I really like this school. It is the reason we moved to celebration. The teachers are great, the office is friendly, and the campus in nice.

Those who live in Orlando tend to know a good bit about Disney. Disney University is located behind The Magic Kingdom where the MK Cast Members park every day. Going through Disney University is mandatory for every Cast Member, no matter how big or small the role may be. When hubby (John S.) started working for Disney, he spent his first four days at Disney University and he said he had a blast and they went out of their way to make it a fun experience. Leave it to Disney to pay you for having fun! This is where they teach you all things Disney like saying, "Have a magical day," and pointing with either 2 fingers or your entire hand... never, ever point with just one finger. Pay attention next time you're at Disney, you should never see a Cast Member point with just one finger. They learn all kind of neat things about Walt himself and Disney history too. They even incorporate little games and give out prizes. We have two really cute Disney figurines from hubby answering questions correctly. Like I said, it's "behind the scenes" and something you'll never experience unless you happen to go to work for Disney World, but I wanted to review it because I know there are many people who are interested in what happens behind the magic at Disney. =)

Ever since Publix Aprons Cooking School closed, I've been looking for a cooking school that has fun adult classes. The Kitchen House has just started a monthly "book club" called Plot to Plate where they feature a book that relates to or includes recipes. This month was Lessons in Chemistry so my friends and I decided to attend. We bought our tickets in advance as classes can sell out. The classes are different prices depending on what the class is. The house is in a residential neighborhood in College Park and does not have a dedicated parking lot so I would suggest getting there early as you have to find a spot along the street. When we arrived, we were greeted and given a welcome drink, in this case Cardamom Decaf Coffee because it was cold out. One of the instructors said that normally we would walk the garden at the beginning of class and also eat outdoors but since it was cold, we were going to skip the garden and eat inside. Once everyone arrived (cooking classes can have up to 20 people), we met in the lobby to start talking about different themes of the book. Then it was time to wash up and go to the kitchen. All the ingredients were set out for us and we picked the Veggie Pot Pie table with other attendees. The instructor gave us some knife skills lessons and then we all started cooking, using the recipes at our station. Each station makes one recipe so you don't get to make everything. And, the instructors and volunteers don't show you how to make everything first (like Publix Aprons used to do). But, if you just dig in and start going, it is a lot of fun. We had some questions along the way, like is there a spatula we can use? Or, is this the flour or the cornstarch? The volunteers were great and answered everything in a friendly way. As it said you could do in the welcome email we received before the class, some folks brought their own wine and the Kitchen House provided glasses and would pour for you. I think if we go back, we would definitely bring our own wine. My friends and I made the drop biscuits for the Veggie Pot Pie, which were surprisingly easy to make. We were finished early so we also make the Brownies for dessert that used olive oil and maple syrup instead of butter and sugar. When everyone was done cooking, we gathered in the lobby again while the volunteers cleaned and set up the table for dinner. Then, it was time to eat! Dinner was served buffet style and the Kitchen House split our food for people who had different dietary restrictions. For example, some of the recipes used non-dairy alternatives as some people in the class were lactose intolerant and one person had a mushroom allergy so they got a small spinach gallette instead of the mushroom Gallette for everyone else. As we sat down to eat, we discussed the book more in depth. Everything tasted great and we had a wonderful time. We received all the recipes in an email after the class so we could make the foods at home. I will definitely be looking at other adult classes here.

I went with my classmates for medical school and we made 2 different types of spaghetti- one had meat (very good, picture 1) and the other was vegetarian (wasn't terrible, picture 2). I felt that I not only gained a new essential life skill, but also worked up good confidence in dealing with road. The instructor is very patient, empathetic and pragmatic. He has a wealth of knowledge in teaching people of different walks of life to drive, thanks to the decades of experience as an instructor!! While emphasizing safety first with many practical tips and tricks for the road, he also taught me to feel integrated with the car/flow and relax as I maneuver the car. I was so stiff at the beginning, but with good coaching, now I'm pretty smooth in handling the wheel. He's also personally very attuned to the driving test, which made me feel well-prepared as I conducted the actual road test. The school is also a certified third-party test administrator, btw. Some other positives from my experience 1) Signing up is easy! The scheduler lady is nice to talk to and will make sure everything is in order from lesson scheduling to the testing day arrangement. 2) I was picked up on time and dropped off with ease each session (I'd drive myself home as part of the practice/lesson). 3) I like that they have an online portal for easily booking new classes or simply double checking the planned schedule. 4) ¡Se habla español! So I got to practice a little for fun . But seriously, they are well equipped to serve the diverse community here in central Florida. Thank you again, EZ learning driving school! I'm just really happy that I passed, and I def couldn't have done it without you guys. 10/10 recommend!
