The Memory Care team treated him with respect and kindness, giving him the most independence possible. Northridge Valleys staff and admin team values collaboration and relationships with families. We worked together to give Dad everything he needed to live his best life. They never saw him as an Alzheimer's patient, but as a human being whose needs changed as he progressed in his journey. It was obvious that the team loves what they do, which showed in how comfortable our dad was at Northridge Valley. The level of care gave us piece of mind, we knew he was receiving what he needed. I knew what to ask about, what to look out for and, most importantly, how the staff operates on a day to day basis. Steve took care of so many things, worked seamlessly to attend to every large and small detail. Flexible, listens and remembers every bit of your concerns. Excellent communication day or night. Just before Covid regulations took hold I was able to see the home. The facilities at Heavenly was better than photos show. Super clean, crisp and well laid out. If you ever see a typical assisted living place, you will plainly notice how well Heavenly is set up. Plenty of space, large rooms, great light and ventilation. The place and personnel is a place for a person to recover and thrive. Do I recommend, absolutely. From the moment she arrived, the care was superb. The large and well-trained staff treated her as if she were a member of their family. From the administrators through the medication specialists through the wound nurses through the nursing assistants, the Northridge team was warm, totally professional and extremely patient. Pain management was excellent, and the nursing assistants were always available to ensure our mother's comfort. The physical therapy and occupational therapy is outstanding, and again, very patient. They tailored their routines to our mother's capabilities and always exhibited the utmost warmth and care. My brother and I were overprotective of our mother, and we could leave at the end of the day knowing she was in a caring and completely safe environment. I cannot recommend the Gardens highly enough.

If I could give this place negative stars, I would. I believe they accepted my father into their…read morecare without fully understanding or reviewing his medical background, including his hallucination episodes. When my father arrived, he was understandably confused and disoriented after being hospitalized for two months. On his very first day, a caregiver appeared visibly upset that he was frequently calling for assistance. I overheard staff discussing taking away his help button, which was extremely concerning. While I understand that his behavior may have been challenging due to his confusion, I expected trained professionals who are equipped to handle situations like this. The next morning, less than 24 hours after his arrival, I received a text around 10:30 a.m. from Vic, the owner, stating that my father did not meet their safety requirements and would need to be transferred. This was followed by another message saying he was contacting other facilities. I was shocked by how quickly this decision was made and that I was not included in any discussion or decision-making regarding my father's care. A few hours later, I was informed that a van would arrive at 3:30 p.m. to transfer him to another facility, though I was not told where. When I followed up around 3:30, I was told my father was still at Care Island and had not been moved as originally stated. About an hour later, I was notified that he would instead be transferred at 8:00 p.m. to a facility much farther away. I was extremely disappointed by the lack of communication, transparency, and coordination--especially after being told my father could no longer stay. This experience added unnecessary stress during an already very difficult time for my family.
