my family has had two daughters go through Cedars Preschool and we're grateful for them. as a parent to know that your child's safety is Top Priority means a lot. from the director, to the kitchen staff, to the front desk support, to the teachers, everyone desires the same thing for each child. read more

I have been a parent here for several years now - I have had two kids in almost every classroom at different times. I cannot speak highly enough about this place or the people here. The staff is loving and kind - they genuinely care about every single child that attends. They know everyone by name and they are always there to help with anything parents may need help with in the complicated process of raising little ones. My son and my daughter have loved this place like a family - and as my son is approaching the end of pre-K at the end of this school year, we genuinely feel like it will be a loss for us as a family not having that same daily connection here. I know that they will for sure return every summer though! It's hard to find a place that is so wonderful - they focus on learning and character building - preparing for the next stage in their lives - but the kids genuinely love going as well. I can't say enough good things about this entire place - I never worry if my kids are happy and are exactly where they should be. This is a special place. read more

I love love LOVE Private Pre-K they do an amazing job with my son! He loves going in and telling me all the amazing stuff he did with his teachers today ! And he always eats his food. Being a picky eater eases my mind knowing he's loving the food they serve. Mrs. Michelle has been such a blessing to our family. She is incredibly patient, kind, and understanding with my daughter. Her calm and nurturing approach makes a huge difference, especially on days when things may be a little challenging. She communicates well and truly takes the time to understand each child individually. We are very grateful for the positive and supportive environment she creates in her classroom. It gives us peace of mind knowing our daughter is in such caring hands. - Hezekiah Davis read more

I really wanted to like Five Forks Academy, but the fact is this place is not for everyone. They have a beautiful playground and when I picked up my child the two young gentleman who appeared to watch the toddlers in the evening after the teachers left were nice, BUT that is it. Our main teacher (Jessica) just seemed very inexperienced working with our toddler. My child is shy, quiet and usually likes to play alone and that is fine. The teacher probably is used to working with the same type of children. For some reason while my son was coming here he started to dread going. He started to say he did not want to go and started to act out, sometimes he would cry, but we just thought he would be okay after a while. The director would call us sometimes or someone else and would say he was having problems, or worse and ask us to pick him up. The focus at this school seemed to be on the negative things and never on the positive things. Unlike our previous daycare in Lawrenceville (Dacula Academy) where the owners who had children themselves would focus on the positive, find solutions on how they and the parents could work together as a team, Five Forks Academy does none of this. One of the administer ladies at the front deck (usually sits on the left) would always give my wife and myself a very dirty look when arriving or picking up our child. Does she even smile? While coming here, I sadly cannot recall one time when arriving or leaving that someone at the front desk ever greeted me (Hello/Goodbye/Have a great day/evening/weekend, etc...). The front desk seriously needs to adjust their communication skills and become friendly. In the hospitality business, people like that would be fired immediately. The good news is we removed our son from Five Forks Academy and switched daycares and honestly he seems to be doing well. Of all the complaining they did at Five Forks Academy about him, he does not seem to be doing any of the same things, nor does he say he does not want to go. I learned a big lesson coming to Five Forks Academy. As a parent, if your child starts acting differently, does not seem to want to attend a certain daycare, switch them immediately. Our children does not talk much, but when we asked him if he likes his school, teacher, etc... and he kept saying no, we should of listened right away. If your child is introverted, this place is not for you. I cannot imagine how this place would be with kids with learning disabilities. I'm glad my child is now in a daycare with friendly administrators and great teachers who focus on the positive things. It's actually nice to see a teacher light up when they talk about a child, it shows they care, just not here. [Review #388] (34th Review of 2016) read more

There are a few things that can make a preschool/daycare feel like a welcoming place. And they're simple: a hello when you walk in, a smile, your child being greeted by name, friendly communication with parents, to name a few. Cedars Preschool at Lilburn lacks that. I take my child there reluctantly only because he has friends and staff who has has known since he was two (prior to this new administration). I used to feel like I was dropping him off at a nurturing place that provided the best care for him outside of our home. It's a shame that that is so far from the truth. I wish that the same efforts put into beautifying the center were put into the soft skills essential for caring for children and collaborating with the families that choose to bring their children here. read more

The building and set-up are very nice and this daycare has great potential, unfortunately, it ends there. There is a high turn over in teachers, they don't all speak English well, and our daughter was learning incorrect words for objects we would then have to correct. In the few months our daughter was there, they lost a quality star rating but the cost was still a premium. They consistently told us things they were going to improve for months, but never did. Just empty promises of things they were going to do instead of things they were actively doing. The building was not secure while we were there per quality rating standards and part of the time their check-out process was to simply initial next to your child's name on a piece of paper and leave with them. No code or anything. We constantly would have no information about what she did for the day including what she ate or what her potties for the day were. Anytime we would ask, the director would get very combative and be difficult to get information from for simply wanting to have a status update of our child for the day. The owner was also rude and vindictive. After simply asking to know what was going on with our child during the day, the owner called me back just to berate me and tell me I could not ask anything, they weren't going to tell me anything, her director was the top priority over the children in their care, and then hung the phone up with no discussion and still no knowledge of what was going on there. We originally did not want to uproot our daughters schedule, but after some of these events, we did not feel our daughter was safe there and were not going to keep paying for an expensive baby sitter as they work their way towards losing another star rating. We immediately set her up in a different school and are so happy we did. We are not happy with how it ended up happening, but ultimately are glad it forced us to move day cares because she is developing so much more now and is actually excited to go there. read more

My child attended approximately 4 weeks to a month at Five Forks. The worst mistake ever. Apparently you have to look a certain way in order to be accepted. I had a hard time with the owner. She was not the most pleasant. My child cried all the time and would wait by the door for either her dad or I to pick her up. My intention was to have my child in a daycare that would really care for the kids. The last straw was when the owner called me at work and asked me not to dress my daughter a certain way so that she could be potty trained. It was always something. I felt that She could have had that conversation with me when I got off of work. I got off work early and withdrew her from the daycare and never turned back. That was the worst experience that I'd had since living in Georgia. It took me a long time to even write a review because I wanted to write how I felt about this situation and not be angry while writing it. The truth is people have their own little way of telling you "we don't want you here". I would have rather the owner tell me she didn't have an open spot available then I waist my time enrolling my child. It took me a while before I enrolled my child into another daycare because I feared it would be like this one. I found a great daycare that had teachers with longevity and an owner that cared in Snellville. I hope things have truly changed since I withdrew my child because parents want to know that their child is ok when being left in the care of someone else. read more

Well I could give a detailed review, but I don't have anything to go on. I emailed them once two months ago for information about enrolling my son into the school, and never got a reply. So I emailed again for more information. They replied this time. I didn't think an email could sound rude. It basically said "an infant is 230/ week, and we don't have any room in after school care" 230 a week is crazy. I paid less than that for a Montessori school in Boston. Maybe some information about the school would have been nice.. Something to justify spending so much on child care. read more

I honestly love this place. My son is in the Big 2's/Little 3's class, and he loves his teachers, Miss Patricia and Miss Kierra. They are very understanding on his rougher mornings and I can tell he's learning a lot! I was nervous to leave him with someone other than myself or my husband, but I feel at ease everyday when I drop him off. :) read more

This school is amazing! It's more than a daycare. Let me start by saying, my daughter was home with a nanny for 16 months and I was terrified to transition her to daycare. I went through 3 other schools before settling on Five Forks Academy. This school is the best in the area! From the first day I found the staff - including the Owner and Director - to be professional, kind, nurturing and like a family to the kids they watch. My daughter had a tough time initially and the staff was patient and kind to her throughout. Now, after a year there she is thriving! The school has excellent lesson plans for all ages - they do lots of outdoor play, arts & crafts, and fundamentals with the children. They have lots of activities to engage and involve parents as well throughout the year. The food is excellent, as they have a chef on staff to make the meals in house daily. They are big on hygiene and the students wash their hands throughout the day; it's one of the cleanest schools I have seen. I'm honestly so grateful I found the perfect second home for my daughter at this school. She loves it there and I feel confident she is being well cared for and enriched! read more

One of a Kind, Truly AMAZING experience! Five Forks Academy, both facility and staff set themselves aside from every other daycare I've heard about or visited. They are definitely without a doubt #1 in our books. Our son, who will be 2 years old in November, has been with Five Forks since 8 weeks old. He has grown in so many aspects of his life. The care and learning experience given to him from infanthood through to toddler surpasses anything we could ever imagine. Growing up,I always wanted to be stay at home mom because I was terrified of the idea of leaving my child with anyone else. The staff at Five Forks has completely put my mind at ease and now I could never imagine my son anywhere else. He has been given so much and we have the peace of mind that day to day he will be in wonderful hands and protected to the max all while learning and growing his knowledge and imagination to the extreme. What's even more, Ann, Teri, Carol and each teacher on the staff interact, play and read with each of the kids on a daily basis. The kids learn to be respectful and courteous to others all while learning to sing their ABCs and count in Spanish! In our opinion, Five Forks should be at the top of everyone's mind when choosing a daycare for their child. We absolutely love Five Forks Academy and God-willing will NEVER go anywhere else. We recommend this school to anyone wanting to provide their child/children with the utmost top notch education and care possible. Nothing comes close. read more

My children have been at Cedars for over a year now and I can't say enough positive things about it! The new leadership team led by Ms. Tamita along with Ms. Emma and Ms. India make me feel like they are personally invested in the well-being of my children, their learning, and growth. They provide calendars each month which include fun events and holidays. They host great events such as International Night and holiday themed parades/lunches. Cedars also has breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as provide diapers/wipes for babies -- this is a huge upgrade from when my children went to Goddard who provided none of that but charged more! I love all of the staff and it's so hard to single some of them out when they've all been great but I definitely want to give Ms. Lauren, Ms. Lupe, Ms. Ava, Ms. Crystal, Ms. Helen, and Ms. Jaida their flowers! Ms. Cheryl, Ms. Monique, Ms. Victoria, Ms. Takira, and Ms. Kenadee are my children's previous teachers but they still make sure to make my children feel super special and taken care of. They deserve all the raises!! Even the kitchen staff Ms. Rashida and Ms. Pam go out of their way to be friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend! read more

-- Words Cannot Express Our Gratitude When we enrolled our twins in Ms. Dom's class, we honestly weren't sure how she would manage having another set of twins in the same room -- two little ones with completely different personalities, different needs, and very different opinions about snack time. What we discovered was something truly special. Ms. Dom doesn't just show up and watch kids -- she pours herself into every single day. From the moment we drop off in the morning until the end of the day, she is fully present, fully engaged, and somehow managing to make every child in that room feel like they are her favorite. That is not a small thing. That is a gift. She has an extraordinary gift with toddlers. Managing a room full of little personalities, big emotions, and endless energy is no small task - yet she does it with patience, warmth, and genuine joy. Ms. Dom, you are truly one of a kind. Our family is so lucky to have you. Thank you for treating our kids like they're your own every single day! - Arthur Family read more

My daughter started a Cedars about 6 months ago and we absolutely love it! She's now in the Jr. Toddler room with Ms. Tasha and Ms. B, and she is thriving. They are both wonderful teachers and keep her engaged in so many fun educational activities throughout the day. Even more importantly, they create such a loving environment. We're constantly blown away because she always comes home and demonstrates something new she's learned. The center holds events regularly and offers lots of opportunities for families to be active. I know she's in good hands with Cedars, and we plan to keep her here until she starts school. Highly recommend! read more

My son has been at Cedars Preschool since November 2023 and the director and entire staff anre amazing! Everyone is engaged and dedicated to the kids and their families. Our family has the closest relationship with Mrs. Crystal in the Senior Toddler B classroom. She is an active instructor and has helped him transition to a school-based environment so quickly. She also helped potty train him within a few short days. This is my son's first time away from home and he loves her and talks about her constantly. I would like to nominate Cheryll Fitts and Jill Humphreys and the amazing team of teachers at Cedars Preschool. My twin boys are always so excited to go to school in the mornings which is a huge indicator that they feel safe and happy at their school. Twin toddler boys are not easy, but Cheryll and Jill have taught them so much since they started at Cedars and it shows when they get home. We love Cedars Preschool! Our children have been coming here since 2023. All of the teachers are amazing, and everything is well-run and very organized. We want to give a special shout-out to Ms. Cheryl in Infant A, who has taken care of both of our kids since they were wee babies! She has given so much love and attention to both of them over the years. And also a shout-out to Mrs. Michelle and Ms. Jill, who our oldest child loves seeing each morning and spending the day with. Thank you all! read more

We love Cedars Preschool! Our daughter loves her teachers and friends! Most, if not all of the staff, knows her name. I love their daily schedule that allows her to explore letters, numbers, shapes, colors, and so much more. Her teachers, Ms. Lauren and Ms. Lupe, are amazing. They enjoy working with their babies. Ms. Lauren has checked on Bella when she is absent which shows how much she cares. We are very pleased with what is happening at Cedars Preschool! read more

We have been so pleased with our experience at FFA! Our child started in the infant room with Ms. Cheryl who genuinely cares about the well-being of our child. All of the staff is friendly and knows our child by name. He happily walks in every morning and comes home worn out from all the learning and playing he does there. Highly recommend! read more

My son went to Kids R Kids for a little over two years -- from the time he was a baby until he was 3 1/2. At first, everything seemed great. His teachers adored him, he loved going, and he had a little group of friends he grew up with as he moved from room to room. But things changed when he moved into his last classroom. Around this time, he was going through a lot -- a new teacher, a much larger class, starting potty training, and having to watch most of his close friends move on to another room right outside his own. It was a lot for a little boy to handle all at once. Instead of being given understanding and support, his struggles were treated like major behavior problems. We started getting constant phone calls about his "bad" behavior -- things like hitting or throwing chairs -- but when I spoke to his teacher, her version sounded much more like typical toddler behavior. Still, the administration's tone made me feel like I was failing as a mom and that my son was somehow broken. The final straw came when, after one especially hard day, they slid a brochure across the counter for an early intervention program for "special needs." I left in tears, feeling completely defeated. Out of desperation, I had a child psychologist observe him -- and she told us there was nothing wrong with our son. She even said it was wrong for the school to suggest such a program without us initiating it. It broke my heart to realize that instead of helping him through a tough transition, the administration had given up on him. We eventually withdrew him, and I'm so glad we did -- he's thriving now. I truly believe many of his teachers cared and did their best, but the administration completely failed us. They lacked the training, empathy, and communication needed to support my child when he needed it most. Our son deserved better. Every child does.

They know every child by name and greet each and every one individually when they arrive in the morning and when they are picked up in the evening. They are consummate professionals and consistently communicate any changes or updates with the parents. They effortlessly maintain full control of their managerial tasks while making time to check in with (and support) the teachers and teacher's assistants. Both Ms. Tammie and Ms. Lindsey go out of their way to ensure the children have fun while learning during their time at the center. They also bring in extra activities the children can engage in to nurture their creativity. I am constantly in awe of their patience as I have never seen them get flustered even with dealing with the rush of morning drop off, afternoon pick up and many children engaged in different activities. I have also witnessed them step in, when a staff member is out, to pick up the slack and make breakfast or snack for the children. They always ensure the children do not have any disruptions to their daily routines. Both Ms. Lindsey and Ms. Tammie have organized seasonal events for the children and parents that they attend outside of work hours and it is another opportunity for us (parents) to engage with them. My review is a testament to the wonderful experience I have had at Rosebud and I know it is because of their dedication to the children. When trying to find a center for my child, it was Ms. Tammie and Ms. Lindsey who solidified my decision to enroll at Rosebud! However, after discovering that staff had slapped my child on the hand and bringing this to their attention, everything changed. Instead of taking accountability, they chose to remove my son from the program. I removed my original review and am posting this updated one because parents deserve to know the truth. It is beyond unacceptable that any form of abuse is tolerated in a daycare setting. And instead of making things right, they also kept my full week's payment without issuing a refund -- which is nothing short of theft. As a Black mother and an educated woman, I will not be silenced, intimidated, or "talked down" to with empty words. If necessary, I will take legal action. Parents need to understand what kind of environment this is, and I cannot in good conscience recommend this daycare to anyone. Thankfully, by the grace of God, I have since found a 24-hour daycare in the area with fair rates, professional staff, and a nurturing atmosphere where both children and parents are treated with genuine respect. Bottom line: Grayson Academy is not the safe, trustworthy place they claim to be. Parents, please be cautious

Primrose School at Sugarloaf Parkway-East

My review is LONG but WORTH the read I promise!…read more I've had the opportunity of my son attending Primrose since he was about 2 1/2 years old and during the peak of the pandemic. Like everyone during those uncertain times, I had to make the decision of transitioning him from our in home nanny to school so he would not fall behind with his social skills. We had come from a "placeholder" school and it was time to find him a school home. From my first interaction and tour with the school, Ms. Yang told me everything about the program. I loved how thorough their policies and procedures were. The school appeared to be large, clean, fresh and new! The staff wore masks and required you to wear them when entering the building as well while I was on my tour so ultimately making the decision came a bit easier. As with most parents - you value the safety of your child. So many horror stories online and on the news about kids being mistreated by trusted staff. So I want to point out something that will be very reassuring - Tanisha and her wonderful administrative team take pride in caring for each child as if they were their own! You will get to know each and every one of them and learn the "culture" of your Primrose school. Even with my picky preferences with classrooms and teachers (LOL) they were always able to accommodate me or meet me in the middle. I did notice some reviews were unfavorable... One of the 1 star reviews was a parent I hadn't seen in a while. As parents, we like to think of our children as angles but most times it's not always the case! In her case, I must say her child was one of those children! And I love that Primrose has a standard and sticks to it! As for the mentioning of them not being equipped to handle Kids with disabilities, I dont think this is a fair judgement. So many children today have them. I'm an advocate for free help offered by the state and insurance and so many parents out of laziness most times refuse to get it! This leaves parents like myself who don't have a child with behavioral problems or disabilities at a disadvantage! Along with the teachers and staff! It takes a village to raise a child and they most certainly do their best within their legal realm of monitoring to make sure all children are treated fairly. So understand with all education - it's a partnership! As long as you are aware of that going into ANY school - your outcome should always be favorable. Now the good stuff! For new parents searching here are some perks: Pre-k is private! They wear uniforms in pre-k! (Loved this look for the kiddos) Breakfast is provided for a small weekly fee Lunch is provided and is included in tuition They offer weekly tuition options! Their curriculum is wonderful! Their sign in/sign out and app are so seamless and user friendly! they have parent/teacher meetings etc! They have an open door policy and the owner is hands on! Now the cons which weren't many; Location - The traffic to get to this location took me about 90 mins a day for 2 round trips and I live less than 5 miles away. And it's pretty tough getting out of the schools parking lot onto the traffic... But my son's safety was the uttermost important so I made the sacrifice as long as I could! Personal values - Sometimes as families our personal, religious and moral values don't always align with companies and that's okay! So we made the tough decision to leave Primrose as we noticed this shift. Again - these are my personal pros and cons and they do not take away from the quality of the school which they most definitely earn their 5 star reviews! Any educator who dedicated their lives to care for children especially our precious little people deserves all kinds of awards! Please take time and try Primrose out for yourselves! They were good to me and my family and I would most likely return under the right circumstances (and relocation LOL)

Beyond the great communication, what really stands out is the environment they've created--warm, welcoming, and genuinely nurturing.
