Red Bay Downtown RV Park - Aerial View

We were in Red Bay recently having work done on our coach. We drove all around Red Bay (in 7…read moreminutes) looking for any changes there since last time we were out there. In doing so, we came across this little "campground" with 10 spaces, and full hook ups. It had 2 picnic tables, and a small podium stand "office." This is a completely self serve facility and is on the honor system. They are $20 a night, or $120 for a week stay there, and they have WATER ALL YEAR ROUND there. Tiffin Campground will actually shut off their water at the sites when it is that cold out, so, this is a major benefit to those staying there. It is a very quick jaunt down to the Tiffin Service Center from there, and very easy to get to from a big rig point of view. The "campground" does not have any amenities, however, serves it basic purpose of giving you a full hook up site to stay at - right downtown Red Bay.

Of course, we are having work done on our Tiffin Motorhome. The Allegro campground was full, so the…read moreoffice employee generously told us there were two spots open, "downtown". So, off we drove to explore the Downtown RV Park. I can happily report, not being huge fans of spending days on end with entitled, overly-obsessed Tiffin owners comparing everything they've ever done and owned, we LOVE the Downtown RV Park. The sites are on level cement, from what looks to be an old building someone demolished. The hookups are easily accessible, and we can easily walk around town for some excitement. I would give 5 stars, but there is no pool...

Nestled along the back roads of Tishomingo County, this park feels like a second home. With hiking…read moretrails for every level of experience, there's truly something for everyone. The campground offers over 60 sites, plus six cozy cabins. Three of these are rustic stone cabins with two rooms each, while the other three are smaller, single-room cabins. Cabin Six has been beautifully updated with new floors, furniture, appliances, and a modern bathroom. For larger groups, the park also has three group camp cabins--each with 20 bunk beds and spacious bathrooms that include showers, toilets, and sinks. The park is full of history and adventure. Visitors can explore the Pioneer Cabin and its nearby waterfall, or cross the famous swinging bridge--a suspension bridge that stretches 25 feet over Bear Creek. On the other side, you'll find two trails perfect for bouldering, rock climbing, or simply wandering through the forest. Wildlife is abundant, with deer, squirrels, raccoons, and plenty of other critters calling the park home. There are three scenic pavilions for picnics or gatherings. Pavilion One has restrooms nearby, Pavilion Two overlooks Haines Lake, and Pavilion Three also offers a beautiful view of the water. The dining hall is available for weddings, reunions, meetings, and other special events. Fishing enthusiasts will love the three fishing spots: Haines Lake, a quiet pond behind the Pioneer Cabin, and Bear Creek beneath the swinging bridge. For families, the park includes two playgrounds, a sports field, and plenty of picnic tables with cast-iron grills scattered throughout. Outdoor fun continues with three disc golf courses designed for different skill levels. And when it's time to clean up, the campground features two bathhouses that are always kept tidy by the hardworking park staff. Tishomingo State Park is more than just a destination--it's a place where history, nature, and community come together.

Beautiful park. Stayed in cabin 6. Updated and well kept. Doesn't feel like Mississippi at all here.read more

Excellent place to stay if you are in Red Bay. $25/night. $100 for 7 nights. All the nearby CGs…read morewent up to $25 when the service center raised their rates. This CG is flat and level, 50 amp, water, sewer. In this town, these amenities are superior to Tiffin service center CG which turns off the water when winter arrives. Easy in/out 2 ways. Lots of room to hook/unhook your tow vehicle. You could walk to the Steak house for dinner if you want... and further. Nothing is that far away in Red Bay. Someone planted some Arborvitaes around the fence across the lot - so eventually guests will not be bothered by the barking dogs that live in the house. They are little dogs... but several. Tend to bark if they are out and RV owners walk their dogs over to the grassy area. Seemed to be less barking this trip. Perhaps they are getting used to having neighbors. :-)

There is a cost of $20 a night, or $100 a week to stay here with full hookups. During the winter months, the Tiffin campground shuts off the water to all of the sites. This place DOES NOT SHUT OFF THE WATER. Our coach is under warranty, however, we still come here and pay because they have water at all the sites that is kept on. The parking lot holds 10 coaches, and is a self service campground, meaning, there is no one on staff here. You pay on the honor system by placing your money in the deposit slot inside the little office. The lot is virtually level, and the spots are rather spacious. There are NO FRILLS at this facility. NO bathhouse, NO picnic tables, NO fire pits, NO grass around, and NO WIFI. Just a parking lot. This is not a destination facility, this is merely a place to park and get some rest. I would recommend getting WIFI here as an incentive to stay, and only gave it three stars because it merely serves its purpose, and nothing more.
