Omg! These two reviews are crazy below mine. This doctor is fantastic. This man saved my husband's life. If he prescribes a brand name drug there is a good reason! As far as side affects, he knows more than you do on drugs regardless of the so call known side affects. Staff is excellent! Just the extreme opposite of this persons experience. We are always well greeted by staff and think it's great when called by first name. My husband's A-Fib is totally under control with Xarelto. Yes very expensive but we make do. As far as generic drugs, as I worked for American Hoechst Corporation maker of Lasix, I learned there can be differences in the generics compared to brand name. Hence the price and the fact the health insurance companies do not want to pay for the brand name especially Medicare as the government is taking more and more away from it. Let me start by saying , the clinic was very unprofessional and not patient friendly as you had to sit back out in the waiting room with numerous other patients ( that had just walked in) while you had an IV hanging out of your arm . However the nurse that was taking care of me was great while I was completing the stress test . The PA Guptha was a disgrace to the profession as she was on the phone the entire time ( while the test was being administered ) seeking homeowners ins quotes and not once did she ask how I was doing as she was concerned about her quote for her dwelling ( I believe it was in the $450.000 dollar range ) . Guptha asked the ins agent if she could put them on hold as she was advised by the nurse that I was having issues with the test and the treadmill needed to be stopped . read more

Unprofessional and as I found found out, unreliable as well. After initial confusion about checking in, when I was called to begin the process of stress test, I was treated like a number. No introductions, explanation of procedure nor the time it would take to complete each step. To further complicate matters, the smell of food in that place was obscene. Imagine going for a stress test where the treadmill was broken, which apparently occurs frequently since I heard complains from other patients. To conclude, if you have a choice where to go for the various cardio tests, avoid this one in South Plainfield. read more

Dr. Rakla prescribed expensive medications instead of generics until I insisted otherwise, denied the existence of side-effects which were plainly listed in the medication insert, and addressed me by my first name when I directed him not to.
