The historic space is beautiful and provided excellent flow at my daughter's wedding. The food was exquisite. And I simply can't say enough about Rylan, Millie, Hana and the rest of the staff at Latrobe's. Their professionalism, their attention to detail, their care and patience - all are unmatched. We did not hire a wedding planner and now, knowing just how much work is involved in planning a wedding, I think we simply couldn't have done it without their guidance and tips, which they provided even for events beyond the wedding and their scope of work. The whole event ran so smoothly that I was worry-free and thoroughly able to enjoy the wedding myself. And the rave reviews from the guests (as well as from participating vendors!) prove just how exceptional Latrobe's is.

So much so that we did not feel the need to hire a wedding planner. The venue's highly-skilled and experienced team are able to provide helpful insights every step of the way and are always willing to answer questions. Their vendor list is very helpful, everyone they recommended did an incredible job. The building itself is nothing short of magical. Giving our guests a real taste of New Orleans was incredibly important. If our guests did nothing else during their trip, we wanted them to feel like they had an experience unique to the city. Latrobe's definitely helped us achieve that. From the beautiful courtyard complete with burning gas lamps, to the grand banking room, to the wonderful food selection of delicious regional delicacies. Many of our guests told us that they felt they had been transported back in time. That it was the best, most unique wedding they had ever attended - and with the best food! Lastly, the team at Latrobe's is incredible - I actually miss talking to them every week! (LOL) Rylan, Hana, and Millie are the best. I am so grateful for their expertise, patience, and kindness during the entire planning process. A big thank you to Rylan especially for her guidance during our tasting and rehearsal! We would also like to thank the day-of event team, including Marté and David, who made us feel so special on our wedding day. Many of our guests commented on the kindness of the Latrobe's staff who made them feel so welcome. In conclusion, there are simply not enough stars to accurately review Latrobe's! If you have been searching for a venue in New Orleans, congratulations, you've found it! Trust me. We will cherish the memories forever.

The 1930s fountain is stunning and the colonnade is lush right now with wisteria which gives the whole space a dreamy look. At the last moment rain clouds rolled in and the outdoor wedding had to quickly be moved indoors. This was accomplished quickly and efficiently. The bartenders and servers were great! The food was good and plentiful. Definitely a night to remember!

Who doesn't love an outdoor wedding ceremony on a beautiful sunny day?? Popp Fountain in City Park is the perfect place in the park for such a moment. The fountain is picturesque and makes for an awesome backdrop. The Arbor Room adjacent to the fountain is a big open room that can accomodate over 300 people for your wedding reception. I worked a wedding reception here last night and the Arbor Room was decorated beautifully. The bride and groom loved everything about their wedding. While it wasn't a New Orleans-style wedding it was still loads of fun! (Of course in New Orleans we do almost everything different including our wedding receptions). Everyone loved the food and the band was great (popular local band The Bucktown All Stars). The Arbor Room and Popp Fountain have it all to make your special event perfect.....a wonderful setting, delicious food, plenty of outdoor space, and a great staff.

I did a quick google search of the best venues in New Orleans for Weddings. Southern Oaks was one of the venues that popped up. I planned a weekend trip for January to visit, it was the first stop on my list and I immediately fell in love. Shoutout to Maxwell who took care of me during my site visit and Mr. Bobby the owner who also made sure I had everything I needed to make the most informed decision. If you are still trying to decide to go with Southern Oaks or another venue, book Southern Oaks. I promise you won't be disappointed. 2 months later and my guest are still raving about our wedding being so Amazing. We owe it all to the Southern Oaks staff, all we did was show up and let them work their magic. Some highlights from our big day were the old fashion Rolls Royce that we arrived in, the attention provided to us, our wedding party and parents ( our parents are still talking about how well they looked after me during the reception), the DJ was awesome, the food was delicious and endless and our fireworks exit at the end of the night. From the very first visit to our last encounter with staff everything was Top Notch. 10's across the board. Thank You Mr. Bobby I really appreciate all that you did for us. It was money worth spent
