Overpromise, underdeliver, and scammity scam scam. LONG…read morereview warning. I needed the charge ports replaced on my laptop (a Lenovo Thinkbook which I use for employment). That's what I told them when I brought it in, and when I called before I went. I was initially told, both on the phone and in person, that the laptop repair I asked for would take 2-3 weeks. He said they would clean my keyboard and screen as a matter of routine. After I paid the diagnostic fee (even though I didn't need a diagnostic, I wanted the charge ports replaced, period, but I looked at it as a deposit) he didn't want to give me a paper receipt, but I insisted. Turns out, the *receipt* says 3-4 weeks. Surprise! Then, they had to send it away to a place called "U Rock" (because some lady there "did not do micro-soldering right now" for reasons unspecified), and URock is not available physically or by phone or email to the customers. It's apparently not available by phone to the staff at UBreakIFix, either. I waited nine days, no call no text no email: no estimate. I called. Same guy who gave me the bad timeline says they've got limited notes from "URock" but the new part is on order and to call again "Monday." I called Monday. Still nothing (still same guy): no diagnostic notes, no estimate, no timeline. He said he'd call me the following day at 5pm. No call. I called *them* at 5.40pm; the notes were still very sketchy and could have applied to a part test, could have applied to a repair, and could have applied to the machine as it was when I brought it in. Still no estimate. At this point they've had it 14 days. I ask about the timeline. Was told "well, it does say 3-4 weeks." Okay, but even though that's a week longer than I was originally told, I certainly never imagined it might take them up to a month just to get me an estimate! That was a Tuesday. No contact from them at all during the rest of the week. I called on Friday. Got a different guy, who was able, eventually, to track down the ID number of my ticket, (no explanation about why the ID number they gave me was unusual) and eventually, to follow the shipment back (apparently the tracking number they were given by URock applied to a different carrier than they had said)-- evidently, the "repair" had been done; I NEVER got an estimate or agreed to it, but they wanted $96 more dollars (in cash -- it would have been $98 had I used a card) to give me back my laptop, which they said was ready for pickup that afternoon. Went in at 2pm. Neither the first guy nor the second guy showed up. My laptop was there, they plugged it in for me flat on the desk and it seemed to work but I said at the time I'd have to see how it functioned at home. The young woman who took the remainder of the payment said, when I asked for the part that was replaced, that "URock scraps the old parts." So that was suss right there. We are now 2.5 weeks in, so the original timeline *did* hold, so that's cool I guess. Keyboard and screen were NOT cleaned. I asked the young woman about that and told her who told me that would happen. Her response? "He's not here. He's out on a call. And it's not in the notes." I gather that whatever they say doesn't matter if they're not there when you show up about it. Apparently, it doesn't matter even if they *are* there. Got it home. Plugged it in, put it on my actual lap. Same problem I brought it in for: the primary charge port is fried, and the contact points on the secondary charge port don't hold if you move the machine. People? It's supposed to be *portable.* It's also less than 5 years old. I called. Young woman said "but we tested it while you were here!" smh. And then told me the work was warranted and if I took it to any of their franchises they'd have the notes. Great. :/ I'm looking just EVER so forward to *that* process. As far as I can tell, they charged me $149 without ever giving me an estimate while holding my machine hostage for 2.5 weeks, never once reaching out to me with any updates or diagnostics, and NOT ACTUALLY REPLACING the charge ports I paid them to replace. Do not go here. It was a complete and utter waste of money and time, horrible communication, fraud, and a huge frustration. Awful.

This place is a scam. If you have a Samsung product that needs repair, you are better off sending…read moreit directly back to Samsung. Had half the screen on my new phone highlighted in a green tint, got a warranty ticket from Samsung to take it to UBreakiFix. Took it in and they said it just needs the screen replaced. Said it would be ready next day, that they had the screen in stock. Went to pick up 4 days later, excuse about Samsung needed pic of serial# from inside of phone and they had already replaced the screen and they were waiting on new parts to reinstall screen, would be another few days. Called to see if ready, said same situation, waiting on Samsung to verify repair. Asked to speak with manager, said she would be in tomorrow. Went in next day, oh, she is off today. Requested my phone back so that I could send directly to Samsung. They said give us until next Wednesday and it will be resolved. Called to see if it was ready, they said no, not yet. Asked to speak with manager, as I was coming in to pick up the phone. Yes, she is here at her desk. Got to the store 10 minutes later, oh, she just left. They gave me my phone back, I went to turn it on, he said it wont turn on because of the old screen was put back on. They had the phone for 17 days and never called me to let me know the situation. I had to reach out to them each time. Terrible customer service. Run around on why it is taking them so long to repair. They're supposedly an authorized repair center for Samsung but can't seem to get them to verify repair? Take your business some where else, unless you won't need your device for 3 weeks or more.

UNQUALIFIED TO DIAGNOSE AND PERFORM CELL PHONE REPAIRS, AND UNETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTICES:…read moreI was compelled to spend money for a repair that did not solve the problem, they did not guarantee the work, and the phone was rendered completely useless after their work. They also led me to believe they have the definitive expertise to repair common phone problems by stating they knew how to fix it, ordering parts in advance and charging for the repair in full before the phone has been physically examined. They never told me the repair was at-risk and not guaranteed. They did not notify me BEFORE starting the repair of water damage that would have made repair impossible, so that I could have opted not to perform the repair. Instead they lured me in to have a useless repair performed on a phone that was unrepairable. 1) DIAGNOSIS: I called and asked about repairing my Moto Power G cell phone. During any call, callers could not hear me except when I put them on speaker (an inconvenience, but the phone could still be used). There were no other problems. Someone named Frank diagnosed the problem over the telephone, said they could repair, and decided on a process requiring a specific replacement part. They had not examined my phone, but I thought he knew what he was talking about. They ordered a part, I was charged in full for the part and repair, and was instructed to come in when it arrived, and be prepared to drop off my phone for a couple of hours. 2) FIRST REPAIR ATTEMPT: When the part arrived, I brought the phone in, and left it a couple of hours for them to repair with the replacement part. When I came back, the on-site tech disclosed that when they opened the case they found water damage. She did not at that time say the water damage was the cause of the speaker problem. She had already replaced the part. We tested the repaired phone, but it still had the SAME SPEAKER PROBLEM. At this point she said the part they ordered must be bad, and asked me to wait for another week for them to order a second replacement part. I took the phone home and it was fully functional except for the speaker problem. 3) SECOND REPAIR ATTEMPT: When the second replacement part came in, they called me in and installed the second replacement part. However, the problem was still not repaired, it had the SAME SPEAKER PROBLEM. On testing, there was now a NEW NON-CONNECTIVITY PROBLEM: the phone could not connect to the cellular network. She disassembled, checked the SIM, reassembled, and rebooted the phone, and it now appeared to have cellular access, so I left. However, within 5 minutes, the phone could not connect to the cellular network. I now had both the original problem and a NEW NON-CONNECTIVITY PROBLEM (rendering the phone useless for calls). 5) FINAL RESULT: I came back, and the tech now said the phone was beyond repair. I asked why she ever tried to replace a part on a water damaged phone that a knowledgeable technician would have known was unlikely to fix the problem. She did not have any response except that I had already paid for the repair, and repair fees are nonrefundable. So they diagnosed the phone and planned repair, ordered the part (twice), but when this did not correct the problem, and they THEN notified me the phone was unrepairable. I left without a solution and out my funds. My problem with them is that they diagnosed a specific problem over the telephone, but when they discovered the phone was water damaged BEFORE trying to repair it, did not tell me prior to starting repair, nor that the new part was unlikely to solve the speaker problem. I would have stopped them from performing any repair and would have requested a refund had I known. I feel deceived, though I'm a pretty knowledgeable person.
