkward jokes and seemed nice.

This was our first visit to Bohemios Tapas Bar, and we picked a good day to stop by. The first…read moreweekend (Fri & Sat) of each month they have Seafood Paella, and that was what we ordered. While Bohemios is tapas, they also offer some full plate dishes such as the Paella and our other dish, Bohemios Churrasco. We definitely liked the food. The Paella had a mild familiar flavor. It could have used more seafood but for the price, I was more than satisfied. The Churrasco steak was cooked perfectly for me and their zesty chimichurri sauce made it excellent. I didn't try the side of Gallo Pinto, I don't really like most beans, but my wife seemed to enjoy it. The fried sweet plantains were delicious. Another thing I did enjoy was their Mediterranean Bruschetta, three pieces stacked high, what a great start to the meal. Bohemios is a smallish place with about 8 tables and maybe a dozen bar seats inside, a few more tables outside. Reservations are recommended. Our server was a fun, outgoing, memorable guy and we loved all our interactions. The pace of the meal was good, about 10 minutes for the Bruschetta, another 10 after we finished for the main course. We picked a bad day for only one reason, the guitar player was out with an injury.

We loved all of them and asked for more bread to clean the plates of their delicious sauces. We enjoyed Barra of Mendocino Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon which complemented all the flavors. The owner is very welcoming and very proud of his fare! And rightly so! We enjoyed learning about his roots which have influenced his cooking. Hope his restaurant thrives!! Thank you, Martin, for a lovely evening!

I wish Yelp would allow a no-star review when a restaurant fails in such a spectacular way. I will…read morebe as concise as possible in order to exactly describe our experience last evening. We were guests in what our hosts described as "their favorite restaurant" and Yelp awards a 4-stars review...my conclusion was: either the restaurant was having a really bad night or reviewers have lost their understanding of what a 4-stars restaurant should be like. Our hosts ordered a bottle of white Bordeaux which the owner poured in our glasses as if she was pouring the lowly Sarasota water, filled our glasses almost to the top practically emptying the bottle. Then it was time to order, the lady host asked for the foie gras appetizer which she had absolutely recommended...Sorry, we are out! Appetizers: we ordered 2 Escargots, and the Homemade Country Pâté. The Escargots in herb butter were tasteless (I had to add some salt) and one of the snails was full of stones and grit. Main course: I asked for the Homemade Country Pâté which was portioned significantly less than what our host had gotten...was it to punish me for ordering 2 appetizers? My husband ordered the lamb chops...4 chops cooked to the point where they were tough, and a potato gratin reminiscent of a brick. Our hosts ordered the Pork Marco Polo and the Smoked Salmon Salad. I cannot comment on their entrees even though a comment was made that the pork was overcooked. The Salmon Salad did not look appetizing. But, the 'pièce de resistance' was when our host ordered Crêpe Suzette and was told that 'we are out of orange jam'...whaaat? You can find orange jam in any grocery store, you should never run out of orange jam. We have dined in many restaurant that we felt were subpar, this one won first price. Needless to say, will never go back.
