First 5stars:Gluten free cauliflower pasta Which is the best…read moreGF pasta noodles we have ever had. Pizza with yummy cups of pepperoni. Lasagna 4stars It had been many years since I had dined here. It is kind of in a corner of my area we just don't get to for some reason. One night we couldn't decide where we wanted to dine and we all said hey let's go to Luigi's. Our first visit was amazing when it came to the fettuccine Alfredo with cauliflower noodles. The Alfredo sauce was absolutely delicious and tasty. The bread basket was amazing with little homemade bread rolls. The spaghetti with meat sauce and meatball was just disappointing and uneventful . More and more we are finding many of the Italian restaurants we go to have spaghetti and meat sauce that is just not what it used to be. It didn't have any garlic flavor, was very heavy tomato based VERY acidic and the meatball was again just OK. Lasagna was delicious. I asked to add Alfredo sauce on top ,one of my favorite things to do when it comes to lasagna. We returned for a birthday dinner probably just four or five weeks later. Basically we all ordered the same items except for the lasagna. I went for the pizza which was very very very good. The Alfredo with gluten-free noodles were not very good this time. There was so much parsley in it. All you could taste was a dry green flavor, it did not have a great Parmesan flavor, and there was no garlic that we could taste. The chicken was OK. The spaghetti with meat sauce and meatballs I can only explain as being subpar. This time it did taste like tomato paste diluted with tomato sauce, and it was actually the same thickness and flavor of the minestrone soup with very Little meat . The meatball again was just OK. We could pour the liquid sauce off of the plate. Noodles appeared to be drained, it just seemed like the sauce was extremely thin with minimal meat and just minimal flavor. Really not sure if we would return. Inside is a little dated, however well maintained and clean. Our first time dining here we had great service. This second visit, again our server was subpar. When they serve pizza, they put a piece on your plate and serve that to you and then bring the whole pizza to the table. The waitress asked if we wanted Romano cheese on on the food and I said sure. She failed to put Romano cheese on the piece of pizza she herself served to me on a plate. I did not say anything ,and it could have been Me but the two people at the table felt the same way I did, our server just didn't seem invested in our dining experience. We did let our server know about our disappointment with the spaghetti and Alfredo dish. A manager never came to speak with us, they never offered to take anything off of the bill considering my son didn't even eat his spaghetti with meat sauce(where was the meat actually there was not much that could be located). And , the waitress could see how much parsley was in the fettuccine Alfredo. She did ask if they could remake our meals, but we are not very comfortable with sending our meals back to be remade. Removing the spaghetti with meat sauce would've truly been an appropriate move. We did not expect that two whole meals would be removed from the bill being my partner was so hungry he went ahead and ate his birthday dinner ,fettuccine Alfredo.

The ambiance is inviting and intimate...the perfect spot for a date night or outing with friends. We skipped their famous pretzel bread and started off with the GF Thai Lettuce wraps as an appetizer which was delicious especially with the 3 different sauces they were served with. The peanut sauce was my favorite....rich, savory, and slightly sweet similar to a satay sauce. I had the Sangria wine flight and loved all the four flavors....tropical, fruity and sweet. For my entree i had the shrimp & scollop risotto and it was just ok. The shrimp and scallops were cooked and seared perfectly but the risotto tasted a little dry. I had the same dish at the Troy location and it was covered in a flavorful sauce and was not dry. I left most of it unfinished and chose not to tell the server about it, but was disappointed. Thank goodness for ordering an appetizer! My friend had the Dana's Parmesan Chicken and said it was exceptionally delicious. Our server gets an A+ for making sure we enjoyed our meal. He was attentive, made great recommendations and checked in with us throughout. However when I go to the Troy location, we are always offered to sample the featured wine of the month before ordering our drinks and wasn't here. I don't even know what the feature wine of March is because it wasn't even mentioned by our server. Overall, a lovely dinning experience but this wasn't the 5+ star rating the Troy location has in comparison.

This is one of those unfortunate instances where I wish I could give a 3.5* rating. Everything was ok, but definitely not great. The place is loud, and way too bright, especially for an intimate experience after 8:30pm or so. We would have loved to stick around for another couple cocktails, if the cocktails and ambience were good, they weren't. The "craft cocktail" ol' fashioned was improperly garnished w/ a whole 1/4 of an orange slice, instead of the peel, it was improperly essenced, and had an improper amount of simple syrup. It was essentially a shot of bourbon with a cherry and an orange peel. Tasted terrible. The drink lacked all of the taste and trappings of the advertised craft "burnt sugar" old fashioned. Additionally, they use a 1/2 of an ice ball, which would not have been offensive, if the rest of the drink was up to par, but as it was, the cocktail seemed cheap and off-putting. 2.0/10 My date ordered a "figgy sweater," a citrusy cocktail with vodka, also off of the "craft cocktails" menu. Her drink had the opposite problem. It tasted like a lemonade with no alcohol at all, or watered down alcohol. She's a fairly lightweight that does not like strong drinks, gets tipsy off of two, and she complained throughout its consumption that the drink seemed weak and not worth ordering another. 2.0/10 We were both interested in another cocktail, but due to the loud nature of the place, the over abundance of light, and the poorly crafted cocktails, we drove to another establishment for our second round. Food ordered: Seafood Chowder - Great job, delicious, ample seafood throughout 9.5/10 Brisket Poutine - Good but it lacked cheese curds and gravy. 7.0/10 Beef tenderloin tips - terrible... the dish came out cold, we ordered the GF option, and the bread substitute was gross. The dish was overly salty, and the beef was way, way over cooked; not even medium well, most of it was well done, and tough; this was $30 wasted, we barely touched it and it's still in the fridge two days later. I'll likely throw it out. 2.0/10 Chicken Fried Lobster - nice dish, I hated the dill, but my date licked it. The dill aside, it was delicious; nice presentation, great tasting waffle, w/ well favored garnishes. However, the dish was barely warm when it came out, the ricotta/cream soaked into the waffle, and it was soggy. If it came out of the kitchen promptly it would have likely been better. 7.0/10 I'd consider ordering the chicken fried waffle again, but bad cocktails will likely keep me away. It's tough to pay $30+ in bad cocktails to accompany a $100+ meal. I'd strongly suggest turning down the lights after 8:30pm or so, and installing some noise canceling/light panels to bring the ceiling height down, quiet the place down some, and make it seem more intimate. The two tables opposite the the kitchen, in the damn hallway to the bathroom, should either be gotten rid of, made into high-tops, or install a lower counter-service along that wall for a "chef's experience." Those tables absolutely suck. We sat at them at our first visit, they tried to sit us there for our 2nd visit, but moved us after our objection. I laughed a bit throughout our meal as the people that were subsequently seated at those tables complained during their meal of the constant bumps, and interruptions that come with the territory. Finally, our waitress did a great job. The food runner was late on a couple of our dishes, resulting in cold food, but the waitress' service seemed great.

We started with Old Fashioneds, which were very good, although it did take a while for our drinks to arrive. Our server was friendly and attentive, but they were clearly very busy, and there was a wait by the time we were leaving. For appetizers, we ordered both the Devil Goons--seafood rangoons made with Sriracha and ghost chili peppers--and the regular rangoons. The Devil Goons were excellent; I had never had spicy rangoons before, and it was a great twist. The regular rangoons, however, were just okay in comparison. I ordered the red curry and thought it was just alright. I asked for medium spice, which was tolerable, but it lacked the rich coconut milk and curry flavors I'm used to from other places. My friends ordered fried rice, and their portions were noticeably larger than mine. For a similar price point, the portion sizes felt inconsistent. That said, they really enjoyed the fried rice. Overall, it's a cool spot to check out and clearly very popular. If I return, I'd skip the red curry. I'd also recommend making a reservation if you're planning ahead.

It was packed inside and when we inquired on the wait time the hostess mentioned people were staying long and they were very behind. Once we finally got seated we got a private booth with curtains. A warm bread basket (very delicious) quickly arrived and our drink orders taken. The drinks here are quality pours and they brought us extra olives and cherries which we thought was a nice touch. We started off with calamari and escargot for our appetizers. Calamari was plentiful and had big meaty pieces. The breading was a little too salty though. I'm used to calamari coming with a side of marinara but this came with cocktail sauce. It was nothing special and probably wouldn't order it again. The escargot, normally a favorite of mine, was to rave about either. The sauce it came in was very bland and my girlfriend ended up adding salt to it to make it taste better. Main courses were a better choice. I had the gnocchi with Palomino sauce and it was excellent. They give quite a big portion so I had enough leftovers for the next day. The birthday girl got the Veal Mamma Assunta my other friend went with the shrimp Casalinga (their house speciality). They both said they liked their choices but it wasn't anything exceptional. I think depending on what you order certain dishes are better than others. We had a good experience and the portions are large but it just seemed there were a few things lacking that could have made it a great experience. I would still recommend Luciano's but I would come here when it wasn't a busy weekend or during lunchtime.
