Loving the Grenache this year, you gotta go try it. See my previous review for serious depth on one of Fair Play's truly iconic winemakers.

We hit the tasting room late on a Saturday fall afternoon…read more Surprisingly at that time it was nice and quiet. We chose to sit out front on the patio. But the tasting room is open and spacious. We came for the Pinot Noir, but found only one in the tasting. Grenache Blanc, Grenache, Barbera, and Syrah were our other sips. We needed a prepaid reservation. Corn hole and bocce ball areas are also at the tasting room site. Private parking are.

It's unassuming from the front exterior, but we were pleasantly surprised by how sleek it is inside. And that wine cave for members with the enormous antique bar and handcrafted walnut tables? Simply gorgeous. Although everything I have tried on my visits here has been quite good, the real star at E16 is the award-winning pinot noir, which is also nearly impossible to find in this region! If you talk to the owner, Robert, you'll quickly learn that pinot is his passion (I can totally relate) and his partnerships with revered vineyards throughout California are how he's getting such delicious pinot noir to Fairplay. I've now been twice to the tasting room with friends, including most recently during Passport weekend, and each time have had a terrific experience. I bought a couple of bottles of their pinot and am also seriously considering joining their wine club. E16 is like a slice of Napa (without all the pretentiousness) dropped right in the heart of Fairplay and I am all about it. Definitely stop in and try the wines!

As many times has I've been to Charles B Mitchell winery, I cannot believe I have not done a review…read moreas of yet. I learned about this winery about 4 years ago. I very particular about my wines so when one I my friends mentioned this spot and it was new to me hey! Why not? Everytime I come here the staff is always amazing and extremely friendly and helpful. I love the events they have here as well especially when they do the Patriotic events. The grounds are beautiful and you can definitely do a picnic here as my friends and I have done a few times. The wines are delicious. There isn't a bad wine I tried yet. They actually have some of the best wines in my opinion in the area. The tasting room is cute and cozy with plenty of seating and popcorn to much on as well. I I truly enjoy coming here and is one of my favorite wineries hands down.

I met a couple of gals to taste with as my usual friends were unable to come. Something about wine tasting, you always meet friendly people! Generous tasting fee waived for Nevadans and extra % off special off wine. As usual I bought a case to share with my friends! Wonderful chili and wines, what more could you ask for!! Thank you Kayla and Russell for the best Nevada day today!

Perfectly Peaceful…read more My husband and I recently spent several days at GRI. From the first glimpse of this Tuscany-like villa, we knew we were in for an incredible experience. Our suite (one of five) was absolutely stunning. The Innkeeper (the first of three amazing Innkeepers) had the gas fireplace lit, and wonderful instrumental music playing, as she showed us our suite. The food was phenomenal: gourmet breakfasts, 5:00 wine and cheese, and homemade cookies in the evening. My favorite part was the patio with a fire pit overlooking the vineyard. It is difficult to find such peace and serenity anywhere. Aah... We anticipate return visits

From the linens to the décor, super luxurious accommodations set amongst acres of vineyards, each suite with it's own private deck overlooking Tuscany-style views in the heart of Amador wine country. Our host, Linda, made an incredible stay that much more homey. Each morning's breakfast was a feast, seated outside on the covered patio with stunning views. The meals were uber fresh (filling enough that we skipped lunch both days!). Every day around 5 you're treated to wine and cheese. Perfect location to wine taste on property or venture out to the growing number of top rated wineries. Walk amongst the vineyards or take out one the beach cruisers or trikes for a ride around. At night, the fire pits are a nice touch, or just lounge on you private deck for a sunset and a moonset. Looking forward to our return!
