I stayed 9 months in 2015 and 13 months in 2020 at Cedar Terrace Appartments. Pros: (1) near 405, 520, 90 freeways. Saves you time daily getting on and off the freeways. (2) friendly staff, quick to respond maintenance crew (3) reasonably priced Cons: (1) depending on your neighbors: the walls can be (1) Great Transferring no sound! OR (2) horrible and too thin. If your unit does not have an AC, put a portable 12000 BTU AC in front of your fireplace and put the hot air exhaust hose in the chimney. (2) before signing the lease for a top floor, keep in mind every time you do groceries, you have to schlep it two flight of stairs up. But being on top floor could be great for some who don't mind the daily exercise. If like myself you love athletes and athleticism, but only in other people because you, too, hate to perspire, either get a lower unit or get one that the top floor is at carport level. Those units that the top floor is at carport level, however, are never available. It is always a great exercise, to scope out your next rental apartment in advance and put yourself on a waiting list for those more desirable units. read more

I moved here a year ago, it down right awful. I told them to fix my coax cables in my house multiple times didn't provide that. The house wasn't all that clean when I moved in. They legit have no parking for you due to giving other people like 3 of them. I have gotten my car towed about 2 times here in a short span. All due to me not wanting to park down a hill after I had knee surgery. They expect me to walk all the way up. I don't like maintenance people coming in my crib while I'm sleep all right scared me last time. Do not move here at all, Plus I tried moving my car to the hill some man hits my car and now I have to get it repaired. This is a place of bad luck read more

Awful experience with the leasing office. We are residents that need renewal clarification. For the last month, we have tried all possible ways of contacting them (specified email, app, phone messages, and even going via new sales team to be heard) but alas.. they are terrible. After nearly a dozen follow up, we are at our wits end.. it seems convenient and scammy that they don't respond close to lease end and then just raise prices.. very sketch. I have three time sensitive issues that I need addressed. Nobody is responding to my emails, calls, or messages through rent cafe but Sarah responded to a negative review yesterday. 1.There are two discrepancies that I need corrected in my lease. 2. My water bill increased 40 plus percent because Conservice added two more people on my bill and they're trying to contact you so they can correct this. 3. All the overages need to be paid back for 9 months of electricity and 5 months of water I've been overcharged. I sent the emails regarding the 3 issues in separate emails. We got William back!! He's friendly, knowledgeable and very well organized. He should have gotten the job in the first place.. The maintenance team is amazing too! They always respond within the same day of a repair request. Usually they have everything repaired or replaced within another day. It depends on supplies and all, but they get the ball rolling immediately. This week, my master shower was leaking from the ceiling. The maintenance team has done a great job of repairing it and respecting my OCD, as well as keeping me updated. It's a 3 step process. read more

Super unprofessional, Basically, when I moved in, they didn't tell me which mailbox was mine, so emailed them about it and they didn't respond as usual, so I had to hound them with like 30 emails before they addressed it. Now they're charging me non-compliance for renter's insurance, which is fraudulent, because I have renter's insurance. The walls are super thin so you always hear your neighbors, rent price is stupid expensive, there's pretty much zero communication from the leasing office and the so called "managers". My dryer wasn't turning on once and it took them almost a month to fix it! It's dirty everywhere, the stairs are always dusty, pretty much no maintenance or cleanliness. I recently moved to Bellevue from Austin, TX. Cedar Terrace has been really good to me. I wasn't able to come visit and see the place before signing the lease, and the managers, Jay and Angelica, made every effort to answer all of my questions to put me at ease and help facilitate the move. They even took my friend on a tour of the apartment so she could take pictures and send them to me. I also requested a covered parking space close to my unit, and received one right in front of it - wonderful. Since moving in, I've had a couple of maintenance requests, and the maintenance crew has always responded within the same day, and issues are resolved within 24 hours. They also do a great job of keeping the place up, as it's an older building. The apartment itself is slightly larger than most 1BR in this price range (almost 900 sq foot), it's comfortable and clean, and I have a really nice covered porch with skylight windows. It came with a washer and dryer, which is also enclosed in a closet on the covered balcony, and there's a small heater built-in to keep the pipes from freezing. My neighbors are friendly as well, and it's nice and quiet here. The apartment is less than two miles from my work in downtown Bellevue, but is built near a park in a wooded area, which makes it feel more suburban. And, suburban Bellevue is also right around the corner; minutes away from a large Safeway, and all sorts of restaurants and stores. It's a great location for getting the best of both worlds. Anytime I have a question or need anything, I can send Jay or Angelica an email and receive a response the same day. They always work hard to make sure their tenants are happy here. I've toured this place and it looks pretty good and spacious. However, if you don't have a car, this isn't the place for you. It takes about 20 min to walk to the bus stop... However, if you DO have a car, then it's the place for you. It's like next to the high way entrance, extremely convenient. It's also surrounded by many trees and it has this forest kind of feeling.. which is quite cool. Also, there's only one person at the office.. In that case if you need maint service when someone is touring the place, you are shit out of luck. This is exactly the same as Belcarra at downtown Bellevue.. Why? You are in apartment surrounded by nature, with the Kirkland Corridor trail behind the complex! Angie and the management staff have been super nice every time! All the regular maintenance work has been done professionally and respectfully. You have everything close by: QFC, Safeway, Bellevue Crossroads, Bellevue downtown is 10 mins away. THE GOOD: The location is great. Just a short walk (1/4 mile, so less than 15 minutes) away from the South Kirkland Park & Ride, so you can get to/from Seattle (or wherever) very easily without having to drive anywhere. The maintenance guy (Andy) is awesome. He gets to your apartment very quickly to fix the problem, and is a very nice guy! The units themselves have decent layouts. The surrounding area is lush with greenery, so you don't feel like you're in a metropolitan city. The neighborhood is pretty safe, and there's never been any issues with safety. THE BAD: The local staff is very limited in what it can do. Corporate should give them more control (especially Angie). Some of the units have some structural issues (not dangerous, just noisy), but the staff is willing to help you with relocating if it comes up. Though you will have to bring it up several times. Though all units have issues of you being able to hear everything your neighbors do (and sometimes your unit will shake from their actions too). The rate of your apartment is set by the corporation, and they want to charge as much as possible. The office staff is (once again) very limited in what they are able to do to help you with this. I've had to contact the office at least once/month (usually more) about smoking neighbors, but that's pretty normal for apartments. Parking is pretty rough. There's plenty of spaces, but they mostly require you to pay to use them ($30/month). This leads to some pretty cutthroat methods by tenants who need a place for their car. read more

We have been residents at Cedar Terrace for the past 3 years and we love the complex and the staff. The place is very quiet and has beautiful surroundings with quick access to the Kirkland Cross Corridor trail for walking and biking...it starts literary behind the Appartment complex and takes you all the way into Kirkland past the Google campus. We never had any issues with bad neighbors or property being damaged or otherwise. The complex is safe and somewhat hidden from the nonsense of Seattle. Angie and her team have always taken care of us to the fullest and we never had any issues. Having previously lived in Everett, WA and having first hand experienced "slum-lords" we know exactly what a huge difference it makes to have a great landlord team like Angie's. If you are looking for a safe and beautiful place with a fantastic support team this is the place for you and your family! read more

I currently live in a 1 bedroom apartment with my boyfriend and dog. We've been here for about 4 months now. The layout is amazing and it feels a lot bigger than a one bedroom... almost like a 2br or a small house or something. The price is really affordable for something in this area (located right by the 405 and 520... a 10 minute commute to my job in Redmond). The area is quiet and the neighbors all seem respectful and friendly whenever I've run into them. The staff is also friendly and professional. They were very honest and upfront about any fees that may be associated with the lease when we moved in, which is something I really appreciate. They didn't really talk up their apartments and amenities when we did the tour (kind of let us look around and answered any questions we had), but frankly, this place was way nicer than the other places we looked at in the area. They're always quick to respond to any inquiries you have, and the maintenance team is also very quick to respond to any problems we had (they've come by to fix things on the same day we called them). Since I moved from out of state, I based my apartment search on online reviews, and I almost skipped over this one because it only had 1 review. But it's awesome and I recommend it. read more

Location Accessibility (2/5 stars): - the location is not pedestrian / bike friendly. It is located on top of a steep hill, with the official entrance facing the highway. The closest grocery is 10 minutes away downhill, and 30 minutes return trip, uphill. - the entrance of the complex is facing the highway. This makes it hard to find (when ordering pizzas, inviting friends over, etc) - close to the highway: you hear the "highway hum". Complex (3.5/5, because of parking spots and shared utilities): - the apartment complex is very nice. It has a mountain camp feeling, with apartment buildings scattered through a forest, at different slopes. It even has a couple of trails around and within the complex, making it great for walking dogs, or off-road jogging. - it has a swimming pool, fitness area, sauna, hot baths, and a picnic / BBQ area. - parking spots are tight. There is a combination of reserved and guest parking spots, but at night the whole place is packed full. - water and garbage are shared utilities. This means people tend to overuse water, leading to higher bills. Our 1bdr apartment (4/5): - The apartment has a ton of storage space (balcony storage, living room, storage, pantry, 2 walk in closets for the bedroom) - big area (880 sqft) - washer and dryer are out in the balcony. Curious if the pipes will freeze in the winter - walls are a bit thin, I can sometimes hear my neighbour snore - no microwave :( Management (3/5): - maintenance is sometimes understaffed, thus taking a long time to respond to issues - it costs 30$ a month to reserve a parking spots - small pets costs 20$ a month each. - apartment had issues when we moved in (clogged sink, broken screen door). I lived here for a year and a half and moved out back in January 2014, and I must say, I miss Cedar Terrace! The location was perfect for us. It wasn't right in the hustle and bustle of Bellevue, and our apartment was actually in the building closest to the freeway, but we could never hear it with the windows and doors closed! We were in a 1 bedroom and the space was wonderful. We had a top floor that had vaulted ceilings which was awesome!!! We were in a classic floor plan which means it wasn't renovated, but everything was clean and in great shape in our unit. The maintenance staff here was excellent! Only two guys for the whole property but they got stuff done! They are very friendly too! The office staff was wonderful and I miss them too! :) All of this combined with the great price for us was wonderful. If I ever move back to Washington, I will be back at Cedar Terrace! :) read more

Greetings again, as I broke the lease in the middle and of course payed an exit fine. Of course you management never even contacted me because you know you can't do anything. These buildings are falling apart and you guys are trying to suck the life out of them before they are declared as a hazard by the authorities. Of course this wasn't enough for you as you sent me a bill for 140$ for cleaning ?!? I left the cave cleaner than I got it. Not to mention the toilet I fixed by myself, the crooked sliding door I've straitened and the garbage disposer clean up I did because the maintenance guy didn't want to touch it . I think the worst part in your organization is the human resources, all of the problems could have been worked out if someone in the office was communicative. I've lived here for two years and just renewed for a third. At the time it was a little pricey, but cheaper than most places in the north Bellevue area. Office staff is amazing. They are attentive, nice and really do a lot to make the residents happy. The amenities are really convenient and very well kept. Maintenance is phenomenal. I've never had to wait more than a few days to get something changed or replaced. Sometimes I will see them walking around and if I ask them to come look at something they will drop what they're doing and come take a look. I have a lethal wasp allergy and they actually listened when I told them. They sprayed for bugs in and outside my apartment. The insides vary. We have carpet (low quality) but they steam cleaned it recently no charge. Parking is a hassle here and this might be my only issue. Currently (Oct 2017) there are quite a few families that live in my surrounding buildings with children. They like to ride their bikes and play in the parking area in the center of the buildings really loudly Overall we have been really satisfied. We live in a 2BR 2B and it's plenty of space. read more

Totally incompetent managers (the support staff isn't bad, just the people actually in charge) horrible communication, decision making/processes/procedures. Nothing makes sense and no one cares. Even the higher ups. OH and did I mention the MOLD? Half of my building illegally broke their lease because of black, toxic mold. I moved into Cedar Terrace in October of 2013 and waited until I was moving out to review them, as it seems most of my bad apartment experiences came when I was moving out... I loved my year at Cedar Terrace. If you're looking for a super nice, expensive, fancy apartment, this is not the place for you. This complex is older and it's not super glamorous, but - trying to find a cheaper, clean apartment close to downtown Bellevue is difficult. This place was PERFECT for me. It was very reasonably priced for the area, I had a top floor 1 bedroom unit with vaulted ceilings and the apartment was huge. When I toured, they were very honest and upfront with all my questions. The apartment was extremely clean when I moved in, so even though it wasn't brand new, it still felt newer and comfortable. I thought at first it would be a pain to have the washer dryer out on the deck, but it actually was really convenient in that the noise was kept to a minimum while I was in the apartment - and since the porches are covered, I never got wet while doing laundry! Location is great, you can walk to downtown if you don't mind a 20-30 minute walk, but the freeways are conveniently close. For being so close to the freeway, I never noticed the road noise either. I didn't pay for a parking spot and always could find parking. Maintenance requests were always completed in a timely manner (it only ever took one day for all my 7 requests, even though when I toured they mentioned it might take two days if it wasn't an emergency). Neighbors were always friendly and the staff was more than accommodating. Everything here was so easy - they were straightforward and friendly in the office. I've had some bad experiences after I've given notice to vacate and this was a totally difference experience. I did have an issue with automatic online payments getting cancelled after I turned in my notice not to renew and they were VERY helpful in the office - even refunded my day late fee because they understood the circumstance, so even though it was initially frustrating, the wonderful people in the office made it all better. Also - Mila is FANTASTIC. From the day I signed my lease, she remembered my name and what apartment I was in. Whenever I came in for a package or question, she always remembered me and was very friendly. She is great. read more

When Angelica was the manager everything was perfect but now with the new management there have been many issues. One of them is the use of the handicapped parking by vehicles that doesn't display disabled plates or placard. The current management had several cars towed that were parked in the fire lane but had an issue when a pregnant woman was parked there just for a few minutes. She also told us that a car did not need the handicap card to park in the handicapped space, which is against Washington state law. So we believe that she is just letting people she know park there, which is discrimination against others. read more

This complex is not the best or the worst in the Bellevue area. I would have given two stars, but the management team was extremely helpful when we decided to terminate the lease to relocate out-of-state. I can see where others have issues with the efficiency of the office staff, as we also had numerous issues that took a while to rectify if they got rectified at all. We had no real problems with rude or dismissive attitudes, it just seems that communication between staff is little to non-existent. Our move-in check list maintenance requests were never addressed, despite numerous reminders and I was told that they were too short staffed to take care of smaller issues. The HVAC unit was broken from the time we moved in and broke two more times which finally led to them replacing the entire system a week before we moved out. Both parties, management and HVAC vendor, blamed the other for not having addressed this in a timely manner and they both had the same story of not being contacted by the other to move forward with the replacement. The Seattle business culture is like this in general, so if you're coming from any other area of the country, get ready for the inefficiency and lack of accountability. On the plus side, we were reimbursed for purchasing our own space heaters. Our particular apartment was a "classic" style (so old fixtures, doors, etc), but we were lucky to have brand new appliances installed shortly after we moved in. Although they've done a lot of work on the exterior of the buildings, it does not make up for how poorly constructed they are in general. Our upstairs neighbor, who was otherwise quiet, had terribly loud and creaky subfloor so we could hear him moving around at all hours of the day and night. Our neighbors across the hall complained about the same problem with their upstairs neighbor and were actually in the process of moving out, as well. The rooms face the parking lot and you can actually feel cars slamming their doors which is very distracting late at night. Mold is also an issue, and I suspect the master bathroom had a major issue behind the walls because the musty smell was strong and never went away in the time that we lived there. The neighborhood is quiet and removed from the hustle and bustle of downtown Bellevue which is nice. It's basically 10 minutes from everything on the East side. If you're a fussy, high maintenance tenant, this place is not going to be for you. If you have the financial means to pay the high rental rate for Bellevue area apartments, you'd likely be better off finding a place a couple of hundred dollars more expensive to get better quality and amenities. We were personally content with how basic the apartment was, but we're also not as whiny and obnoxious as Seattlites and East siders tend to be. It would have been nice to have a newer, updated apartment but that wouldn't have changed the really poor overall construction of this complex. Pros: Location, Fairly low rental rate depending on the market, 2/2 apartment was spacious, friendly and accommodating staff, central A/C and heating system (when the unit works), small gym was never overcrowded Cons: Poor building construction, mold, communication issues, short-staffed maintenance team, "classic" apartments need to be renovated, lack of adequate parking (carport is $30/month) read more

The people who work for the apartment act as if anything you ask of them (even grabbing a package at the office) is a HUGE inconvenience to them.. if they are even at the office which is a rarity. We've had multiple problems with our apartment since we moved in about 5 months ago, fireplace was broken for a month with no help or sign of anyone coming to fix it after multiple phone calls, vmails and visits to the office, our washer broke twice, the knob on the shower broke off and not to forget the sunken floor near the kitchen (we live on the top floor). I really wish I knew what I was getting myself into when moving here, being 9 1/2 months pregnant and having to deal with incompetent/rude staff having work done on the building every other week (rockwall work for a week, gutters for a few days, fire alarm installation for weeks then fire alarm testing for a few days including people being in your ceiling without notice.) Try to avoid this apartment complex. The toilet in my apartment does not flush well and I have sent three requests and they didn't seem to take it seriously. Now I have to try to avoid using the toilet as best as I can. It's very hard to get into contact with management or maintenance staff. The online request portal does not work (as least for safari and chrome, haven't tried out other browsers). Tried to call them, alway ended up with no one answering the phone and directed me to leave a message, even during business hours. The apartments are kind of located in the woods. Very dark inside during sunny days. A package sent from amazon was lost. Never missed a package before I moved here. Big packages are supposed to be left at leasing office. The girl in the office didn't seem to care. She just sat there, staring at the computer and answered all my questions with "I don't know". We lived here just short of a year in one of their few 3 bedroom apartments. I felt the rent we paid was very fair for the square footage in Bellevue. However, what made this truly an enjoyable place to lease was the management. Everyone was always cheerful, and maintenance requests were always prompt. Angelica, Jay, and Kasey were all super nice and greeted my kids and I with a smile each time we saw them around the office and apartments.
