The doctor office expected me to find my specialist doctors and do all the grunt work when it is their job to be medical professionals. If your toxic attitude prevents are or harms patients it's a hypo-critic oath violation. All Veteran's should avoid this entire clinic . What can they do better well don't be toxic and lazy and follow your oath to cause no harm to patients!

Words cannot express how well my ER visit went today. Thank you all so much! I was at this location this afternoon for a work related injury. I cannot remember the name of the ER in-take nurse but she was so helpful, kind, empathetic, and knowledgeable. She did a fantastic job of getting me checked in and seen right away. Then I met Dr. Erin MacDonald Owens, she was friendly, caring, and listened to my concerns. She acted accordingly and facilitated my needs with Radiographs, oral medications given in hospital and prescriptions sent to my most convenient pharmacy. I then met the sweetest nurse, I apologize that I forgot her name! She helped me with all paperwork and assisted me in finding the correct information on my paperwork that I arrived with from my place of business. She was the best; so nice, very caring and stayed with me until I fully understood everything going on. She did not leave me until I had all questions answered. Thank you, to an amazing female nurse that comforted an anxious patient. Then I met Paul, he came in and performed radiographs of my Left elbow/forearm. He had the greatest personality, he even allowed me to joke about my veterinary career field. He was so gentle, funny, and put my mind at ease so I could continue with Dr. Owens's orders. After some time I met Brooke, whom fitted me with a sling to help comfort my injured arm. She made me laugh and is clearly very experienced in her field of medicine. I want to say thank you to the amazing team of nurses and Dr. You all greatly contributed to easing my mind and understand today's course of action.

This is typical of many physicians and understandable as they usually like to hear it to diagnose. I get it, it's dismissive but normal. He then told me, 'he's not even congested'. Even though, I had just washed off his nose prior to him coming in and he still had crusted residue on his upper lip. Why would he dismiss him for not seeing snot run out at that exact moment? Did he think I don't know what congestion is? Croup is often worse at night and can be fine during the day, but he informed me it had to be consistent. That is actually not true, so very weird he said that. Maybe he was referring to a more minute part of the croup symptoms? He said he wouldn't give an infant a steroid, which I understand. I didn't ask for one and it's not the only treatment option. But then, he didn't give any advice on how to help my child at home. No mention of anything (e.g. humidifier, nebulizer, Motrin). Nothing was offered beyond 'I won't give an infant a steroid'? I brought my infant in because the day prior and this morning he was drooling excessively, as a baby who doesn't drool and the barking cough was now present after serval days of a cold. He didn't even ask about drooling, which is an indicator for throat pain. All my observations were shut down. Felt like a very worthless office visit with no actual assistance. Seems like a great guy, but not a great communicator, thorough examiner or helpful doctor. Weird and not worth the money.

Our experience was less than stellar…read more 1. They need to "check you in" with cumbersome typing before seeing someone in excruciating pain. As if that cannot be done simultaneously like other hospitals. We needed empathy and urgency. The administrative can and should've been done later in my opinion. 2. The staff appeared nervous and unsure. As if newly experienced. I had to ask them to run a specific test which the nurse's response was "oh. I should've thought to do that." 3. They do not have important equipment onsite. We needed to come in for an ultrasound abruptly, which they do not have the machine onsite. Luckily, they had an existing appointment 1hr after we arrived, where another person needed one too; so they had already planned for the machine expert to travel onsite, but had that not been pre-planned then we likely would've needed to go elsewhere. 4. Wait times. The wait time to be seen (after check in) was quick, but the time to receive the care mentioned above was very long. We arrived around 8:50am. Were in the back getting the basics (IV, bp, answering basic questions) at 9am. We expected the ultrasound representative onsite at 9:45am, but did not receive until ~ 10:15 Overall- It's a nice, clean, friendly place for sure. Best for basic care. But it doesn't not appear to be the best place to go for advanced care when you truly need it.

Both physicians (specifically Dr. Kyle Cash) and nurses lack the due diligence, preparation, knowledge, timeliness, expertise, professionalism, compassion, and care. I will go as far to say even straight up offensive. You can forget about asking for any sort of pain mgmt, they will treat you like a junkie, ignore your requests, give whatever they want/when and how much, despite what you know works based on history and records. They will completely disregard any feedback or offer follow up solutions. It's so embarrassing. There is nothing comforting about this department. When you are the most vulnerable and feel your worst, you shouldn't feel unsafe, unheard, or unsupported in an ED. I used to speak so highly of this facility and have the upmost respect for the medical community given that I gave birth to both of my children in the Lewisville branch, essentially lived at Children's after my son battled cancer for 7 years (survivor.), then I too had a major medical issue at this hospital. All this to say, I've been around for a long time. Medical City McKinney has gone downhill. It's scary. It honestly wouldn't surprise me if they're full of lawsuits. Their escalation process is a joke, it's built to protect THIER pockets, and not their patients. You've been warned, you put yourself or a loved one at risk by coming here. They are bullies, and are very much checked out. If you do find yourself here, make sure you protect yourself and record/document all your interactions because they WILL lie. I wouldn't recommend this ED to ANYONE. I hope they get externally audited one day and get a much needed clean house. Huge. reputational risk.
