    Chipmunk Achievers Preschool

    Chipmunk Achievers Preschool

There is so much that could be said about this amazing preschool, but the space requirements will…read morecut me off before I'd even get started. So where to start? I appreciate the enthusiasm and love the teachers have for the kids, and for the way they are at the children's level involved with their learning and play. It is an intimate place, where you can get to know the families and the children, and where your child can really bond with the teacher and other peers. Great sense of community. The curriculum is rich and diverse, and we have been impressed and surprised at how much came spilling out of our child at unexpected moments. The teachers are remarkable, so nurturing and their love for educating children is very evident. Echoes of God's truth are sprinkled throughout their day there, and I love that they see it evident outside the home too. There is a definite raising up the children to a higher level of expectation, and the kids rise to it. The musical performance they got out of 3 and 4 year olds was amazing! Exposing the kids to early forms of writing and reading has also greatly boosted our son's confidence in this area. This preschool has always been so accommodating and flexible, and the hours are amazing (9-1 or 9-2), giving the kids and families a good option to balance school life, work life and family life. There is always a quick to respond to correspondence and I love seeing pictures of their day! The location is also great-- it is right on the corner of 200 and quick to get to the highway or around Langley from there. Chipmunk Achievers is a treasure in the North Langley area! This place came personally recommended to us, and we recommend it to you!

The classroom environment is always reflecting and enhancing our program as we provide theme-oriented props to create dramatic play situations. We equally value and nurture social, emotional, academic, intellectual and physical development for children. There are many opportunities for 'public speech' and negotiation to develop language skills that will prepare children for their Kindergarten experience.

I attended the open house and, at first, everything seemed amazing. The presentation by Nadine was…read morepolished and convincing, and it gave the impression of a warm, well-managed Montessori environment with strong values and attentive leadership. Unfortunately, that impression did not match our actual experience after enrollment, and we never saw that same level of involvement or quality again. I would strongly caution any parent considering Peregrine Montessori. My daughter attended from November 2022 to June, and our experience was extremely disappointing. While the initial sales pitch from Nadine sounded impressive-promising a high-quality Montessori environment and strong developmental support-the reality was very different. The biggest issue was the lack of leadership and accountability. Nadine was almost entirely absent throughout the year (I would estimate 90-95% of the time). It became clear that her focus was elsewhere, and the school was not being actively managed. Once you enroll, you rarely, if ever, see her again. The school presents itself as following Montessori principles, but in practice, the classroom did not reflect those standards. The teaching staff did not consistently demonstrate the methods or philosophy that were promised during enrollment. I also found the classroom environment to be more restrictive than expected. Some of the staff seemed to follow a more conservative and restrictive approach with the children, which did not align with the encouraging and expressive environment we were expecting for our child. Additionally, my daughter was questioned multiple times for not speaking Hindi, despite English being our primary language at home. This was both confusing and concerning for us as parents. Another concerning issue was that one of the teachers struggled to correctly pronounce my daughter's name for several months, despite it being a common English name. Even after my daughter expressed discomfort, there was little effort made to correct it until I had to step in and politely request that her name be pronounced properly. I believe this is a basic sign of respect that should not be overlooked. The food is good in quality, but the menu is repetitive-essentially the same meals every week-which quickly becomes monotonous for the children. Financially, this school is expensive, and unfortunately, we also experienced issues with outstanding payments that were never refunded. It felt like the primary focus of the school was on collecting fees rather than delivering quality care and education. I also found it frustrating that there was no clear option to leave a review on Google or other major platforms. As a parent, I believe transparency and open feedback are very important when choosing a school. The lack of visible options for parents to share their experiences is, in itself, concerning. Overall, I regret enrolling my child here. As a parent, I strongly encourage others to do intensive research before enrolling their child here. I wish I had looked deeper beyond the initial presentation.

We hope for many children to have the opportunity to go through this program. It is a beautiful school both aesthetically, and also to the core of their values and what they bring to the kids of our community.

Mainly because I know the Cefa locations are franchises and this one has gotten best of the best for 5 years. Anyways, I cannot believe how much my 2 and a half have grown and learnt in a week and a half. They teachers are very passionate and caring and they also serve very healthy food with big portions. Lol, I was creeping up on them. Definitely check it out if you are looking for care for your children.

Regular updates on our phones and email, communication on events or disruptions. These owners have started sending pictures of each kid doing an activity to their parents every day's. They email the menu for the week to all the parents. Besides the new owners being great, the place was already stellar. The meals are made on-site by a chef. No chef-boy-r-dee garbage from a can like other places. The food is cooked from scratch and made fresh daily. The kids get great meals everyday. They have the chef come by each classroom once a week and the kids make their own foods as well. This is the meal plan for this Monday as an example Morning snack : rise and shine veggie hash, served with milk and fresh fruit Lunch : beef (or tofu) and broccoli stir fry, served over wild rice Afternoon snack : carrot banana flax muffins, served with veggies and dip The location is right on the highway exit so you can drop off and get directly onto to the highway. Early dropoff @ 7am pickup @5pm no extra charge. They occasionally have date nights so parents can drop off their kids and enjoy a night together (i believe they charge 10 dollars for the evening which is very reasonable) The curriculum is amazing, very focused on the kids learning new things and having a wonder to the process. The teachers all take the time to focus on your child. Teachers know your kid even if they aren't in that teachers class. Learning is very hands on. There is an emphasis on physical activity and the playground is well equipped. We were worried initially but our kid, loved it there and has been there since 1 year old till 4 years old. All the kids are very well mannered and you can see that they are taught to be gracious to each other. Great place, the cost is a bit higher but in line with what you get in return. Teachers that are engaged with your child, fresh nutritious meals, extended hours, daily updates on your phone, web cam to peek I'm on your child in the day, amazing facility, playground and a vested interest in your child's well being. Love this place, hope the rest of my kids schools are even half as good.
