We have had a dog in our family for about twenty years now so we have built up a relationship with Glenn's and we discovered how understanding they are when we had to make that painful last decision regarding our two previous dogs. We also discovered that they work hand in glove with the local animal sanctuary (Assisi) as we got our present dogs from Assisi via Glenn's as a litter of pups had to go to the vets for treatment a few weeks after birth. The staff made sure that the five that recovered were appropriately homed. Two years down the line and with a few less shoes etc due to excessive chewing we have no regrets that we decided to take two of the said pups. One of the pups has a hip problem so our visits to the vets have been regular. It is quite touching to watch the staff take such a personal interest in the dog and the excited interaction of the dog with the staff. So I can say on behalf of our furry family that if you are looking for a vets that will give you and your animal the personal treatment , look no further!

I knew the day would come when I would have to say goodbye to her and I dreaded that day. When Tiffany got ill I brought her to Dr Michael Watts and he immediately made a connection with her and with me. He is not the "white coat" vet I'm used to and I felt he was the most genuine, honest and down to earth vet I ever met. He was soft spoken, kind and caring. For a week I came every day to his clinic and he watched over Tiffany, evaluated her and gave her medication to ease her pain. When a week went by and her condition started to spiral downwards, Dr Watts was honest and softly told me, " it's time to say good bye" - words I knew were coming but did not want to hear. Although I took her home one last time, I realized I could not let her suffer any more and I called Dr Watts. He immediately cleared his schedule and I came to his clinic. He gave me the time to spend with her and when the moment was right he gave her pain relief and she went to sleep in my arms, like she always loved to do and had done for the past 15 years. I know the passing of Tiffany was unavoidable, however I felt lucky that her last moments were in the hands of Dr Watts. I will never forget his kind, professional and gentle ways and the sense he gave me that my dog was in good hands and I couldn't ask for a better ending to the most beautiful and loving dog, Tiffany. We all want the best quality, affordable care for our animals. So I send my dog (a 12 yr old, golden Labrador called Nikki) to Doherty's Vets in Carrickfergus. I have and always will trust them completely. Nikki is always very well looked after, I used to have a moggy cat called Sooty, who during his long life was treated brilliantly too. Unfortunately it was here where Sooty passed away, in my dads arms, very sad :( , but Mr Doherty was brilliant and kind and compassionate. I'll never forget him for that. All the staff are very caring, gentle with the animals and seem very kind, they're patient and from what I've seen they're all very knowledgeable. Mr Doherty offers a range of services including treating small animals and pets, offers morning, afternoon & evening consultations, a 24 hour emergency call out service, vaccination & neutering, and a clean, sterile veterinary surgery with fully equipped facilities.

Last year id spotted a cat in the neighbourhood that looked like a stray and it was shaking and fitting and I picked it up and drove it straight to the vets, it turned out it had been poisoned and wasn't chipped , it was a male cat and didn't need neutered. It pulled through and the vets told me to take it back to where I found it and let it go. I see it sometimes about the place and it looks like its looked after. Relived I didn't end up getting a bill for it , they know me from being in every year though with my mums cat. There's a small shop with pet accessories and foods and my last time there was a cat asleep in one of the pet beds in the shop bit, I thought it was a teddy for a while but it is apparently the resident cat.

We take our little pooch here when she is feeling poorly, and they've looked after her from when…read moreshe was a little pup, making sure she gets her injections and inoculations. What I do like about them is they have several branches, and you can visit any of them, but what I don't like is you never see the same vet twice. I would imagine, like a doctor, if they get to know the patient they have a better understanding of their health? Maybe that's just me. Anyway, I usually go to the Cavehill Road branch and we always get an appointment very quickly. The girl on reception knows all the pets and takes a real interest in them, which is always nice. It's a tiny wee place though, so if you're afraid of any other animals, you could be surrounded by them at close quarters! They have operated on our dog twice and have always taken good care of her. The emergency vet is great too, they ring you straight back and will talk you through any issues on the phone. I would recommend Clare Vet group to look after any pet.

I bring my dog here and although he is a big wimp they really put him at ease - then stick a big needle in him!!! I had him neutered here and they really took good care of him, he was back home in a day and i was able to phone the on call vet for advice later that night. They have special deals for people who are unemployed so they can get animals neutered for free.
