This daycare was highly recommended by friends and we were on the waitlist for quite a few months before we got in but it was worth the wait. It was also super affordable compared to other daycares. The only reason we left was due to distance, wish we could move it closer to our new home.

At face value you walk in and the school is full of character. No boring white walls. I mean there's a model train going around the ceiling by. Play grounds are well kept and there's even a splash pad. While this is not a Montessori school our girls have not only received a great education, the arts and craft creativity projects are endless. I will say this school is based in core Christianity beliefs so if that if that is an issue for you, this may not be your place. I can say nothing our girls have learned or repeated is offensive in anyway. Admin and staff- we have seen some turn over but have never had an issue with new teachers. Health and safety- the school is very good at communicating Health/ safety issues ( black outs, weather impacts , etc). They also routinely perform monthly evacuation and situational awareness. So bottom line no school or daycare will ever measure up to a parents expectations of care for their kids... but while there maybe some bumps here and there I still believe the staff at this school deserve endless margaritas and metals everyday of the week!

As a first time Mom, I did a lot of research on local schools and narrowed it down to 4 schools I wanted to tour. Miss Priscilla, Woodbridge Executive Director, gave me the tour at Woodbridge and there was no question afterwards on where I wanted my son to attend. I point this out because while I toured other schools that appeared to have good programs, I did not meet anyone like Miss Priscilla. She was kind, energetic, and made me feel like my son would be safe. Miss Becky is their Program Director and she is equally amazing. She was always there to help no matter what question I had. I ended up transferring my son to another school last month, so he can learn Spanish. It was not an easy decision to pull him out of Woodbridge. In addition to Miss Priscilla and Miss Becky, there are so many special teachers who made me feel like they really did care about my son. I could not have asked for a better school or experience for my family. I highly recommend Woodbridge!

It definitely is an older place but I prefer that knowing it's been around a while and has good standing with the community. Of course could use some renovations especially in the bathroom areas but budget can only allow for so much! Would send another child here if I had to!

We have been a part of the the Liberty community right out of the gates and loved it. Our children are now 9 and almost 5. We have recommended Liberty to close friends as well. Food selection is balanced and they keep their toys and facilities clean. Also having the camera system is an added bonus and whenever you feel like peeking in to check on your kiddo it's a breeze! Kat and her staff are absolutely wonderful and very attentive! I have never had a hard drop off, all the teachers are cheerful and greet my little one with enthusiasm and excitement. Since starting at this school my daughter has learned so many wonderful lessons such as kindness, how to be helpful and a better listener at home! The teachers also teach from an actual curriculum so I feel confident that my child will be prepared for Kindergarten next fall!! My child also has actual homework to complete over the weekend to reinforce what was taught during the week and so that's an exciting thing for her and I! Upon entering, The school is clean well maintained and doesn't smell like a dumpster full of dirty diapers in July. This is extremely important to me as the last place my daughter was at wasn't very good at keeping a clean environment. The teacher to child ratio is fair and balanced and teachers aren't being overwhelmed and overrun by the children. Overall, this is a very engaging environment for children to develop their young minds and I couldn't be more pleased with this school. If you are new to the area and looking for a great place to put your child where they can learn and grow, please consider this school. If even you are looking for a change and want something better for your child, please consider this school. Call Kat and schedule a tour today! You will not be disappointed and your child will thank you immensely!!!

We moved to Forney, and switched my daughter to By the Barnyard Gate in Forney (owned by the same family). I wish I could say that I love Barnyard as much as I did Whistlestop! So many of the staff and teachers at Barnyard just don't seem to care or want to be there. I NEVER get updates about my child's day at Barnyard, but I got them daily at Whistlestop! Everyone took the time at Whistlestop to get to know me, my family, and my daughter at Whistlestop. Now, at Barnyard...I'm fairly certain no one except my daughter's actual teachers know either of us. In fact, every time someone different has been to pick her up (i.e, my Mom, Dad, mother in law, etc...) no one has bothered to ask them for any information. Thankfully, they are people that were on the list...but what if they weren't?! Needless to say, I wish we could go back to Whistlestop in Rowlett. (We'll be taking my daughter out of Barnyard very soon!) Whistlestop Station in Rowlett is a Phenomenal School!

So my daughter started at Pillars this Monday June 1st. Her 2nd day there which was Tuesday June…read more2nd, I sent my father up there to check on her around lunch time because she had listed off a few reasons for why she didn't have a good first day there. After my father got there and spoke to my daughter, he called me and told me that a little boy had punched my daughter before they went outside to play, and then while they were outside playing the same little boy kept teasing her and chasing her and also kicked her water bottle across the playground. I was surprised to hear this because I hadn't recieved a single call from anyone at Pillars about any of this happening. So I called up there and asked to speak to someone that was aware of what had happened, and after being on hold for 5 mins a lady got on the phone and told me she qould have to call me back and before I could say anything she hung up. About 5 mins later they called back, so again I asked to soeak to someone that was dealing with my daughter being punched, teased, and her water bottle being kicked around the playground and the lady said that she had talked to my daughter's teacher and they all were aware of what took place. So I asked her why I wasn't notified about any of this happening, and her response was " we normally only notify parents of a situation if the child gets hurt"... So I asked her how would she know how bad it hurt my daughter when the little boy punched her. After she realized how stupid she sounded, she then said "oh I misspoke, I meant to say that we normally only notify parents about a situation if the child is bleeding or gets bruised"... I dont know which statement was worse, but they are both bad, and most importantly wrong. I told her that just because my daughter was not bleeding, or whether she had a bruise or not, that none of that matters and they should have called me to inform me in at least a reasonable amount of time. But according to both of her answers, I highly doubt I would've ever gotten a call from them to notify me that a boy had punched my daughter, teased her, chased her, and kicked her water bottle across the playground. At this point I was frustrated, and honestly wasn't going to keep my daughter around "adults" that were this out of touch with reality, and around people that clearly didn't really seem to care. So I told her that my daughter would not be returning ever, and then she started to get an attitude with me and then she hung up on me. So to all of the parents out there considering leaving their child under the care and supervision of The Pillars Christian Learning Center, I would advise you to seek care elsewhere if your child's safety is important to you. This all happened within 2 days of being enrolled there, I can only imagine all of the negative things that would've continued to happen if I left my daughter at that poor excuse of a Christian daycare. I would trust my dog to look after my child before I would ever trust anyone at The Pillars Christian Learning Center.

We had arrived for our sons first day, they did not know who we were or where he was supposed to be. We were walked around for 10 minutes from room to room until she figured it out. The lady continued to say "we have just signed up so many children lately, hard to keep track of everyone" When we did finally meet his "teacher" for the day it was a very cold experience. No comfort for the child and not welcoming what so ever. We had hoped this was an off day and spoke with their director Rebecca the following day. We were told this is not the normal and apologized and informed us it will get better, they continue to praise and announce that they continue adding more children yet the current children are still not properly cared for. Not enough staff in the rooms, when we show up for drop off there are typically kids wrestling, kids in corners crying and all around it looks like one big mess. The teacher is usually with 20+ kids and it is not enough. Immediately after discussing our issues, it seemed to be a touch better for a couple days as there was a new teacher and she was a lot better. But that did not last long and she was transferred and he got another even colder teacher. Everyday we arrive it's a new teacher, chaos, no consistency, no compassion or caring. When you enter the classroom, the teachers barely even look at you. They really do need to dive deep into their hiring practice. Upon visiting before signup, they spoke a big game and the facilities were all clean, we were excited to the fact our child would be learning while there - this was not the case. He was just recently at Bright Horizons in Plano but we wanted to get him closer. We have never had an experience quite like this and honestly hope no other families have to go through the same experience. We have removed him from Children's Lighthouse and got him immediately into a much better facility.
