Communication is transparent and frequent, curriculum is structured and followed by the staff, class head counts are monitored and followed, teachers are firm but very caring with the kids, helping when they have a hard time, handwashing is part of their routine multiple times a day, they have cameras if you are a crazy mom like me and want to be able to check in on your child throughout the day, they support and reinforce potty training efforts and food and snacks are provided. We have become familiar with most teachers, aides, and with the administrators and have been happy with all so far. I almost overlooked this school because of bad reviews, I'm glad I didn't!

She is a fantastic teacher, very involved and sweet and my son loves her. I've heard marvelous things of other teachers at the school. My son is excelling remarkably and I couldn't be happier. I rate the teachers and the care and service they provide a 10. The only thing I do not like is the actual location of the school. We drop off and pick up my son in person on a daily basis, because I wouldn't have it any other way. I need to make sure my son is safely INSIDE the school before I Ieave. Be warned that you will receive, almost on a monthly basis, texts alerting you that the school is in lock down because of something near by, such as a shooting. I am not overly worried when my son is in school, but it's normal to be, as the location can't be helped. We are very involved in everything having to do with our sons education, and ultimately that's what makes a school, the effort the child puts into it and how involved the parents are. You will not be informed by the school .The Dean will not call you until days later if at all. They do not take kids on the spectrum seriously. They do not protect your kids. They do not have teachers for all the classes. Substitute teachers are carrying classes for months. Counselors will encourage you not to come in to school to have a meeting with every teacher if your is not doing well. If you are involved parent this school is not for you. If your child is on the spectrum this school is not for you. If you love your child this school is not for you. I would not recommend a Parkway middle school to anyone.
