As it turned out the first 60 seconds were recorded, then the screen went black. John informed us that the recording company still had the Zoom video and it was still intact at a cloud platform. We called several times but eventually was told the Zoom in fact was not going to be available. We believe that personnel at Shure Funeral Home made the error at the time of the recording of the video. The family is devastated that this sensitive moment in the life of a family has not been preserved.

I preplanned my mother-in-law's funeral with Weller's Funeral Home. She was to be buried in an old…read morefamily plot in a cemetery that had long ago gone bankrupt. Nobody knew where the deed was nor the plot number where she was to be buried, just the fact that she was to be interred next to her husband, who had previously been buried in 2007. Of course my mother-in-law died on a Sunday, when everything was closed, with internment scheduled for Monday 10AM. One call to Weller's Bill Lincoln and everything magically happened: her body was picked up from the Assisted Living Facility, the ritual cleansing, wrapping in a shroud and placing in a simple pine box. We arrived at 9:30A, the casket poised over the freshly dug grave. Bill was a symphony conductor and everything went as smoothly as possible. We even received an electronic copy of the Death Certificate by that afternoon. Each time I spoke with Bill he was kind, patient and helpful: he listed to be able to meet our needs. He never tried to upsell me. I recommend Weller Funeral Home most highly. Frankly every family should preplan funerals. It removes much of the stress, panic and guilt, which occurs if done after death.

Lanes through it are walkable or driveable. There are rows of neat headstones. The grass is well trimmed. But there's one particularly interesting plot: Timothy Clark Smith. Mister Clark designed and rigged his own tomb in an attempt to prevent his nightmare of an undesirable outcome. He installed a set of stairs underneath a large square capstone beside his burial mound, and is said to have been buried with a bell in his hand and a breathing tube. The most noticeable piece is the horizontal window he installed, six feet above and centered on his face. However, he was buried in 1893 and you can only see a few inches into the six-foot-long tomb as the glass has aged and there is quite a lot of moisture. There are no accounts that his burial was anything other than normal. The cemetery is open 24 hours. Mister Clark's grave is noticeable for the mound around it and the square concrete above it. But I love my mom so much, and I heard that the services at that particular funeral home were going downhill. Then I remembered Clancy Palumbo when they took care of my God mother, and it was amazing. So I chose them after talking with Chris for 5 minutes. Even though I didn't live in town anymore. Even though it was about 45 minutes away from me, I knew and felt that this was the right choice for me and my family. I can't say enough about the care, attention to detail, and compassion Chris and his staff showed me and my family. I didn't feel like I was being sold things that I didn't need, the process was transparent and Chris made it go as seamless as possible. There was no detail that went unnoticed. The logistics were handled with great ease. There were so many small details that Chris did that literally made me weep with gratitude. Even though our services were small, Chris made us feel like my mother and our grief mattered. I know in my heart that this man is not doing this work to get rich. He does it because it is his calling. He has my families gratitude and love forever. My prayer is that when I pass, Chris and the team at Clancy-Palumbo will take care of me. Neil went out of his way to meet with us on a holiday weekend so we could begin to make arrangements for my mother's funeral. He explained all options in detail, including costs, and guided us through every decision we had to make: viewing, funeral service, burial, casket, flowers, pall bearers, obituary, and death certificates. He coordinated very well with the church. What stands out most is how beautiful my mother looked in the casket on the day of her funeral: as we had requested, her hair was colored and styled as she would have liked it, her makeup was flattering, her nails were nicely done, her rosary was well-placed in her hands, and even the guardian angel pin we had left in her nursing home room was pinned to her jacket. Parking and traffic control were handled very well on the day of the funeral. Neil guided us every step of the way so that we could focus on my mother, knowing that he had taken care of every detail. My parents graves located in different section is so overgrown that I have a hard time finding it.I don't believe they ever trim the grass around the stone. I stop by when I'm on Forest Road, but hadn't been there in a while. I stopped to visit a week or so ago and knew where the marker was, but couldn't find it, as it had been completely grown over. I messaged the cemetery office through their website, and figured it would be placed on some list and dealt with in the distant future. Imagine my surprise when I got a phone call THE FOLLOWING DAY from the cemetery that it had been resolved. The marker had been located, reset and the grass cut back. I did not expect this prompt attention, and am grateful for it.
